I don't like this store at all. They didn't have what I needed. But the biggest problem is grooming, you have to book weeks ahead. They need to get more staff it's very inconvenient to book an appointment 3 weeks away my dog will need 2 sessions in that time only!

I think they did a great job at the groomers. I brought Mikey in for a wash, clipped his nails, and brushed his hair which was silky smooth. They also made some recommendations on cleaning up his paws especially walking in the snow, and the hairs that block his eyes. He can now see. He left happy, so I'm glad to find a place to bring him back that is not too far from home.

Took my dog into the store to get groomed for the first time. The day before the grooming salon called me trying to cancel his haircut. I told him no he needed a haircut and proceeded to bring him in today. Then when I got there, I'll wait for about 15 minutes to go inside the room because there is a lady there with her dog and my dog is not friendly with other dogs, so when I come in, she ask about his vaccination records and see if he cannot see him because he does not have any. He has gotten his haircut at Petsmart his entire life and his records are in the system. I asked her to recheck she did, and found another account that showed his records. I'll leave him there. Two hours later I get a phone call that he's being aggressive and they can no longer trim him. I informed the lady beforehand that he could be aggressive if you were touching his head and tail and most Petsmart left those areas uncut. She refused to go any further, and even refused to bathe him. Again, he is always gotten his haircut at Petsmart and he has the same reactions and he always comes out clean and completely trimmed and they said he was a good dog. This is hell Petsmart today left him look at the photos. I will never take him back to this particular store and honestly, that lady needs to be fired

I have an older shorkie who is in decent health and brought her here on recommendation from a neighbor since I recently moved. I let the staff know that my dog can get a little nervous and shakes and pants with the intention of letting them know that's alright and they can still groom her even when she gets stressed. They let me know she had some mats I agreed and understood with no issues. One hour later I get a call saying she is way too stressed and they are sending her home. Strange since I thought my warning was clear. I pick her up anyways and see that they have barely done anything to cut her hair and what they had gotten to was atrocious (see photos). Cassidy let me know that she wasn't comfortable with her being stressed because of her age. She said from now on U should only take her to a sedated vet groomer. My dog is 15 years old, a vet will not sedate her. With this ridiculous news comes more. I paid $20 for them to spend what looks like 10 minutes cutting her hair. I digress and go to the register where she asks if I would like to leave gratuity. I simply responded "please look at my dog, not today". Overall I'm just sad my dog looks this ridiculous.

So Baci was an indulged as a new puppy who arrived at our home just when our new granddaughter did in a remote city. But once we moved to the Front Range area to be closer to our growing family, Baci needed some training. Isaac was just amazing. Calm, quiet, and easygoing. No reprimands from this guy, just relationship building, establishing trust and clear communication, and persistence. Our dog went from a highly reactive and headstrong little girl to walking on a heal with a loose leash, being able to sit on command, staying out of a designated area, and more. All in just one session. The best part is that her fun and high spirits remain fully intact. This dog is still happy, fun, and loving. Thanks, Isaac. Highly recommend!

Three days into having him and he dragged me down a hill to get to another dog. I love him, but he's an absolute psycho. I called a bunch of trainers to see if someone could help with his dog reactivity. They all flat out refused because of his age and size to train him around other dogs which is what Sheldon needed. After the first two sessions with Isaac where he shared invaluable tips, he allowed us to practice around his dog Finn (the most placid dog). Isaac was patient, calm, and supportive of our journey with Sheldon. He'd even offer guidance if I had a question about the training post-session. We're now almost a year into having Sheldon and I can comfortably walk him around other dogs with some of the cues and tips that Isaac taught me. I can take him to the park and I can have him on a long line. Today we walked passed two off leash dogs playing fetch! I'm truly grateful to Isaac for making our lives and Sheldon's life a lot less stressful.

