Today we tried to get a pedicure for our dog, stood in line for 20 minutes, employees walking past and around us. Not one acknowledged us although others were being helped. When we left I told the employee, that had walked past us numerous times, " the customer service was horrible". His response " If it's that bad don't come back". No worries, we won't! read more

I just had the best experience at this Petsmart. We had gone in before and spoken with Brandon? About getting pet mice. We went back a few weeks later and he was still there, and just as helpful. We bought everything we needed, and there was a small problem with the merchandise but the manager Garrett fixed what could've been a big problem and made it a small problem. Thanks! Do not take your pets here for grooming. Lugged my 3 large dogs here after being at my same groomer for 5 years because I heard their furminator service option was good. After trying to manage my 3 dogs and do their corporate paperwork at the same time they start to take my dogs back and proceed to tell me if they go to the bathroom more than once in their care they have to call their vet and I can pick them up there ??? Wtf? I tell them no way. They then explain we'll... they'll call me first. My instinct told me to take them but they talked me into giving them a chance. No sooner than 10 min after leaving the store they call me saying my one dog was biting the cage and pawing it so I need to come pick him up immediately. What a joke! My dogs are not vicious nor have any behavioral issues. This was a brand new environment with new people and 10 min later I'm getting a call. I then proceed to pick up all three of my dogs. What a waste of a morning with this store. Unless your dog is a robot I wouldn't recommend this place! Support a small business groomer here in Simi where they actually care about your pet and can deal with normal behavior from a dog. read more

This is probably the worst experience I have dealt with. For being a first time owner of a puppy I would expect for the employees at PetSmart to carry some knowledge of animals. No where in my experience from Emily and the manager did I feel welcomed or informed. They discouraged my whole experience and made it a point to never give my business to a corporation that gives very little attention to the actual matter... animals. read more

I took my dog in to be groomed, but I received a call that she was showing signs of a possible seizure or stroke. The groomers and staff were professional and caring. This incident was NOT their fault, but they were adamant we head to the vet. The manager, Michael, followed me to the vet and waited in the lobby for almost three hours while they ran several tests and worked until she was stabilized; PetSmart then paid the entire vet bill. THIS is how you take care of your customers. I am extremely impressed and appreciate them going above and beyond. read more

Dustin helped me find a new food for my dog. He was polite, insightful and helpful. He had great information and knowledge of the brands, ingredients and prices. Amber checked us out and was very friendly. As soon as we walked in the store she greeted us and even though she was wearing a mask, I felt her smile through her eyes. When we checked out she gave my dog some love and treats. She was also very friendly and personable to me and the other customers. The store was well staffed and well stocked. I come here for years but I was told that they can't continue to groom my dogs because they won't stay on the table. it really makes me sad to write this but I think they pick and choose their customers and pets by race. We came in and booked an appointment for our new dog to take advantage of the doggie day camp trial we saw online after adopting him from a animal shelter in Temecula, ca. Shots were updated including the ones needed per Petsmart and Rabies. We arrived and were greeted by Jessica the doggie day camp admin, she verified the shots and told us about how everything works, then mentioned that since his DISTEMPER shots were not administered by a Vet or were administered by the shelter free clinic it was not acceptable, I went to 3 Vets that day to see if they can re-admin them and they advised that this shot was not some shot you can just retake, NO VET in the area wanted to do it! I don't think its fair to my family and the dog as its new owner that they cannot accept him especially given that they can call and verify with the shelter as well as the shots dosage and stickers were on his vaccination record paperwork with certification etc. This really left a bad taste in my mouth, I left and was sad because they not only turned me down based on one employees decision but also that my dog is a shih-tzu poodle mix not some huge dog, even if it was the shots are there and his temperament with my 5 year old daughter and 10 year old son you can tell is nothing near dangerous, I really felt violated. I also called the county of Ventura and they stated that it didn't make sense especially because we adopted him at age 2 which meant that the shelter or the owner prior would have to have done this and we had no control over that, they suggested that this was on the employee and to try another branch, we did and we were accepted, I won't say which place but I mean this is unacceptable. Noone is winning or gaining anything out of it just our poor dog who probably would've had fun and signed up for more days as well as boarding for vacation days for us. read more

