This was my first time back to this location. As I arrived I had to use the bathroom and let me tell you I've been to Mcdonald's bathrooms and they're cleaner than this stores bathroom. I was very disappointment at the way it was, toilet papers all around the floor and it smelled as if it hadn't been cleaned in months. We went to buy fish with my daughters, the associate that helped us was very friendly and that's what I love to see. When we were picking out our little new members we noticed 3 dead fishes in another tank, goes to show you that they don't check their tanks. read more

Pretty good training program. I'm a bit disappointed it is only 6 weeks. A year ago the program was two weeks longer for the same cost. It did feel a bit rushed at times, but my pup learned the basics and that's why we came. Though honestly, you could get the same information online - if you are so inclined. read more

I purchased the yearlong Banfield Pet Service. Worst decision ever. Total rip off. They nickel and dime to death so you're not saving a thing! Customer service is the worst. No one seems to know what they are doing and they are quick with excuses. Support your local independent Vet. The service they offer is much better and worth the few extra bucks. read more

The training would get 5 star, the customer service would get 5 stars, the selection would get 4 stars (not too many high end foods), and the Vet would get 3 stars, but the reason I am giving 2 stars is because of the grooming department. I don't like that they cage them for hours, the staff is uncaring, and seems to lack basic knowledge of dogs. Take your fur baby somewhere else for grooming. read more

This review is for the store in general, I've only used the grooming service once. I've had my dogs for a little over 3 years now. At first big, rambunctious puppies that couldn't stand or sit still for 10 seconds (they could be very annoying but no one ever made us feel bad). Some of the employees have known my dogs from day one. They know all of their names recognize each of them which is no easy feat considering I have 3 large black lab mixes that look alike. I usually don't have many expectations from certain types of chain stores and that also went for PetSmart. It was actually a pleasant surprise to find helpful folks working there who do their best at a sometimes thankless job. Back to the review: My dogs love going there, hearing their names the minute they walk in the door, getting love at every aisle it's priceless, they are special to me but it's nice to see others enjoying them too especially that I can tell they get special treatment (or maybe it's me, I am friendlier than most). Everything I need is pretty much always in stock, there always seems to be a special running on some item I needed now or would have needed at a later time, As soon as there are more than 2 people in line, they open new registers, the management team is not exactly friendly but it doesn't reflect on the employees attitude toward the customers so whatev' I used to love going there until the parking management started charging two dollars for parking even for less than an hour. NO grace period. Not PetSmart's fault but since they are one of the largest tenants outside of Target, they should do something about it. I started going to the Aventura PetSmart for a few months since I'm always in that area and can do other shopping too but I'm back to my Midtown store. I'll pay for parking thank you very much and I'll tell you why: In Aventura, it's hard to find someone to help, they employees look unhappy for the most part and pass it right along to me, the dog food is more expensive so I end up paying the two bucks anyway plus more, and we don't get treated like canine royalty, that's actually the real reason we went back to Midtown, I'm the dog queen and my dogs are the Doggie Royal Family and we expect to be treated as such. So I'll keep going where I am recognized and appreciated as the valuable customer that I am. All in all, pretty cool place for a chain pet supply store. I did use the grooming once, they did a good job but I went back to my independent groomer, the grooming was a little too "a la carte" for me. I like packages. We also go to Banfield Pet Hospital which is inside of PetSmart so as you can imagine, we're there a lot and even when we're not shopping the PetSmart team always has time for head scratching and a kind word for me. Prices are right and service is good, fast and kind. What else could I ask for? read more

Where do I start? 1. Grooming is terrible. I was at Petsmart on 2/25/19 to have my dog groomed. Not only did they not express the anal glands, they neglected to tell me that one of my dogs nails was so long it was puncturing her skin. I would have immediately said please clip! I only realized this because I went to the vet on 3/16/19 and was told that the anal glands were extremely full and that any groomer would have noticed the extremely long nail. 2. They have issues at the register where even though your phone number and email are correct they somehow can't issue me points towards purchases. I have called their customer service 2 times on this and was told that I, the customer, have to resolve this with an in store manager... they can't do this for me. 3. The customer service at this store is terrible. They aren't helpful, they have side conversations at the register with each other while you're checking out and no smiles. Very solid store. I just got a new puppy, so I've spent a lot of money here in the past few months. Wish it were a little cheaper, but the place is clean and the staff is friendly. Thought a few times the place was a bit leanly staffed, but generally a good shopping experience. read more

The groomers did an excellent job on my dog's haircut. The groomers were very nice and my dog looked great when I got him back.