What makes Claudia special as a trainer is that she's truly positive reinforcement, not mixed positive and punishment which is just confusing for dogs. Also, she isn't your dog's trainer, she's YOUR trainer - teaching you how to build a next level relationship with your doggie. We have a 7lb rescue who needed to learn how to safely interact with the world. We started by prioritizing basics, like sit, lay down, come, leave it, etc. Our original plan was to just get the basics covered - our dog is so little we wanted to ensure his safety. I had done a good amount of research and watch videos online of how to train these commands and thought I would take it as far as I could on my own before bringing in a trainer to cover any gaps. Well once we brought in Claudia my only regret was not bringing her in from the very start. We learned so much about how to work with our dog, we learned much faster, and had a lot of fun in the process. We ended up working with Claudia for more sessions only because what we learned improved our relationship with our dog so much and was so rewarding for all of us that we wanted to keeping working on more fun training. And because we learned the fundamentals so well from Claudia, we've since been able to train our dog on even more things entirely on our own (like "boop" nose to nose touch). This is due to the foundational understanding that Claudia taught us of how to shape new skills. Claudia has also come to our aid in a couple semi-emergency situations, such as when we started fostering a dog that had been rescued from the streets and was therefore very reactive and resource guarding. She helped us first prioritize safety and well-being for both our foster dog and resident dog, then followed up with how to work on our foster dog's behaviors to help her get adopted successfully. If not for Claudia in that situation we might have needed to return our foster to the rescue - but instead we were equipped to handle a whole new set of challenging behaviors and set our foster dog up for a good life with a family.

My dog was severely injured and almost lost her eye due to negligence on their end. After speaking with the animal hospital I was advised that MANY dogs come to the hospital with a variety of injuries and that CO Dog Academy is not transparent when injuries occur. The Kennel is known as having a "sketchy" reputation and the fact they don't have cameras is a huge red flag. Pat the owner was incredibly combative with me when I asked him to pay for the vet bill. He offered $500 and I asked how he came up with that amount when the cost of treatment was triple that amount. He said I had no proof they were responsible. What I believe happened is that the old rusty door that leads to the outside kennel fell and trapped my dog by her neck (they found grease all over her). As a result, eye proptosis occurred (very painful injury where the eye pops out) I'm so disappointed with how CO Dog Academy handled this matter. I'll Post pics on yelp. He has been a wonderful addition to their family and has excelled in obedience training. However, he is quite reactive around other dogs. My daughter had been working diligently with a professional trainer for some time, but they weren't making much progress with Maverick to help him around other dogs. I encouraged my daughter to contact the Academy and speak with Dan, who I have known for 40 years and has trained several of my own dogs. I told her, "If there is a trainer who can help Maverick, it's Dan." Dan did not disappoint! After two weeks of board and train for Maverick, I met my daughter at the Academy today with my two dogs, which Maverick had not yet met. Dan facilitated a greeting and interaction between them, and it went even better than we could have hoped for. It was important for our entire family to spend time together, and that includes our dogs. Dan has made that possible for us. I cannot thank Dan and Colorado Dog Academy enough for helping us get on the right path with our pack. We will be forever grateful.

A complete contrast to our older collie/aussie mix, he was full of energy and naughtiness (a puppy), and a nightmare to control. Prior to being surrendered by his (previous) family, he went through two weeks of out of home boarding/training, costing upwards of $7,000. We thought this would have helped with obedience, but boy were we wrong. Fast forward two and a half years, sessions with a certified behaviorist, and failed attempts to use an e-collar, we were at a loss. Two of them are my problem children: a Rottweiler mix foster fail who is reactive to bikes and other dogs and occasionally nervous around people like visiting contractors or UPS men, and the other is a 100+ lb Brazilian mastiff rescue from Aruba who is not fond of other dogs. The two of them began showing increasingly worse dog aggression toward other dogs on the trail and while camping, and had attacked several dogs by the time I found Loyal Hound/Juliet. I was at my wit's end, because I had already spent thousands of dollars and tried everything including other trainers at that point with little to no progress. I felt stuck with 2 big problems for the next 6-8 years. I hike at least 3 miles every single day off leash on the trails by my house, and I love to camp with my dogs in the summer, but they became such a liability that walks became stressful and camping became impossible. I finally found Juliet with Loyal Hound, and for our very first session we met at a crowded park and were going to be doing off leash training right away. I was so nervous -- all the triggers were present: other people with dogs on leashes, dogs off leashes, people on bikes, squirrels -- so I was absolutely AMAZED when we were walking my Rottweiler off leash through a gaggle of geese, past people on bikes, and past other dogs within a few minutes with no problems. It was nothing short of a miracle. Within a few sessions, I had both of my dog aggressive dogs walking on and off leash next to me, passing other dogs (sometimes dogs that were even barking at them) on trails safely with no reactivity. I cannot explain in words how much of a difference this has made in my life -- I feel like I got my life back. If you have a dog aggressive dog, this is the place to go. It's WELL worth the investment, and you will be amazed at the difference you will see in your dog. Thank you Loyal Hound & Juliet!!
