I believe we found our new dog groomer. Our old groomer retired and we were having a hard time finding another place to be a regular customer. When we dropped off our dog, we told them what areas to keep long and that's exactly what we got. Our dog was very happy. 03/29/2019 My rate is for customer service provided by phone by the owners assistant. We called to make an appointment for our dogs. We were told they couldn't find us in the system. We called back a bit later, left a voicemail and then called back again. Finally we spoke to the assistant, I get it if they are busy and have a full schedule but there was no effort in helping us schedule the appointments. Honestly it seemed as they don't need anymore business. Never informed us of any times or dates available, wasn't accommodable. I understand it takes a longer time to groom bigger dogs but it really wasn't the case. We keep up with their nails and hair at home between seeing the groomer. My dog has been groomed for many years, we stayed loyal to a amazing groomer till she retired. Communication is key, a simple we aren't taking big dogs anymore would have been fine. On our first appointment our original date was canceled at the last minute and I still gave this business a try but unfortunately I won't anymore. Customer service is a plus for me and unfortunately today must have been a bad day for the person answering the phone. read more

I have a very picky, and skittish small dog. He's sweet but can be a handful. I was very pleased with Dominique. My dog had a very traumatic and painful experience with a groomer a couple of years ago; so much so that we BOTH have anxiety around grooming days. Usually after going to groomers he hides away under the couch for a long while, but he was very happy with however Dominique handled him and he looked ADORABLE. His coat was gorgeous after his visit. This is the first time I can say that, as our previous grooming experiences always left them tired and scared after a long 7-8 hours. Had my first visit last week OMG best groomer ever!! It smelled lovely and was so quiet I would have thought I was in the wrong place if I didn't see all the dog stuff. My dog is a bit skittish around new people even nippy and the groomer handled my dog so gently and sweetly that it seems like she made friends when other groomers couldn't. Angie the desk girl even sent me a pic of my dog sleeping comfortably after her groom and a small bag of biscuits just for Bubbles being a good girl! What service! She smelled heavenly and felt so soft and didn't seem to want to leave! We will never, ever go anywhere else! We made an appointment for 8 weeks out as we can see this groomer is pretty popular and I don't want to have a hard time getting in for an appointment. Outstanding Customer Service. Prior to becoming a client of South Hill Dog Grooming we took our dog(s) to the "big-box" stores for grooming. It wasn't at all personal and our dogs weren't thrilled to go. Since becoming clients of South Hill Dog Grooming our dogs love their "Spa Appointments," as we kindly refer to them. The owner (Jessica) always takes time to play a quick game of fetch with Gracie our 5 year old, Boston-Terrier. We adopted a Puggles (Athena) that shed's like no-tomorrow, which causes my husband to have severe allergies, so we opted to have her trimmed/groomed. It looks amazing and Athena loves the shave which makes her cool, comfortable and soft as can be. There was one review with only one star, disregard the negative comment, because this groomer truly cares about the animals when they are in their care. By the way A.B.'s negative comments were from a Saturday grooming day.. Saturday's are a day that are typically swamped, so please take that into consideration when you complain about the "time" issue.... Our daughter has a French Bull Dog that she now brings to South Hill Dog Grooming. Again, I cannot say enough positive comments about Jessica and Cindy who truly care about their animal clients. read more

Dominique was my dogs first groomer and was very patient with her. I've had her groomed multiple times and have yet to be dissapointed! She gets a bath, haircut, nail trimming and teeth brushed for $50. She also gets some doggie perfume that lasts a few days and smells great!
