    Little guys 10th birthday
    Wendy F.

First when you walk in, there's this cutie who is so friendly and says hi to everyone. A cute doggy in front of the register. Found this place from Yelp since I was looking for a dog cake for my little dudes 10th birthday. The store has so much treats, toys, and clothes to choose from. Easy process to order a cake, just talked to the gal up front and told her a pickup date and all the details, prepaid, and came in the day of to pick it up. The dogs LOVED the cake and was coming back for more. Definitely recommend stopping by to check it out.

Paws and The Palette is the kind of pet store that makes you wonder how you ever lived without it. I've lived in Austin, San Francisco, and Seattle--so I've been to my fair share of pet stores--and let me tell you, none of them compare to the experience Lisa has created right here in Midtown. From the moment you step inside, it just feels different: welcoming, warm, and filled with care. Lisa, the owner, is not only super friendly and approachable, but she genuinely looks out for your pet's well-being. I have a shy little chiweenie named Chacho, and she's always gone the extra mile for him. She personalized his birthday cake to meet his dietary needs, helped me find healthier, more natural treats, and even hunted down special items just to make sure he had what he needed. She offers her own baked goods too--always made with five or fewer natural ingredients. I've picked up treats, dental chews, clothes, and accessories for Chacho here before even thinking about going anywhere else. And funny enough, I've seen similar products at other shops, but the pricing here is better and the service is in a league of its own. Lisa doesn't just sell stuff--she builds relationships. It's rare and refreshing. Her dog Beu is part of the magic, too. Sweet, social, and always ready for attention, Beu somehow got my usually timid Chacho to warm up and feel at ease. That's no small thing. Street parking has never been a hassle, which is a plus. Just note that the store closes at 4pm, so plan accordingly. Paws and The Palette is more than a store--it's a place where you and your pet feel at home. And after living in multiple cities and visiting countless pet boutiques, I can confidently say: this one's the winner.

We drove here to spoil our dog for her birthday because there are not a lot of dog boutiques in the area. We like to support smaller local stores so we were excited to try this location. Our initial interaction with the owner was a bit odd, as many have noted in their reviews, she has a bit of an awkward personality but I would like to say as a dog lover that I understand that people who love animals aren't always the best with people, so I am not really factoring that into the review. She did offer our dog treats, which was nice and she had a very calm little dog in the shop as well. The shop itself is cute and had a good selection of clothes. I was interested in multiple pieces, but nothing was marked with a price so I waited until I was finished browsing and asked about the cost. They were a bit high for me so I settled on just one jumper that she told me would cost $35. I wanted to get a cake and treats as well so I moved on to the bakery/snack section and again there was very little that had prices listed. I did see some small cupcake looking treats sitting out that said $2.50 which I thought was a great price (pictured). They were very cute. Unfortunately, when I went to grab a few, I noticed a layer of dust on them so I proceeded to the display case and found some that looked identical, without the dust, so I requested some of those instead. It was the same situation with the cake. I had to ask about each price individually. Ultimately I chose one and the owner commented that she had just made it yesterday. When I asked how long it would last, she replied that it should be good for about a week. When I went to pay, the cost was much higher than I had estimated but I was so happy and excited to spoil my pup I thought maybe I had grabbed more that I originally thought. I got my bag and box and loaded up my dog and then on my drive back I got a notification on my phone about the charge, as I always do. It was even higher still than the amount the owner told me at check out. I was driving, so I thought that perhaps it was tax that had bumped it up but the price difference was well over 10% so I wondered if there were fees or something as well. When I got home, I looked through the bags for the receipt but there wasn't one. I laid out the items and calculated again the prices I had been given and tried including tax. It was still far less than the original amount I was told at the counter and yet the charge on my card was even more. Then I read the many other reviews on this page that say the owner is deceptive about price and doesn't charge prices as quoted or shown. I was actually very upset, partially with myself for not addressing it in the moment but also with the owner who obviously does this regularly. Search the reviews for "Price" and "Pricing" and you will see a clear pattern. Although I tried not to let it spoil my dogs special day, it leaves a terrible taste in your mouth to feel like you have been taken. I have no issue spending a few hundred dollars on my dog for her birthday, but I do have an issue with feeling like I was treated dishonestly. And for those wondering, my dog did not like the cake at all but enjoyed the "frosting" on the cupcakes and she looks adorable in her little jumper. ***The owner posted a comment to my original review that is clearly meant for another customer. She repeatedly says "he" and states she "pressed the wrong button" and overcharged and talks about "when I called" ... However I am a female and I never called the business after my visit and our cake was not sliced so the slice fee and other issues she is discussing are clearly meant for another customer who did call to complain. I guess when these things happen a lot it is hard to keep track.***

Email confirmation received from business--Not DoorDash.

I was really excited about this place because I love places that allow me to spoil my dog, but the experience was disappointing. I ordered a cream-filled bone-shaped treat and a bag of goodies for my pup's birthday weekend. Since I was out of town for a funeral, I sent my boyfriend to pick up the order with the confirmation I forwarded him. When he arrived and said he was picking up an order for Candace, the woman working there (possibly the owner) immediately questioned his identity and even implied he might be trying to steal the treats--despite him showing the confirmation. She argued with him and insisted it was a DoorDash order-- it wasn't. There were two options offered for online ordering-- "order online" or "DoorDash". I selected order online and my confirmation came directly from the business-- not DoorDash. She kept challenging him about the type of order it was and who he was even after saying mine was the only online order she'd received that day. He wasn't familiar with what I ordered exactly but the items were clearly listed on the confirmation he showed her --so why the back and forth? The whole interaction came off as rude, unnecessary, unprofessional and Karen-esque, and now I don't feel comfortable shopping there anymore. [The owner's response below proves her rudeness and lack of professionalism. Whether the man came in asking for cake or a treat --the fact is he came in and showed her a confirmation with the items ordered clearly listed. The order matched the online order received. All she had to do was hand him the bag and say thank you. Instead she treated him horribly. And my boyfriend wasn't startled by her dog. We're used to being around dogs-- we have a Rottweiler for goodness sake! And anyone with sight can see the confirmation came from the business and not DoorDash so for her to continue to argue that is insane. This woman is a piece of work. People who lack customer service shouldn't be in a customer facing business.]

