Was picking my dog up the other day when I saw a male groomer aggressively pulling a dog on his table and heard the dog yelp. Made me so uncomfortable and will not be back after seeing that. If that happened to my dog I would want to know this happened. read more

After an experience I had here a few weeks ago, after 12 years of going to various petsmart groomers, I will no longer go here or to any other one for that matter. I will also talk as many people as I possibly can out of it. Petco is much friendlier and more accommodating and let's face it- they're not in the news for killing pets, and petsmart is, so..... To make this easier, I'm going to post what I said on the HANOVER store's review here: I had made an appointment to have my 2 dogs to be groomed here. They are both large breed dogs- my girl is1 year old (85lbs and climbing) and my boy is 12 years old (100lbs). This is during covid so the literal only way I could make the appointment was online, they were not answering the phones. I got an error message when I made the appointment for my older dog, so I called to make sure it went through. It took them a few days to get back to me and when they did they confirmed that the appointment went through and they'd see me soon. 45 minutes before my appointment I receive a phone call from one of the people who works in the groomer. She said: 1- We can't do your older dog's appointment today bc the groomer who you booked with isn't in today. I don't even know why the system allowed you to book with her. 2- I see a note in your file that your dog can't stand so we can't groom him due to social distancing rules. Not only had I called to confirm that appointment went through weeks prior, but I had mentioned that my 12 year old dog has arthritis so to be careful when lifting hind legs. I GUESS THAT TRANSLATES TO HE CAN'T STAND. So apparently the person I spoke to had placed an alert on the account?!?! Saying my dog can't stand, which is NOT WHAT I SAID. I explained that I had confirmed the appointment weeks ago and that my dog can stand but that's certainly 4 hours straight of standing is a long time for a 100lb 12 year old dog. The woman then acted like she was doing me a favor and said if I can get to the appointment in 20 minutes she will try to do him but will turn him away if he can't stand. I live 30 minutes from the groomer and was literally in the shower when she called since the appointment was in 45 minutes! So, obviously that wasn't happening. I ended up only taking my 1 year old dog and not the 12 year old and honestly I didn't even want to take her but because of covid and groomers being shut down for months she needed a groom badly. They charged me $120 and my dog came home still having mats behind her ears and other things I ended up having to cut off myself. Not worth the time, effort, stress, or money. Who calls someone 45 minutes prior to an appointment to cancel then shows zero signs of understanding that that is obnoxious?! HERE IS WHERE THIS PLYMOUTH LOCATION COMES IN: Due to the alert the person placed on my account, I called the Plymouth petsmart where my dog has gone before and they wouldn't even give me the time of day. I asked to speak with the person who has groomed him prior to have her change the alert because she knows he can in fact stand and the girl wouldn't let me speak to her. I have been going to various petsmart grooming salons for 12 years and after this experience I will never ever go again, and I will try to deter anyone I know from going here as well. They discriminated against my dog because he's older. Bye, Petsmart, it's been reallllll. Basically, I called this location after to try to make an appointment with them since they had seen my dog before and Hanover had not.... and then woman who answered the phone was rude and atrocious. Extremely unprofessional and didn't even attempt to allow me to speak with the person who had groomed my pet before so I could ask if he "can't stand" during a grooming. Also I called SEVERAL times and they never called me back. What a joke of an establishment. read more

Animal abuse. This is two words for this store. All their leopard geckos were highly malnourished, and one even was sick and had a gory cut on its back. I told an employee that probably won't do anything about it or tell anyone. There was dry moss that at first I thought was hamster bedding, a bowl of dirt, no calcium, and they all were very skinny. I hope that one day all these stores get shut down. You are ruining precious lives. You give the reptiles cages smaller than a piece of paper width wise. I would recommend going to Petco, as they treat their animals even better, which is a shock. Hopefully someone kind-hearted will reply to this post. You treat reptiles like horrible creepy creatures, and your birds and hamsters like royalty. Definitely not coming back. I even have proof of your abuse. I hope someone reads this and does actual research on these poor animals. I would not hand out any advice if you can't even keep your own animals right. One of your geckos also had bloody and ripped toe nails. Pls do better. read more

Would not bring my dog back for grooming. Dog hair all over the floors that hadn't been swept up, multiple dogs fur. My puppy was eating it as they brought her back. When we picked her up the groomers were very short and grumpy. I was also criticized by the type of collar (prong) that I am using on my dog and was told it can cause trachea and vertebrae problems. Never asked for that input and she is using the collar after being trained by a professional. read more

