This place is a TOTAL SHIT SHOW (literally)!!! I walked in to get both my dogs groomed only to be met by a pile of shit in front of the grooming deptartment door. An elderly woman appeared to be having trouble with her nervous dog who had pooped all around her. So I asked her if she needed help and offered a poop bag. Where the hell were the employees to offer her any assistance?! Nowhere apparently. I let that one go. Then I entered the grooming salon and told them I needed two nail trims. I was greeted this time pile of piss on the floor by the check-in counter and was told to "watch out" while all the groomers ignored cleaning it up. Since I was new, they had to take down all my info and see rabies records. Apparently spelling and listening are really hard these days since then girl doing my intake was a complete nimrod. What should have taken 5 minutes took 15 because the people PetSmart hires are clearly incompetent. FINALLY the nail trims are finished and of course, the pile of piss is still on the floor. So I ask for a towel and spray to clean it up for them. I leave feeling completely annoyed at this point, and my dogs are freaking out since everything is so damn chaotic there. I then get in line to check out in the main store and the woman on register is clearly having a bad day. She's all over the place and not focused on doing her fucking job (like everyone else there). She keeps leaving her register and coming back, so by the time she finally rings me up, I tell her what a fucking shit show PetSmart is and that I'm never coming back. Where are the managers here? This place is HORRIBLE!!!!! Read the previous reviews! I wish I had! I used to think that PetSmart was an awesome place where people who love animals went to work. Now I know that this place is a job for people who are lazy, incompetent, and dumb as hammered dog shit. read more

I love my Groomer Kara, I have been taking Chewy there for 2 years now and only Kara will I let groom him.

I have never received such horrible customer service, the grooming department personnel were rude the whole time and I am glad I walked out without getting my dogs bathed by this place. If they are this rude to people, I can't imagine how they would treat my dogs. Only a one star because I can't do 0 stars. I would not recommend this grooming salon to anybody. read more

Staff was super friendly, several of them gave advice about products I was inquiring about and helped me find the things I was looking for. The cashier was super nice and went into detail about what I needed to do if I had issues with certain products. Let me know about the 60 day return policy as long as you have a receipt! :) I thought it was a nice location with friendly staff personally. read more

Do not shop here - they are dishonest. I left a bag of turtle food at the cash register. When I came back they said they had not seen it but when I went to buy more, all the items I had bought were sitting in one section. I know it was my stuff because I bought the last of the big box of food and the other two items were sitting next to it in the wrong spot. Hope it was worth losing a customer over. read more

My review is just on the grooming salon. I always give people a second chance, so the first time that I took our little baby there and I saw what I thought was a lot of overage charges for a 20 lbs. dog and a rude groomer, I forced myself to go back a second time. Well the second time they shaved my dog because they read the wrong notes in the computer. Clearly someone else's dog was supposed to be shaved and they shaved my baby. My dog was so depressed for the next 3 weeks, that he barely got off his bed. When I spoke with the manager about this she said well it's just hair and it will grow back. WHAT!!!! Who says that? She then suggested that our next cut would be discounted, ummm no thanks. He was traumatized there and I will not be taking him back ever! We now go to Shampoochies and I really like them as a groomer! read more

This would be a one star, but I've worked in customer service before and I understand that one negative experience with a single employee does not always apply to the whole. I took my dog in for a nail trim at this location. In the past I had a lab that HATED getting her nails trimmed, but the staff at pet smart always worked with us and so with my new dog I hoped for the same. This sadly was not the case. Our dog has some separation anxiety thus we watched him as they worked with his nails. They lady didn't ask us any past history other than if he had his nails done before. My boyfriend and I were actually pleased with how well he was doing despite a few barks and squirms. They lady then abruptly told us that the reason he was acting out was because we were present. She told us to go. We hesitantly agreed and exited the salon. It took all of 2 minutes before we were called back in. I was meant with my dog and the groomer who quickly informed me that they were unable to complete the nail trim and that my dog had bitten her. Of course I never want my dog to feel the need to lash out and I understand being upset but YOU WORK WITH ANIMALS. If my dog was that bad muzzle him! Instead she stated that they would not be able to trim my dogs nails again and my only other options were doing it at home or take him to the vet and they would put him under. A different staff member saw the situation and offered that we could in fact come in the next day and try again. However my experience was enough to make me never want to return. Talk about a bad attitude. Maybe trust an owner that knows their dog instead of thinking you know everything, it would save you an overall bad experience for both staff and customer. read more

I don't come to Petsmart anymore since they don't carry what my dogs eat, but my Lab has a habit of not chewing her food and got advice to try Lab 30 by Royal Canin. They only had the huge bag which I skipped to purchase that day. I did pick up a few treats and a squeaky toy. Store is one of the biggest one I've been to and it's very clean. read more

