This store has a wonderful grooming team! I take my corgi every couple of weeks for a bath, furminator treatment and nail trim and every time I am so happy with the results. You can tell that the groomers are fellow dog lovers when you walk in, and I have no doubt in my mind that they are taking great care of my dog. I also appreciate the pamphlet at the end that you get that states what was done and how your dog behaved, it's great information! I took my little dog to PetSmart for a bath and grooming at 2:30 today. I was told I would receive a call when she was done, around 6:00. I shop at the Watt Ave location a few times a month and they always provide excellent customer service. Today I was really disappointed that PetSmart has discontinued my dogs favorite canned food but the great part was how helpful the cashier was. My receipt says cashier number 355806 (I wish I had gotten her name). She was able to tell me immediately why they no longer had the food and asked one of her peers to check the back for any left over stock, her peer happily went to check. It turned out they did have a few cans which of course I bought. My cashier gave me some great ideas on how I may find what I was looking for. These two helpful employees turned my unhappy finding into a great customer service experience. Thank you!! read more

PetSmart would not enroll my dog for training -- simply because she was born blind. She is a nice, gentle Boxer that gets along wonderfully with my other three dogs. I have found that dogs do not have an issue with my Boxer's blindness. But *people* do. Sigh. read more

so, our kitty gets a lion cut frequently, usually 50-60 bucks with nails/ear's included. Other petsmarts give you a report card of how your animal did, and recommendations. This shop stunk, literally. I expect a dog/cat smell, or even urine, but afterwards, my husband turned to me, and said "What was that?". It was foul. Additionally, we tried to buy cat food(on the shelf) called, "prescription renal diet". and the girl at the counter had a fit, our old area just sold it to us citing the phrase, "why would be demand a prescription if you want to feed your cat $60 food". We said, "ok, we'll get it elsewhere", and she turned it into this huge deal, when we just kept saying, "it's ok, we'll get it somewhere else!". In the end, the cat looks ok, no nail trim, it took 4 hours, and apparently he peed on himself while he was there, because he was so scared(this has never happened at any of the 10+ cuts he's ever had). They also didn't label him, so it legit turned a pickup into, "The gray and white cat, with the collar?" Post it's are cheap, put it on the carrier... They also wrote his name wrong, our address wrong. aside from the cat turning out alive, and decently shaved, not so impressed. No call for pick up, we just kept calling, and calling. Set up an appointment for my dog. Mainly needed her nails done, but thought I would look to see how much it would be to pamper her. They don't give grooming prices online, just walk-in prices ,so I called. As I'm looking at the web page , the gentleman tells me the "package" that I am looking at costs $16. Says I need her rabies shot record. I go in for my appointment today, and they proceed to inform me that I had to pay $49.95 for a physical, before they could groom her! I told them that I pay a professional veterinarian for those services. I will never step foot into a PetSmart again, and will tell everyone I know how misleading their advertising is! read more