Arrived to bring my dog there for a cut and shampoo this is what i saw: 1. Multiple forms from other dog owners were strewn across the counters with personal information shown. 2. Dirty floors 3. A question to the other groomer ( there were 2) was, " are we allowed to put dogs in the crates yet?" Whatever that means, are they running around? 4. But what made me leave, I was witnessing the groomer checking me in try to pull a chocolate lab who was there for a nail trimming, pulling him as hard as she could bc he wouldn't move by a choke collar multiple, multiple times. This occurred with her whole body force extending the dogs neck, I'm amazed it didn't come off his body. This dog was so stressed it was ridiculous and the fact that they couldn't recognize that was very, very scary! The other groomer finally came over and moved the dog with her legs gently corraling him to the back. That poor dog was extremely stressed. I walked out bc they couldn't get ahold of my Vet which was perfect bc I wouldn't ever go back or leave my dog there. Stay away until they get more experienced help. read more

Knowledgeable and helpful staff, and great customer service. After an unfortunate experience with sick pets purchased at the store, the general manager worked with corporate for over a week to get us compensation for the vet costs we have incurred. I'm really impressed with the management and staff at this store. read more

The associate, Fran, at the Plymouth location was very knowledgable, friendly and took the time to out fit with all the basics fir my new rescue puppies! She answered all my questions with detailed information. I would go back to PetSmart just so the pups can do their shopping with Fran! read more

We took our dog in for a couple Matt's that needed combed out. They did not listen and shaved her instead. The shave job botched the tail.

Worst Petsmart ever! I took my dog to get groomed there and they told me they would call in 4 hours. I thought that was long but went along with it. They called the wrong number for me to pick him up! I finally called at 4 1/2 hours and they said he's been ready for an hour. I arrived and I asked if he had been given a potty break and they said they weren't allowed to even though it had been 5 hours and he's a 9 lb dog. They did tell me he pooped in the crate - but I know he is crate trained and wouldn't have done that unless necessary. The store mgr was on vacation so I talked to a mgr named Danielle who didn't seem to care my dog was mistreated and I recieved poor customer service. Don't leave your dog at Petsmart in Plymouth!! read more

We LOVE this PetSmart! Three dog classes. Trainer is awesome. Bought fish, lizard, and turtle from here. All alive and well. Staff have been kind and attentive with all questions. Our dog also sees Banfield which is the veterinarian office in Pet Smart. I give this PetSmart 5 stars. read more

Grooming...Took my dog here twice the first time was terrible but thought maybe we'll try again. Huge mistake, they were terrible and my dog was shaking when I picked her up. NEVER AGAIN. I found a place that is fantastic and she doesn't shake when she goes or when I pick her up and they were cheaper!!! Go to the Dog's Den in Pembroke if you love your dog!!! read more

I definitely choose comming here over Petco. I can always find what I need typically it is cheaper then Petco and reasonably priced. The staff is always helpful, I was waited on a worker named Liz who seemed like she would rather be some where else and seemed bored with whatever question I or any of her coworkers needed to ask. The store would get 5 stars from me if some of the workers didn't act like know it alls or looked at you like you have ten heads if you say you do something a little different with your pet. read more

who ever wrote the previous review needs to get a clue... I have been taking my dogs there since they day they opened and have had the best and most professional service of anywhere I have ever gone. They call the number that is listed on the paper work that you fill out yourself and the verify it before you leave... So if they called the wrong number then I hate to say it... You gave them the wrong number. They also tell you upfront that they are not allowed to take the dogs outside the building even for a "potty break" so to try and walk them before the appointment... If you know anything about animals you would also know it doesn't matter how trained they are in a stressful situation or if they have to go then they are going to go.... Did they clean it up and give the dog back clean?? My dogs are trained show dogs that go to the bathroom pretty much on command and even they have gone in the crate before. As far as the manager not caring I wonder how you talked to the person.... Confrontational and demanding perhaps... Expecting them to get down and beg for forgiveness.... The managers have always been extremely helpfully and bent over backwards to ensure my needs were met.. Especially the grooming salon manager... Did you bother to ask to talk to her since your issue was in the salon? Bottom line is they are great with animals and will take care of your animals and you if you treat them as humans. read more