I took my puppy to get trained here, and I won't mention the trainers name because honestly its not really anything she did in particular. I think that they need to revamp their structure and spend more time on the type of training they are doing. I understand this is a generic run of the mill training center but I feel that 6 weeks aka 6 classes isnt long enough to really teach a puppy much. I am still working with Oscar on training him all the tricks that I was taught while he was in class. I believe the class sizes should be different and also that they should extend the classes to a minimum of 8 weeks. I guess for the money $120.00 it was ok. I wouldn't rave about it and I'm not planning on continuing to train him at their facility. read more

this place, along with petsmart, is a total disaster. first they over charge you for the puppy wellness plan by making you think it covers costs that are not actually covered. then they get you by continuously charging your credit card (because there is a contract) but now they need not offer any services because you are stuck. most recently they said that the neutering of my dog, which is already paid for, never made their appointment log so i had to reschedule. i definitely scheduled the neutering for tomorrow and they definitely messed up and refused to take any responsibility. don't let them fool you - choose a local independent vet to support and you will be rewarded by being treated respectfully and as a valued customer. choose banfield and be expected to be treated like someone who doesn't matter because there is no more financial gain for banfield to treat you well. the only people who use banfield either don't have a job (so their time isn't important) or they just got their first dog/pet so they just don't know any better. my experience with petsmart, the store, and their training center is even worse. do yourself a favor and just watch training videos on youtube. they are better, they are free, and they are easier to watch and use. read more

I came here to buy a barking control system (between $200 and $ 375) , I have been waiting for more than 60 minutes begging for some expert to guide me through the purchase and after asking every single employee I could I had to wait and wait and wait and keep waiting. Horrible experience, if this is a pets store where you can have the experience of a bad fast food company, this is it. Do not expect the service of professionals in the pet industry, because you won't get it. I would never come back here and I wouldn't recommend this place to anybody. On top of that during the 60 minutes I had to wait I checked prices and I realized that everything is extremely overpriced. Bad experience. Do not go there. read more

I made an appointment to get my dog groomed at 10am, and by 10:20am I was walking out of the store, surprised at my poor experience. First of all, unless you selectively read the FAQ on Petsmart's website, you will have no idea that their grooming appointments expect to take 3-4 HOURS. Why bother making an appointment at a specific time then? It should be a time window. Not on the text confirmation, email confirmation, or booking website does it share this. Upon arrival I was ignored by the girl checking in dogs, as she was checking in a tiny 8 week old puppy (who gets an 8 week old puppy groomed???), which I was shocked to see that they allowed such a young dog to be groomed. After waiting ten minutes I asked her if anyone was going to help me, since it was ten minutes past my appointment time. She responded with a snotty attitude that the other girl could check me in. (who magically showed up in those ten minutes) They both continued to comment in front of customers about how Maria, the groomer, was not even there yet and that there were three other dogs scheduled at 10am. I noticed that there was another small white dog already tied up (yes, they slip rope a leash around your dogs neck so that it can choke itself to death while it waits 3-4 hours to get groomed) and looking extremely anxious, pacing, thrashing its head. Not one of the girls working tried to comfort or help it. They proceeded to do the same with the tiny puppy: tie it up by its neck to the base of the groomer's stand. I refused to leave my dog alone with these people who were clearly not properly trained or empathetic towards animals. I definitely won't be going back. read more

Be careful!!!!!. While I was waiting for my dog, that she was in the grooming saloon, a very RUDE employee asked me almost yelling out "Sir are you ready to checkout?" , just because I was about to pay a dog's tooth brush but I was somehow close to the store's doors. In another words, and employee almost call me stealer, whiIe I was waiting for my dog to be ready.... I complained to the store's manager, but his "what can I do? face", made me understand that I was in the wrong place with the wrong pro guest service EVER!!!. Also, when my dog was "ready" to go, I noticed a HUGE tick scrolling on one of my her legs..........REALLY????????????, I just paid for a bath and brush, and this is what I'm getting?. Don't get me wrong, if You want to save a couple of bucks, this is Your store, I definitly don't come back to this store anymore ever!!!!! read more

I bought a package of dog dental treats here only to bring them home and have moths fly out of the package. I immediately threw away the package, but the damage was done since the moths had already flown out. I sent an email complaining to PetSmart corporate headquarters. They took over a week to respond, and another 5 days to send an exterminator. Exterminator said that they are indian meal moths, and common when a store sells old food products that should no longer be on the shelves. He also said that he could spray for the moths that were flying around, but if they had laid eggs, the extermination fluid would not kill the eggs. So I might have a new crop of moths show up in the coming weeks. Great. I keep an otherwise immaculate home (and even have a non-shedding dog to keep things tidy). Thanks to PetSmart, I have a home infested with moths that seem to be impossible to get rid of. They did not even apologize! If you care about the health of your dog and the cleanliness of your home, do not shop at PetSmart. read more

I have been here a few times and I usually am very happy. However this one time I had a friend drop off my dog after I called in and let them know what exactly I wanted to be done. The young lady over the phone gave me a quote of 37 bucks. After being at work all day and come to get my dog his hair has been cut ALL I WANTED WAS A WASH AND TRIM HIS PAWS & BUTT not only that but the ticketed price was 69 bucks... Yeah I was pretty upset to get this surprise! Never would I go back to this location again because when I called back to speak to a manager I got yelled at by an employee telling what I should have done. Later I spoke to the manager and all she could say is when he comes back let her know... We are in November I will not be coming back anytime soon since my poor dog hair been cut. Customer service is important to me and the way I was treated frustrated me to the 20th power. How do I know that I would be token care of when he is ready for another grooming service. read more