Just had a terrible experience with Paulina, a manager at this location. A leash I had bought here broke and almost injured myself and my dog. I did not have the receipt I shop at petsmart at least twice a week and certainly don't have space to keep all those receipts. She refused to look it up in the system because she was "so busy" there was 2 other people in the whole store and another worker on register. She was extremely rude to me and seemed to excited to be a total jerk to me and my family. She was all too happy to tell us that she was the only manager here tomorrow as well so that we could not speak to anyone else about this problem. After spending hundreds of dollars in this store and never having an issue... I'm considering no longer shopping here. I can't believe they sold me something that broke, almost injured me and my dog, refused to refund/exchange the item, and belittled me like that. I have never been treated that way before. I won't be returning to this store unless I find out Paulina is no longer working there. Anyone have any advice as to who I can speak to about this woman's behavior? Well..how things have changed. Took my dog in last month and I swear to you I had a phone call less than 45 min. after I dropped my dog off. I barely got home and in the door! Now can someone please tell me how you can properly bath, brush teeth, grind (not cut nails), clean ears, dry and brush a dog in that amount of time????That's what I thought..you can't..If you can then I won't be coming back to you either. My dogs nails were not ground and feet still smelled which is always a sign things were being rushed..strange on such a slow day. I am shopping for a new place. I don't like Travis. He always seems stressed out and is rude. In the past, I have had good experiences with the other groomers, but not lately. The last few times, my dog has been cut so close, her neck was bloody. Today, I called for an appointment for tomorrow or Monday, and without pause, Travis snapped, "THERE IS NOTHING UNTIL TUESDAY". We shop this petsmart every Saturday come from the natomas area and although Truxel is right down the street we prefer the drive to Watt Ave. location the staff there is great very professional as well as friendly they go that extra mile to ensure that our large order is always as complete as possible and the bonus of price matching is great. If I could give the grooming department no stars, I would. Took my puppy here to get groomed, I specifically told the lady not to shave his body hair, come back two hrs later to find my puppy completely shaved of his hair! Poor guy was shivering when I got there and clearly frightened. When questioning the woman she claimed that she couldn't brush some tangles out, I brush my puppies hair every day so clearly she either found some that she didn't feel like brushing out or she was lying. The workers seem to not want to do the heavy lifting so maybe shaving him would just be easier and quicker smh. Regardless she should have called me in and showed me before shaving him completely. There was also skin taken off his nose, clearly they are not very careful when dealing with animals. Also on my way out she told me my puppy had "issues" I was appalled. When we called to complain the assistant manager was of no help and very defensive and rude. We decided to then call corporate. It is not okay to do something an owner clearly tells them not too and then behave in this way. My poor puppy is traumatized since he got home. Also every time Ive been there Ive asked for the puppy package which is around 17$ on their website, every time got charged for little add ons that come to find a few visits later those "add ons" are already included in the package. So they try to charge you more maybe to pocket some extra money as a tip, I will not be bring my little boy back here to get groomed and I would warn others to be cautious when dealing with their grooming department. read more

Dr. Conner was the most understanding, kind, down to earth, compassionate, and helpful vet I have ever delt with. She made difficult, choices so much easirer. I wanted to leave a great review because I got my cat here. Unfortunately she wasn't apart of their adoption program but was being given away in the front of the store. Petsmart donated a carrier, a litter box and cat food to us (we were unprepaired to take home a cat that day!) Their compassion for animals was very inspirational and refreshing. I always shop here now and love to visit the cats they have up for adoption. We recently purchased a larger carrier and got a great deal. read more

Idk what all the bad reviews are - and theyre recent!?!? I have never - NOT ONCE - have had a problem here. Haven't tryed thr groomer because I groom my own dog because grooming saloons are for long haired dogs with prissy owners anyways. My review is for banfield and the training and the store. Pretty everything but grooming lol. Wow some people man lol. I bet if most of these people even had a good experience they would still find something to bitch at and put it on yelp haha no lifers. Let me defend this store. My dog got hit by a car when he was a puppy and his leg and tail got ran over. Luckily I was on the year plan they have at banfield I saved over $2, 000 because office visits were free and we went everyday for 2 months basically for free. When we got there they were sure we would have to amputate the tail but it healed all the way. They tryed to tell me it was my and it healed because I took care of it but I know its because of the good job they did. And how much they cared about me and my dog and noting that they cared about how I felt about ny dog being ran over (I was a mess). He was in the puppy training class at the time. Btw micheal is the BEST dog trainer in sac. He was cool and nice enough to give ne private lessons (at np additional cost) once his leg and tail healed. After the one on ones I am a proud owner of a very well behaved petsmart loving dog :) also they sell antlers there which is a plus because my pooch just luvs em. The store is ALWAYS clean and has NEVER had a bad smell. Take it fron me - I went everyday for months. I feel that this particular location is the only place that would have taken so much care of me. Honestly they have awesome vets there that tell you everything you need to know. Anytime you ask any worker at banfield or petsmart they know what they fuck their talking about and help out a bunch. And are super nice. I love walking in all the workers know my dog and luv him and he luvs them . He knows bad people he growls at them. But he loves the people here proving they are truly nice and good people and not just throwing on a fake smile. Go there today and adopt a pet - save a life and go get a new best friend :) if you dont know how to raise it they will help you there. Showing you everything you need everything from what food to get to what toys they need and why and what to watch for . Good Samaritan took injured cat to this PetSmart vet. Was told the bill would be $600. As a person doing right but not the owner of the cat, she offered $100 but could not contribute more. PetSmart willingly took her $100 and then called her later in the day insisting that she pick this cat up and take it to an emergency vet where it probably needed to stay for 3 days at a likely cost of $1,500. She was told if she did not pick the cat up, it would be put down. (So much for "do no harm"!) This kind person dealt with this gruesome thought all day in spite of her insistence that it was not her cat and not her decision to make. Good Samaritan received a call from animal control today that the cat had been brought in as "injured". PetSmart vet subjected a serious animal lover to the thought that she had taken this cat to its death. Shame on them! Oh - and, their diagnosis was incorrect. Their $$$ worth of x-rays were useless. The cat is fine. Shame. Shame. Shame. read more