What can i say besides it's PAWfect for yourself to pickup and indulge your furry friends. Walking by one very windy and rain filled day we stopped in and the sun was gleaming inside as there were so many amazing items. It definitely brightened up our day and for our dog later on. So many treats to choose from literally. They have sweet, savory hard, soft and things in between. If your dog has allergies or even diet restrictions let them know as they have options for those too. If you're thinking about a birthday treat, everyday treat, need some new swag for your puppers, toys or just want to look they will for sure have something to catch your eye. The owner was sweet and helpful and has a beautiful puppy there to greet you.

Loved everything they had in the store!! So many options!! Different unique treats and cupcakes , and beautiful cakes of different sizes. My dog loved his cake. Owner was very nice. I believe his cake was peanut butter and banana.

Paws & The Palette is hands down my favorite dog bakery! They have such an amazing variety of homemade goodies, from beautifully made dog cakes and treats to fun toys and unique pet items you don't see anywhere else. Every treat looks like it was made with so much love and care, and my pup absolutely devours them! The customer service is outstanding--friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help you find the perfect treat or gift for your furry friend. The shop itself is clean, beautifully set up, and so much fun to browse. It's truly a gem in town, and I can't recommend it enough for anyone looking to spoil their pets with something special.

Absolutely LOVE Lisa! She always comes through with the best birthday cakes for my Boston Terrier, Winnie. I sent her a picture of what I was hoping she could make and of course like always Lisa produced a cake that was stunning and way better than I even imagined. I'm very picky about what I feed my dog. When it comes to treats that Lisa makes and sells I know it's the best of the best for my fur baby along with the cleanest organic ingredients. Paws And The Palette have the most amazing clothes, toys, treats, and hands down the BEST customer service. Lisa, loves her customers and is very passionate about what she does. I drive over an hour one way to shop at Paws And The Palette and it's absolutely worth it. I will NOT go to any of these "bark crew" chain stores who sell dog cookies and cupcakes that have just crap ingredients. Thanks again Lisa and Boo - you guys once again out did yourself!

Thank you for the treats today Lisa! Cute pup! Will come back again. I appreciate the time to get back to me

This is a wonderful place for dog lovers. I went in to check it out and I was pleasantly surprised on how well stocked with treats and accessories for all dogs. The Blonde lady that was there was so nice and welcoming. She said to look around and if I needed help or had any questions to let her know. She was very nice. This business has everything you would need for your dog. When I completed my purchase and was about to leave she asked about my puppy who was outside. She also offer a pup-a-chino which was the Most amazing PUP-A-CHINO I have ever seen! She definitely made my puppy and me so happy!! I will definitely be back!

The managers, Decelle and Brie, are absolutely amazing. They don't just sell pet food; they truly educate you on the benefits of what you're feeding your pets. To give you an idea of how much they care: a few years ago, a friend's dog was suffering from severe knee issues. I connected her with Decelle, who recommended a specific holistic diet. Fast forward to today, and that dog is completely free of those knee problems! That kind of expertise is priceless. They walked me through some of the incredible raw and freeze-dried options they carry, and the nutritional benefits are mind-blowing: OC Raw Dog Food & Green Juju Lamb Recipe (Frozen Raw): These are packed with premium, unprocessed proteins, natural enzymes, and organic produce. They are incredible for improving digestion, supporting joint health, and boosting overall immune function. Vital Essentials Salmon Bites: Loaded with natural Omega-3 fatty acids, which are essential for reducing inflammation, supporting joint mobility, and giving your pet healthy skin and a shiny coat. Snook's Sweet Potato Dog Chews: A fantastic, natural alternative to rawhide. They are low-fat, highly digestible, and packed with fiber and vitamins to support gut health. Northwest Naturals Beef Heart (Freeze-Dried): A nutrient-dense powerhouse. Beef heart is naturally rich in CoQ10, iron, and B vitamins--perfect for boosting cardiovascular health and energy levels. OC Raw Freeze-Dried Venison Pieces: A super lean, "novel" protein. This is an absolute lifesaver for dogs with common food allergies or sensitive stomachs who still need high-quality muscle support. Beyond the top-tier nutrition, the store is perfectly set up for pet parents. They have an awesome dog wash right on site, and--a huge rare bonus for Midtown--they have plenty of dedicated parking! Whether you're dealing with a specific health issue or just want to optimize your pet's diet, go see Decelle and Brie. Your dog will thank you!

I clearly stated that this was my puppy's first grooming appointment and that he still had not received his rabies vaccine. Once again, I was assured that it was not an issue. However, when I arrived for the appointment, I was turned away because my puppy didn't have a rabies vaccination. This was incredibly frustrating because I had already made special arrangements at work, took my lunch break later than usual, and coordinated with my daughter to pick up the puppy after his appointment. If this is your policy, that's completely understandable--but I should have been told that from the beginning, especially after asking twice. Instead, I wasted my time, rearranged my day, and left feeling very disappointed. Better communication and consistency with customers would have prevented this entire situation.