Beware of Monica at the Petsmart on 156th and Meridian in Puyallup. We are outstanding pet owners and tried to adopt a cat named Mr. Paddy. We mentioned on the application that we would accept a declawed cat but for some strange reason in her mind she kept telling us that we said we would only accept a declawed cat. We tried to explain her over and over again that that was not the case and that we were perfectly willing to adopt Mr. Paddy. We also assured her that we would not ever declaw a cat. While on the phone with her she kept telling me that we were declined but would not tell me why. She repeated for me to call the director of the Puyallup animal rescue then hung up. I called and left a message but no return call yet. Though the Puyallup animal rescue organization seems to have good reputation I think they need to find a cage for this woman. She wildly won't listen or reason once her mind is made up. The manager at this Petsmart told me he would talk with her about this experience. He told me that the organizations associated with Petsmart are expected to follow their policies with fairness. Thanks Steve. Do not make appointments online!! A few months ago, I made an appointment to get my dog groomed and they called an hour before saving they don't take appointments that's late. So I rescheduled and it was fine. I made another appointment today and I had a feeling they would try to cancel again so I called 2 hours prior to make sure the timing was fine and it was good and the woman on the phone said it was all good. Well 45 minutes before the appointment, I get a call saying they don't take appointments this late and would need more time and asked if I can reschedule. Ridiculous and a waste of time. To the cashier who was on register 2 at around 11am this morning, you're a dick. I already had my items on the belt and trying to deal with my child. I went to grab her and came back, obviously I was flustered, and decided to tell me, "she's open on register one." This guy obviously didn't want help me out at all and was a complete jerk. I literally told the gal on one, "if that's your manager he's a dick." I honestly don't give a flying crap if y'all read this. I'll never come back. The last 3 times I've been here, with and without my child it's been horrible customer service. I'll stick with pet pros thanks. My chihuahua gets his nails trimmed here, but the service we just received was terrible. I was there with my mom, but when I walked out to grab some dog treats, I guess the employee thought we both had left or something. Based on my mom who was still standing there, the girl who did my dogs nail grind was rude to him. She would forcibly grip him and harshly push or pick him up in the position she wanted. Of course my dog didn't like it so he reacted and tried to bite her, but she handled it by yelling at my dog saying "if you bite me, your going to jail!" My mom who was still there couldn't let my dog be handled by someone so disrespectful and abusive to dogs so she halted the employee from finishing and took my dog back. We don't live in Puyallup anymore but we came here because it's where my dogs are use to coming. After this experience, we will be going elsewhere for pet grooming services. If you do come here for grooming, make sure your there to monitor how your dog is being treated. read more

Teisha in the grooming salon is by far the best bather there. She is the only one I trust with all of my dogs. She always makes sure they are well handled and cared for. I recommend anyone going in to request her. Especially if you want someone who will care for your dogs like they are her own. I had a really bad experience with another groomer/bather there (Jessie) but Teisha made that all go away. read more

A great store, it has all the items it should to be uniformed with all other of its franchise. It is a very clean store, shelves well stocked. Always enough registers open, line runs through quickly. Had a problem where something needed to be returned. They had no problem accommodating my needs. Lost a receipt the second time and the sales rep looked it up. They are amazing in these ways. Sad thing is you must go with personal knowledge, if not they don't know much about products. Left the first time with 2 components which didn't even go together. Normally at any other speciality shop, knowledge is a must. They wouldn't let me get flea spray for my fish tank. read more

Half of this is that Pet Smart has products which are wholly very cheap/poorly made/often dangerous and they buy from bad vendors. The other half is that, after losing my entire family and even my dog to natural deaths in the past year, offering my services to them with 24 years dog experience, they wanted me but totally screwed me around because they are so unorganized. This generically is a horrible store, this location is even the worst of the worse. Go online to buy better quality at lower prices. This particular store is unorganized, their sales reps are tense which reflects unprofessional management from S and M (manager initials), and is a store I would never shop at for any reason. Why would you? Go online and learn, you will be much happier. Most of the staff at this store don't even know dogs - like ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Horrible. If you don't know where to go try dogsupplies.com, kingwholesale.com drfostersmith.com to start - there are others. The quality of PetSmart products is bottom basement compared to the price, this chain should be put out of business. These online (order their catalogs to see) are much higher quality for the much lower price, and you do not have to deal with sub-par people who do not even know dogs. read more

I dropped my dog off to get groomed this morning and I told the groomer she does not like her feet to be touched. A few hours later my husband got a call from PetSmart as they said my 8lb shih Tzu was "Thrashing around" and they were unable to complete the groom and we needed to come pick her up as they were concerned for her safety. I called and talk to the manager and he said that he "empowers his groomer that if they don't feel comfortable to stop the grooming and that there are notes on my account that say that she is "difficult". My question to him was did they groom her at all he said he didn't see the dog yet as she was in her kennel. I also told him that in the 11 year (she's old) that I have taken my dog to PetSmart I have never received a call from a groomer saying they can't complete the task so what makes her different he couldn't answer that. He said well today will be no charge to you and we can reschedule and have one of our lead groomers try next time. read more