Took my dog here for a bath. It took over two hours and when I picked him up he was still wet. I realize he's a lab and they take a while to dry but the whole reason of having someone else bathe him was so that I didn't have to enjoy the wet dog smell. Not really worth the money if you have to bring your dog home and dry him yourself. It also irked me that they wrote the wrong name on his "report card." I'm a stickler for details and if you aren't keeping your dogs straight it worries me what else you aren't paying attention to. read more

I have taken the beginning, intermediate, and advanced dog training at this location. I have found their trainers to be well educated and the program set up to be complete. I especially found the trainers to be open to questions and concerns. I definately have and will recommend folks for their dog training needs. read more

I've shopped at this store for years and everything seemed fine. However, in the past few months, there seems to be a stocking and/or ordering problem. There is very little on the shelves and when I ask if there is stuff in back, I am continually told that the trucks come in on Monday, Wednesdays, and Fridays and to come on those days. Fine, so I come in on those days in the afternoon and still very little inventory. I ask again and am told that the trucks come late and they don't have time to unload and stock. So, when am I supposed to shop here? When is there inventory? This week alone, I've gone three times and have only bought about 1/8 of the supplies I need for the month. I don't understand why they can't keep inventory. Aren't they in the business of providing products for sale? I absolutely do not want to travel to this store more than once or twice a month. This is ridiculous. I'll just go to another store and save myself the headache. read more

I love PetSmart, I take our cocker spaniel for hair cut & bath. I always ask for "Gab" to groom my dog....he is very kind & patient with her. She is an older dog, and I feel good that Gab is always careful and kind when grooming her. Grooming Center Nightmare! My regular groomer (who I love and has never cut/nicked my dog) had to cancel my dog's appointment due to an emergency, so I decided to take my dog to the PetSmart Grooming Center. I stopped bringing her to PetSmart because the groomers always ended up cutting/nicking her. I picked her up and the groomer said she had some "hot spots" and she wouldn't let her clip her ear hair, but didn't indicate anything else happened to her. When I got home, I tried to pet my dog by the ear, and she yelped! I pulled back the fur on the outside of her ear and there was a large cut that was bleeding and a chunk of skin was missing. I immediately called the Grooming Center and spoke to the Grooming Manager. She said to bring my dog in so she could take a look. When I brought my dog in, I explained to her that no one in the grooming center told me my dog was injured. She said the groomer did mention "hot spots" and didn't want to take responsibility. The Grooming Manager had to leave because her shift was over and said the store Assistant Manager would finish up. The vet did not have an opening to check my dog's ear/injury, but he did take a quick look at it and said he couldn't tell if the groomer injured my dog's ear or not. I thought he was checking her to make sure she was ok, not who was to blame. I expressed my concern to the Assistant Manager that I should have been informed of the injury to my dog's ear and they should have treated it right away. She just gave me a dirty look and said I'll give you a antibiotic spray but she wouldn't accept responsibility and showed no compassion for my dog whatsoever. I told her I wanted a refund and how bad I felt about the way this was handled. She rolled her eyes and said FINE but you can NEVER bring your dog back. I was shocked at her attitude and told her I DEFINITELY would not bring my dog back. read more

Very disappointed and upset at the grooming department. 2nd time we have had issues. The first, we were in the parking lot a few minutes early for our appointment when the grooming department called to say the groomer called in sick and had to cancel. Less than 5 minutes before the appointment. Today, we show up for our appointment only to be told that our rabies certificate expired and didn't they tell us 4 days ago when we called? No they didn't tell us. If they did, I would have brought her rabies certificate with me. But no, it's at home and it's 7am so the vets office doesn't open until 8am. Their idea of accommodating us was to leave our dog segregated in a kennel for an hour until the vets office opened or we could drive 20 mins home and 20 back to bring her certificate. We left and will never give any Petsmart our business. Horrible customer service and very unprofessional. If I could give a 0 star, I would have. read more
