Made a grooming appt for a cut for my 4 yr old maltipoo. The cost was $75. (basic $55+20 for extra…read morespecial "shampoo and conditioner & facial + breath freshener"... I made it clear that he needed to be cut but I wanted to keep as much hair as possible . I informed them however to "cut whats needed". That direction was perhaps too broad because they shaves him like he was a cousin to a freshborn chihuahua! lol After looking at him, the agreed price was $75. I signed my name to the services and all. Well, the drop off and switch occurred 15-20 mins later when I get a call that they want to add $15 for "matt removal" for the CHEST area. That bumps the bill to now $90! The sheer shock to see my poor pup afterwards was so disappointing. He also seemed extra skiddish when I picked him up despite him going to groomers for his entire life. By the time I made it home, his now very visible skin looked inflamed and red and bleeding in areas. I called the store back same day and they said the groomer (Julie) was already gone for the day. She did called back the following morning and provided the list of items used on my pup. She was nice but a partial refund should have been offered when I told her I had to now take him to the vet to be checked. Last night, I gave him an oatmeal bath to calm the skin to give him temporary relief. I understand there was a bit of tangled hair but to shave him to the lowest all over shows zero effort. The hair around his face was "choppy" and poorly shaped Never again! For the record, The store staff and Julie was friendly and kept complimenting how "cute" and sweet he was as a pup, and the grooming area and store looked clean but this experience was horrid. 2 photos show results after the grooming appt at Petsense in West Monroeby groomer "Julie" and assts. 1 photo included shows what he typically looks like when properly groomed without issues

I haven't set foot in the establishment in so long I can't recall the specific date/year. I'd been here a few times to purchase dog food, when I was still buying bagged/canned food. Thank God I now prepare my dog's food. But when I came here for food, they never had my brand. They claimed someone else would come in right before me and buy it all out. Um, what about purchasing enough for your customers, after all the place is a STORE! To make matters worse, on my last trip to the store for food I learned they stopped carrying the food brand I'd buy altogether. What the...? To be fair, there were a couple store workers who were incredibly helpful when I needed to purchase incidentals a time or two but the guy masquerading as a "manager" was not helpful especially when I had the incident with the "groomer." I'd had my dog groomed here twice. The person who groomed him initially, shaved him as requested for his "summer cut" but left his face completely "wolfy"/hairy. Needless to say I wasn't happy about paying for a less than complete job and having to come home to shave his face, trim his whiskers etc. myself. This incident reminded me of why I normally groom him at home. On his second grooming appointment, I made an appointment with the groomer, who phoned me from her personal cell phone. No big deal. I wrote the agreed upon date and time in my agenda while talking to her, repeated the time and date to her and showed up at the establishment as scheduled. Not only did the groomer NOT show, when the "manager" phoned her to ask her about the missed appointment, she LIED and told the manager that she did not set an appointment for my dog. What the...? There are too many games played here. It's sad that company workers consistently want to be paid and tipped, all while rendering sub par work. No thank you. For the life of me I cannot figure out how this establishment, with absolutely no integrity, continues to perform.
