I've had to take a lot of time to process how I wanted to write this review... my experience was not what I hoped it to be... I'm giving 2 stars (which is a stretch in itself, but only for the vendors that have shared their products with this store to sell). The store front is cute, appealing and looks welcoming. The products are wonderful and my husband and I very much enjoyed what we bought. But that's as far as the good goes. The store owner (Lisa I think she said her name was?) came off rude and racist. I am a multiracial woman, my husband is white. When we walked in, with our German shepherd (I was handling him), she didn't greet us warmly or friendly and by us, I mean my dog and I. She was so nice and pleasant to my husband, but stood as far away asking multiple times if my dog would bite her dog. I repeatedly replied no, that he was very friendly and submissive to other dogs. She kept asking after I said this, but when my husband finally said no he was friendly, she quit asking. I tried many times to have pleasant conversation with her and I was asking questions about her shop and trying to be friendly. I understand not everyone is a fan of big dogs so maybe that was it. Her dog had treats it was eating on the floors scattered around the store, fine no issue. But she got slightly upset bc my dog ate it. I apologized repeatedly for it and she just ignored me. My husband would speak to her and she would come from behind the counter to talk to him, even walked outside with him when we finished our purchase so she could show him where to park, fine. But this is where it went even more sideways... as I was standing on the sidewalk with my dog, an Indian family walked by. She brazenly says to my husband, "all these Indian people make me so uncomfortable. There's so many of them." Then talks about something Israeli being on her phone and how she dislikes it so much and doesn't want to see "all that" on her own phone. Her entire demeanor towards me was so off and rude that I even said something on our way home to my husband which he even replied that it seemed extremely racist to comment on anyone let alone a family of color walking by to HIM and how she treated me. I so badly wanted a nice afternoon with my husband and my pup, but sadly my entire experience was ruined by the owner of this shop. My dogs love them, their favorite is the cheese and bacon cookie bones (very popular). I brought my dog here for his birthday and he received an epic pup cup, which he devoured. Definitely recommend this place if you love spoiling your pup! Pros: The owner is friendly and welcoming. She has her dog Boo with her in the store as well. We love having stores like these in the area that we can bring our dog and buy fun treats and toys. They have a bowl of water outside for passing dogs and inside they have a variety of treats, toys, and specialty items. While we were there we got to say hi to the shop dog and the owner gave our dog a treat to enjoy while we browsed. I bagged up some of the bulk treats and then a couple other pre-packaged treats and checked out with them. She offers her own baked goods too--always made with five or fewer natural ingredients. I've picked up treats, dental chews, clothes, and accessories for Chacho here before even thinking about going anywhere else. And funny enough, I've seen similar products at other shops, but the pricing here is better and the service is in a league of its own. Lisa doesn't just sell stuff--she builds relationships. We drove here to spoil our dog for her birthday because there are not a lot of dog boutiques in the area. We like to support smaller local stores so we were excited to try this location. Our initial interaction with the owner was a bit odd, as many have noted in their reviews, she has a bit of an awkward personality but I would like to say as a dog lover that I understand that people who love animals aren't always the best with people, so I am not really factoring that into the review. She did offer our dog treats, which was nice and she had a very calm little dog in the shop as well. The shop itself is cute and had a good selection of clothes. I was interested in multiple pieces, but nothing was marked with a price so I waited until I was finished browsing and asked about the cost. They were a bit high for me so I settled on just one jumper that she told me would cost $35. I wanted to get a cake and treats as well so I moved on to the bakery/snack section and again there was very little that had prices listed. I did see some small cupcake looking treats sitting out that said $2.50 which I thought was a great price (pictured). They were very cute. Unfortunately, when I went to grab a few, I noticed a layer of dust on them so I proceeded to the display case and found some that looked identical, without the dust, so I requested some of those instead. It was the same situation with the cake. I had to ask about each price individually. Ultimately I chose one and the owner commented that she had just made it yesterday. When I asked how long it would last, she replied that it should be good for about a week. When I went to pay, the cost was much higher than I had estimated but I was so happy and excited to spoil my pup I thought maybe I had grabbed more that I originally thought. I got my bag and box and loaded up my dog and then on my drive