DO NOT BRING YOUR PETS HERE. On 4/13, my dog Penny was dropped off for grooming services. They were instructed to give her a small hair cut around her legs and behind area along with her paw pads. Upon, pick up we were given her back completely botched and with the worst haircut possible. She is a golden retriever she should've never been shaved with a mushroom head. The lines are so crooked anybody else could've done a better. I have worked in pet care before, I know this is not how grooming appointments should go. I spoke to the "manager" the following day to which she said "human errors" happen and I could bring her back for them to "fix" it , there was no fixing this you can't glue hair back on. This was not just human error this was neglect. Pennys hair will probably never grow the same.

A pic of our sweet girl the day that we took her to get groomed.

Terrible customer service! I am very disappointed with Woofers. If I could, I would give Zero stars. We met several of their employees at an event in the Spring where we took our Sheepadoodle. At that time, she was about 6 mos old and hadn't had her first groom yet. They were very nice and told us they would be happy to groom her, as they are doodle owners themselves. Due to scheduling conflicts we weren't able to get her in right away and used another groomer, but were very much looking forward to taking her to Woofers. That time finally came last week and we couldn't believe they way we were treated. When we first walked in there were two kids running around and the lady behind the desk looked flustered, telling them to "go play elsewhere." She didn't greet us nicely at all, knowing it was our first time there, but was just very matter of fact, "Name? Address? Good phone number? What breed is your dog?" She never once engaged with our baby, even though we placed her on the counter. She briefly looked at the top of her head and said, "She's matted. The humane thing to do is to shave her head completely. You won't be happy when you pick her up." Wait, what? She had a small mat on top of her head and one on her ear and you want to completely shave her? You can't brush it out or use scissors? "No, we don't use scissors here, only clippers. I have to get under the mat to clip it out, so I'll have to shave her whole head down." But we specifically brought her here bc you said you're an expert with doodles, but you're telling us you won't take the time to get a couple mats out, you'll just shave her entire head? That sounds extreme. What if you have a dog come in that has long hair and needs groomed, you don't trim their hair with scissors? "We use clippers and the longest blade we have is 1 inch." So every dog that leaves here has hair that's an inch long or less? That makes no sense. "I'm telling you now that you won't be happy when you pick her up, so we're probably not a good fit for you." I scooped our baby up and walked out at that point. Never in my life have we been treated so rudely! Never have we had anyone meet our Annie and not say how cute she is. This lady was rude and impersonal. We honestly felt as if she would treat our sweet girl badly if we left her. When we got in the car, I was shaking and wanted to cry bc I couldn't believe what we had just encountered. I don't know if the lady was having a bad day, if the kids running around were on her last nerve, or what, but she didn't seem like she even likes dogs! I don't remember her name bc I left so upset but she had brown hair and this was in the afternoon on Wednesday October 25. We have several friends who are also looking for groomers for their doodle pups and they were waiting for our review of Woofers, we contacted them and said, "Do not take your baby there!!" Extremely disappointed.

    Needs a haircut!

I love Woofers! They are the nicest staff. Very helpful always when I have a health question for my Abby girl. This is the only place I will take my dog to. Plus they have a lot of varieties of just about anything you might need. Plus my little girl always comes back looking beautiful.

My adorable pomeranian after her groom at Woofers

Woofers is hands down one of the best grooming salons in the area! They've also got an awesome pet shop attached that carries high quality food, treats, and supplies. They sell Orijen small breed which I was getting on Amazon but I'd rather support a local business and the price is actually a couple dollars less at Woofers. My favorite thing about Woofers is the staff and how well they treat my pompom Mitzi. They're great people who love dogs and I trust them with my baby. Just had her groomed yesterday for the first time ever and I'm OBSESSED with how cute she looks!!! :)

Woofer is amazing and their employees are very helpful and knowledgeable. When we arrive I feel like I'm at a friends business. Love them!!

Take my dog here once a week when I can! Get his nails done and buy dog food I can only find here. I love their dog cakes and their long treat line they have tons of reasonably priced toys and everyone is always friendly. They even worked with my dog when he was a puppy he hated to have his nails being ground. They didn't charge me if they couldn't get his full nails and helped me with ways to get him used to the feeling. It's been 5 years now and I still come here haven't found a better place out there.