back I got a notification on my phone about the charge, as I always do. It was even higher still than the amount the owner told me at check out. I was driving, so I thought that perhaps it was tax that had bumped it up but the price difference was well over 10% so I wondered if there were fees or something as well. When I got home, I looked through the bags for the receipt but there wasn't one. I laid out the items and calculated again the prices I had been given and tried including tax. It was still far less than the original amount I was told at the counter and yet the charge on my card was even more. Then I read the many other reviews on this page that say the owner is deceptive about price and doesn't charge prices as quoted or shown. I was actually very upset, partially with myself for not addressing it in the moment but also with the owner who obviously does this regularly. Search the reviews for "Price" and "Pricing" and you will see a clear pattern. Although I tried not to let it spoil my dogs special day, it leaves a terrible taste in your mouth to feel like you have been taken. I have no issue spending a few hundred dollars on my dog for her birthday, but I do have an issue with feeling like I was treated dishonestly. And for those wondering, my dog did not like the cake at all but enjoyed the "frosting" on the cupcakes and she looks adorable in her little jumper. ***The owner posted a comment to my original review that is clearly meant for another customer. She repeatedly says "he" and states she "pressed the wrong button" and overcharged and talks about "when I called" ... However I am a female and I never called the business after my visit and our cake was not sliced so the slice fee and other issues she is discussing are clearly meant for another customer who did call to complain. I was really excited about this place because I love places that allow me to spoil my dog, but the experience was disappointing. I ordered a cream-filled bone-shaped treat and a bag of goodies for my pup's birthday weekend. Since I was out of town for a funeral, I sent my boyfriend to pick up the order with the confirmation I forwarded him. When he arrived and said he was picking up an order for Candace, the woman working there (possibly the owner) immediately questioned his identity and even implied he might be trying to steal the treats--despite him showing the confirmation. She argued with him and insisted it was a DoorDash order-- it wasn't. There were two options offered for online ordering-- "order online" or "DoorDash". I selected order online and my confirmation came directly from the business-- not DoorDash. She kept challenging him about the type of order it was and who he was even after saying mine was the only online order she'd received that day. He wasn't familiar with what I ordered exactly but the items were clearly listed on the confirmation he showed her --so why the back and forth? The whole interaction came off as rude, unnecessary, unprofessional and Karen-esque, and now I don't feel comfortable shopping there anymore. [The owner's response below proves her rudeness and lack of professionalism. Whether the man came in asking for cake or a treat --the fact is he came in and showed her a confirmation with the items ordered clearly listed. The order matched the online order received. All she had to do was hand him the bag and say thank you. Instead she treated him horribly. And my boyfriend wasn't startled by her dog. We're used to being around dogs-- we have a Rottweiler for goodness sake! Walking by one very windy and rain filled day we stopped in and the sun was gleaming inside as there were so many amazing items. It definitely brightened up our day and for our dog later on. This store is so adorable! It's become a Midtown staple. The dog treats are homemade and my pups LOVE THEM! There is nice selection of dog clothing and accessories, too. The great thing about the treats are there no fillers or allergens, which is lovely. I just went inside this boutique and treat place for puppies and doggos and it was unbelievably fun. Daisy had a good time and she was fed a lot of treats and I know her belly is happy. I wanted to get a little cake or treat for my baby frenchie's 1st bday. Lisa makes the cakes and treats daily. There were so many awesome treats tp choose from and on top of that - lots of clothing and accessories and toys. I didn't have my dog with me, but I knew I would want to return with her another time. The only tough thing and the -1 star is due to parking. I chanced it and parked near the restaurant in the alley, just because I knew it was gonna be a quick pick up, but I would not recommend. This store is amaazzzziingg. I was doing a doggy day out with a foster dog and brought him to to get him a treat. When I walked in the was another dog who was extremely well behaved. I was unsure of how the dog I brought in would react and the staff there immediately put the other dog into another room without complaint. The dog I was with got excited and started eating a treat before I paid and the staff was very kind and let him finish it and swept up the mess he made. She made an amazing suggestion for a toy he might like and gave him cookies that he deemed delicious. She gave us a bag of about 6 cookies for free that she said the icing was messed up on. It was requested that