Edited for Update: I do want to mention that after posting this review, the business owner left a message for us offering to fix the haircut on our pup. We have yet to get back to them due to our busy schedules, but do appreciate their efforts to provide their clients with service that meets expectations. Our regular groomer referred us to Woofers as they were told to reduce their capacity (due to COVID), so we decided to try the grooming services here. The check in process was quick and easy, and the staff were very kind and accommodating. Upon seeing our pups once I returned home, however, I was pretty disappointed in the quality of the grooming. One of our dog's hair is incredibly uneven, and not the length that we requested. I think what concerns me the most, however, is the nail trim that was done on our other dog. All of the nails are uneven, some are chipped, some were cut at an angle making them very sharp. It feels as though there was a lack of experience or perhaps they were rushed. I generally do not like to leave a negative review , but our dogs are incredibly important members of our family and leaving them with somebody to groom or care for them is a big display of trust. As I mentioned, I have heard many great things, we did have some positives in this experience including the haircut on one of our pups, and the staff were very welcoming, I just wish the grooming had been a better experience all around.

Based on my experience on July 8 and July 9, I cannot recommend this company to other pet owners. I scheduled grooming appointments for both of my dogs and the groomer arrived late. After the grooming was completed, my dogs were left locked in kennels for an additional hour after their service was completed instead of anyone calling to let me know they were ready. I only found out they had finished because I called the store to check on them. I gave very specific instructions for each dog's haircut, and none of those instructions were followed. The grooming did not resemble what I had requested for either dog. When I called to request a refund due to both the poor grooming and overall experience, I was transferred between multiple employees before finally speaking with the supervisor, Carol. From the moment she answered the phone, her tone was unprofessional and dismissive. She told me that I could receive a refund, but only if I returned to that specific store. I explained that I had traveled a significant distance to that location and would not be able to make another trip just to receive a refund. She responded that returning to the store was my only option if I wanted my money back. When I asked her to please refund the original payment method instead, she stated that she "didn't have time for this" and hung up on me. Later that day, I returned to the store to request my refund. Coincidentally, Carol was my cashier and I asked why she had hung up on me, and she claimed it was because I had been yelling. That simply isn't true. If PetSmart reviews its recorded phone calls, they will hear that I never raised my voice, used profanity, or behaved unprofessional in any way. The two employees I spoke with before being transferred to Carol can also confirm that. During our conversation in the store, I asked whether I could have received my refund at another PetSmart location. Carol responded, "Oh yeah, you can get it at any location." Had she not hung up on me earlier, that information would have saved me a long drive back to the original store. When I pointed that out, she simply shrugged her shoulders and motioned for me to move along while processing the refund. As she counted cash from the register, I asked if she could please refund the purchase to my original form of payment instead. She ignored my question entirely and continued counting the money without acknowledging me. Only after she finished did she look up and say that debit card purchases are refunded in cash because "it's on the receipt." The entire experience--from the late appointments, poor grooming, lack of communication, inaccurate information, and dismissive customer service--was unacceptable. I expected much better from a company this size that people trust with the care of their pets. Carol, do better you old hag.

In the past grooming staff has injured my dog by giving him a bath, putting him in a drying kennel without first doing his nails. This resulted in him, standing up in the kennel and ripping off one of his declaws by having it get caught in the drying kennel. This was my first negative experience with this store, the only redeeming factor was Tee who had bathed my dog and provided excellent customer service and care to my senior Great Pyrenees. Tee is the only reason I remained loyal to this location as I've never encountered any issues with them. This last 3 days I've been trying to get my dog into the groomers with an appointment that was already scheduled. Due to the last injury that was mentioned above, PetSmart does not allow my dog to be put in a kennel so when I take my dog to the groomers, they force me to pay an extra fee so my dog isn't kenneled during the service, even though this is a problem caused by their negligence. Apparently I also can't schedule this kind of "express service" online so I unknowingly scheduled the wrong type of bath/brush/haircut. We brought him in and not only did. The staff belittled me and made me feel like it was my fault that this oversight wasn't caught and they rescheduled me for a few days out which was inconvenient but it's whatever they could've been kind about it. Today, i dropped off my dog and explained his grooming needs as he had just been seen by my vet and treated for a hotspot that's fully healed. 15 minutes after dropping off my dog I got a call that they were unable to provide my pet a grooming service as "his feet were wet". Then two groomers tried to explain to me that because he had wet feet, He had an open wound that was caused by yeast and bacteria then advised me to take my dog to the vet for antibiotic treatment. They explained to me that it is PetSmart policy that the animal will be sent home if they're showing signs of an open wound. I asked their manager to show me this policy and they explained they were not allowed to do so. -I'd also like to mention that we live in Washington and this last weekend we have had half an inch of rain...- I'm incredibly dissatisfied with my experience, I will no longer be bringing my dog to this grooming salon, I simply wish the staff was willing to aid me in coming to a solution rather than telling me, I'm a neglectful pet parent through a policy, they couldn't even show me. My dog is a senior and has had redness on his feet his entire adult life, his feet smelled completely normal and we're not showing any signs of yeast overgrowth. It was unfortunate that I was being gaslit by staff into thinking that my dog is in distress and in dire need of going to the vet when in reality he stepped on wet soil before going into the groomer when he was going to the bathroom and he is completely fine. That was also confirmed after sending photos of the alleged incident to my LICENSED veterinarian who agreed, my dog isn't having a serious infection or yeast overgrowth. Aside from that it would be nice to have all that wasted time back. 0/5 stars :/

I called ahead to ask whether Vetco Vaccination Clinic would honor services we had already purchased at a Vetco Total Care Hospital so we wouldn't be double-charged. Thankfully, they did honor it. The woman on the phone was incredibly patient, kind, and helpful - she is truly the only reason this location is getting any stars at all. Unfortunately, the actual appointment was a very different experience. My husband took our dog in, and he said the visit was unpleasant from start to finish. The nurse who administered our dog's vaccinations was rough and came across as aggressive and unkind. She slowly crept up on our dog, which felt intimidating rather than calming. After that, she made comments like "what's wrong with you," "chill," "relax," and "tantrum" when our dog was understandably uncomfortable. I may not be a professional, but creeping up on a dog doesn't seem like the best approach. She also attempted to weigh our dog and seemed confused, telling him to get on the scale even though she hadn't placed him fully on it in the first place. Overall, her demeanor felt mean and impatient, and it didn't seem like she enjoyed her job - or even liked dogs. At the end of the visit, my husband handed our dog's vaccination passport to another employee so the vaccination stickers could be added. That employee wasn't sure what to do with it or where the stickers should go. The nurse then snatched the passport out of his hands and added the stickers herself, which came off as rude and unprofessional. All in all, this was not a positive experience, and I would not recommend this Vetco location. We will not be returning for future services. Good luck to anyone who chooses to go here.

I put my dog into boarding August 17-21, 2023 with Shaggy Shack; Thursday afternoon to Monday morning. My dog has a muscle dystrophy disorder that effects anywhere in her body that has collagen. At less than 2 years old, she has severe arthritis in her elbows. I let Shaggy Shack know of her disorder prior to leaving her with them. I even wrote a note and taped it to her food container. I spoke with 2 workers, 1 manager, and then finally the owner. None of the stories matched with the others. When I spoke with Tonya, the owner, I explained how I received my dog and that her inflammation could only be that severe if she was not given her medication. Tonya said "the girls could have missed some medications, we're not perfect." I asked for a refund, to which she said "we won't be administering a refund because that would be admitting we did something wrong." My dog was returned to me with dried blood and sticky from pee, how is that right? I have no answers I'm satisfied with, only multiple stories of what may or may not have happened to my disabled dog. At this point, I paid to have her be grossly neglected. Tonya provided a med sheet 4 days later to try to claim they gave my dog her medication, even though my hydrotherapist (who I had look over my dog for other injuries) agreed her condition could've only been that bad if she had not received her medication. Tonya shifted the blame to me, saying "You chose to bring her to a highly stimulated setting instead of staying home with your handicapped pup." I trusted Shaggy Shack to care for my dog as if she were your own, as the website claims the business would do. I will not make that error again and suggest others not to as well. Do better.

I would highly recommend though. I like our home spot, but his one has something very special about it. Bernard loves playing with dogs, but when its raining at our normal spot he ends up sitting inside with some outside time and not a lot of dog socialization... or at least that is my guess. When he comes home on rainy days he is not all that tired. In fact he seems like he just hung around all day instead of playing. The first time we took him to Shaggy Shack it was raining and I thought he was going to come home not tired at all. Oh man was I wrong. He was knocked out and it was in a way that leads me to believe not only does he get to play with dogs, but he has moments of thinky time or play time with humans. I cant say for sure, but I love how he comes back those days. Clearly wore out from a day of fun. I really like this place but unfortunately its a bit of a drive to do daycare daily especially when we have an on base option right next to my wife's work. I will say though they are definitely going to be our go to for boarding. The one major downside to our normal spot is there are no options for drop off pick up on Sundays. A lot of our trip or time where we need to board is Just saturday evening. This gives us the opportunity to board and pick up when we return and not have to board an extra night. In addition we had a last minute boarding need when I was too lazy to get boarding scheduled at our normal spot and it worked out perfectly. I highly recommend this place. Its not on base so anyone can use. The place is huge. Staff knowledgable and friendly and overall I have nothing but positives about here. I wish their location was closer, but thats not a negative, just a desire to make my life easier.