I pickup a small birthday package. I walked in to a dog making their prescence known with a bark and a jog towards me... no big deal as I'm not afraid of dogs. It did however seem as though my prescence startled the employee behind the counter. I informed her that i was there to pick up a."cake" as that's what i thought I was there to pick up. I answered No and showed her the confirmation eamil, to which she rudely stated "that's not for a cake" ok fine, but here's the text with the confirmation email. Nowhere on the xonfirmation does ot say that! When I again showe her the confirmation email she picked up the bag and as i was reachimg to take it she let it drop on the counter as to be touxhed in the process. I gave her my name , and asked for her's, which she "said" was Lisa. I thanked "Lisa" of that's your name and left! I should have read the reviews because it is true the older blonde hair lady who lets her dog run around the store without a leash on is very rude and uninviting. My dog is 11 and recently lost his hearing so he is selective about other dogs but isn't by any means aggressive but before I could even take a step in the door I was already being told not to come back with my dog. I've never had an issue at any pet store with him and other dogs but mind you everyone has their dog on a leash as well. In my opinion and maybe for quite of few other people who've come here could agree.. As the owner you're supposed to cater to the customer not us cater to you and your dog. Although she offered to put her dog in the back Her unwelcoming attitude towards my dog completely changed my mind about spending money or even looking in the store. We immediately walked right back out and instead went to Leash and Collar where they were so awesome and Pet Food Express where again the workers were so helpful and loving towards my dog. Did not have any issues with taking him in to these stores or being around the other dogs. 10/10 will not come back 10/10 will not recommend anyone coming here and will even suggest for people not to come here if I do ever hear someone bring it up. No tags on 90% of the items so you're playing a guessing game since the owner chooses to stand behind the counter and not engage or even offer if she can help. 1 "t-shirt" which is normally less $15 was $50 and a "sweater" that was super thick was the same price $50 and then a "coat" also $50. Items that did have tags showed $44.99, the receipt at the end isn't itemized, just shows your balance. Hard to tell how much things are but I've seen most of these items at Pet Smart for $30. I have two yorkies and today it's their birthday. It's my first time buying a doggie cake for my puppies . I was so excited to find Paws and The Palette but I had a terrible experience and never ever want to come back to this place. First, it's covid19 so I wore a mask to the store, it's not uncommon. The owner of the store did NOT wear a mask. Really, try to help the spread of covid19 by wearing a mask to protect yourself and the customers that supports you. Instead, I get stared at for wearing a mask. Two, there was no customer service here. When I first arrived, I tried taking pictures of the store because it's a cute boutique. The lady from the store walked out and stared me down. Then I figured that was the owner of the store. And yes, the owner, Lisa, was super rude when I was in the store. I asked about which cake was popular and what are the ingredients. Her answer was short and doesn't even want to answer me or help and I was the only one in the store!!! This place is really cute and is one of the only dog boutiques in Sacramento but there's a reason why it's always so empty. The owner is extremely rude and the customer service is horrible. I called the store and a woman answered with a very annoyed voice as if she didn't want to assist. I asked if they had cakes ready and she stated yes. So, I sent my boyfriend to pick up a cake for our pup. The owner acted as if she didn't want to help and gave him attitude when he asked where cakes were. We took our business somewhere else. Along my stroll of Midtown my dog alerted me to this dog bakery. Okay, so not really...saw it and poked my head in the door. Didn't want my pup to seize the opportunity to snag something down low, so I asked the woman working if it was okay for her to come in. Now I figured that she kept the treats on the table to discourage grazing. Instead, she (Lisa?) grabbed a few random treats and befriended/spoiled a brown and white fuzzy old lady. You can choose your own assortment of treats and put them in to a bag or they had pre-made bags for easy grab-and-go snacks for your pup. Grab some delicious looking treats but save them for the canines. I guess you could try them out? (They looked good enough for human consumption.) 100% recommend a visit. Super packed shop with lots of items for sale to spoil your dog. I don't always love the store, though, where lots of things do not have very obvious prices. Also, I found the person working there a little cold during our interactions. Maybe she didn't want to be working there on this given day. Anything you can imagine for your dog as a treat is here. Not only are there treats and baked goods, but also lots of accessories, clothing, beds, toys, etc. These are the type of brands that you wouldn't see in a big box store.