We love her to pieces, but our sole focus was trying to manage her environment. Some of our "management" techniques included: cardboard blocking the slider so she wouldn't see and yell at the neighbors, or the squirrels; a heavy rope martingale harness to walk her to the car; blacked out the back windows of our car so she couldn't see out and yell at every pedestrian (and scratch at the windows); we could not walk her; she had to be completely sedated to be seen by a vet; we could only board her at a kennel an hour and a half away; she could not be introduced to visitors. Our goal was to keep everyone safe, but when we ended up at the E-vet with our Corgi (Lexi) we realized we were not up to the task and looked for help. Every interaction with Amani K9 has been professional, empathetic, direct and effective. From our first contact we felt supported and understood. We didn't know what to expect, but they were clear about what services they could provide and how to proceed. Our evaluation with Marianna and Synclair was so informative, it's clear they know and love what they do and want to help. We left that meeting feeling more hopeful about Nyx than we had been in years. We enrolled in the 8 week board and train, and not everyone in our household was completely on board. (8 weeks is too long, why can't we visit, when can we see her, when can we love on her) We were in it for the long haul though, and Marianna even volunteered to be the bad guy, because we were NOT managing Nyx, we were just delaying a potential catastrophe. The next lapse might be worse than just an E-vet visit and some stitches. Those 8 weeks flew by, and while we had 6 "sessions" to teach us how to communicate effectively with Nyx, it's a steep learning curve. Imagine learning a new language while also learning to tango and having to match words with movement AND remain grounded and neutral. It's a real strain on the brain, and we had some baggage we were carrying around. (How am I supposed to keep #105 (now) of determined muscle from going wherever she wants to go with this teeny tiny ribbon of a leash?) Marianna and Synclair are ultimate "hype girls" though, able to give constructive feedback while still pointing out all the right things that you're doing. At the end of those 8 weeks, Marianna brought Nyx home, walked me through all the important new processes we were going to incorporate, and then said the most helpful thing ever: "I'm not just walking out the door and you'll never see or hear from me again, I'm just an email away." After Nyxy's first day home, our local sceptic realized how relaxed and calm Nyx was, sleeping on her cot. It was inconceivable to him, based on the Nyx of before times, that she could be anything but miserable if she was held hostage in her "place". After Nyxy's second day, he asked when we would be getting a "place" cot for Lexi. It's work, it's constant and forever work, but the Nyx we have now is so much calmer and at peace than we ever could have imagined. In our attempt to "manage" Nyxy's environment, we had shrunk her world so much, it's a joy and relief to be able to expand Nyx's world for a change. Amani K9 changed our lives, and we will be forever grateful.

Amani K-9 are legitimate trainers. We entered our 15 month old dogo argentino in the 8-week…read moretraining program due to him previously being a adopted from the humane society and struggling with issues of anxiety, recall, tantrums, and self-regulations. After just four weeks when we went to parent train his temperament was so much different and he was able to work through his anxiety when it came to seeing other dogs, and outside distractions, follow commands consistently, and walk on a leash properly alongside us without pulling or just walking aimlessly. It has created a whole new level of respect in our relationship with our pup where he trusts us Amani K-9 are truly legitimate trainers. We enrolled our 15-month-old Dogo Argentino in their 8-week training program after adopting him from the Humane Society. He had been struggling with anxiety, recall, tantrums, and self-regulation. After just four weeks, during our parent training session, we noticed a remarkable difference in his temperament. He was able to manage his anxiety around other dogs and outside distractions, follow commands consistently, and walk calmly on a leash beside us--no more pulling or wandering aimlessly. This program has completely transformed our relationship with our pup. He now trusts us more deeply because not only did he learn how to regulate himself, but we also learned how to help him do so. He stays in place on his mat without following us around or begging for food--it's like having a completely different dog! We're so glad we chose Amani K-9. We feel more confident and connected in our relationship with our dog because we better understand him, and he knows exactly what we expect of him.