Yesterday was the second time bringing my dog here for grooming. The first time my wife brought her in and waited for her to get done when I took her I dropped her off and came back. I told them when I got there I wanted to do the same package my wife had gotten before but we didn't need the gland cleansing. I thought she was just getting a nail clipping and teeth brushing for $28 which I thought was pretty expensive but it's what the wife wanted. When I picked her up the first thing I noticed was that she smelled like a "dog" with perfume. After getting her home my daughter notices that her breath was just as bad as it was when we left and this was the main reason for going. So I called today and asked what did the dog have done and I was told she had full bath, blow drying, teeth done and nails. The first time she got her teeth done it smelled great, lasted a good week before a noticeable change. She said if the dog doesn't let them do their teeth then they don't do it. They will just try to get some tooth paste into the dogs mouth. So I paid for a service that I didn't get and I wasn't even told that she didn't let them if that was even the case. I was told to tell them to try harder next time. I'm buying a nail grinder and toothbrush from Amazon for the same price as this one visit because I'm obviously just as qualified to groom my dog as these folks are. read more

Bought 3 catfish on black Friday and on Sunday noticed white spots all over them, now all the fish in my 60 gallon tank have white spots.

Stay away from the grooming department here. They are unqualified to work on your pets. The last three times I have taken my dogs here I have had problems. Two times they got water in my dogs ear and one time they expressed the glands and punctured his skin. $400 vet bill for three visits and meds. Not to mention the pain he went through! The store itself is great, but grooming department should be avoided. read more

I'd have to say, Petsmart's Grooming is pretty bad. The people working there pretty much have no idea what they are doing, or just don't care. I've brought in my dog to get groomed several times, and all have resulted horrible. This recent time especially. We told the groomers these exact words: "Please don't shave too much, keep the ears, tail, and face long." And guess what? They shaved the whole dog. He looks like a rat, his tail has no hair, along with the rest of his body. It didn't look like my dog, or even a dog at all. He's a maltese, and it will probably take a three or four years to grow his tail and ears back. Before going in, buyer beware, don't let them ruin your dog too. If I could, I would rate this -2 stars. read more

I had been taking my dog to Simi Valley's grooming salon for a few years. I'm not sure why, but every time I bring her there, she gets scared. Today I brought her in for her appointment and they were really busy. Mind you, I had made this appointment a couple weeks ago. Kirsten was our groomer and she refused to take my dog. She said they couldn't deal with her anxiety when they are busy like today and I was welcome to rebook another time. You work with animals and you can't deal with one who is scared? I had never been treated this way before and I was appalled that Kirsten wanted nothing to do with my dog because they were busy. I won't be bringing back ANY of my business to Petsmart now as Kirsten made it perfectly clear we weren't welcome here. read more

I took my dog in for grooming and yes let them know he had a little matting behind his ear. My friend picked him up for me and we did not realize until we were home that he had a huge quarter sized wound on the back of his ear! When I called they said it was "normal" to have that when a mat is removed.... That is definitely not true! When we took him to the vet they had to cut around the wound and now he is on nit biotic and a steroid spray. Poor guy. I will definitely not be going back. Not only did they not mention anything to us about it when he was picked up, it was not written on his "report card" and they tried to say it was normal!! read more

I brought my dog here to get groomed for the first time. I was always against bringing my dog to places like petsmart/petco. I always took him to private groomers, but I was never completely satisfied. I have seriously tried just about every groomer in mp/simi! Let me tell you that Petsmart did a great job! I think they did a better job than other places, and it was way cheaper! Only $37! I took in my papillon/ king Charles cavalier spaniel mix. His hair grows like a cav, so I get him shaved every 2-3 months. The lady that groomed him was named Tricia. She really listened to me when I told her how I wanted him groomed. Shave completely but leave his papillon ears and trim tail :) At the end, she gave me a "pawgress" report card. It said that his ears and teeth needed cleaning and that she cleaned them. That was so nice because those things cost extra! When I picked him up, I asked if she could shave more around the armpits because there were some long hairs. She was totally happy to do it. I don't care what other people think that I bring my dog here. I would totally recommend coming here! It really saves me those extra $$. Hey, I'm a poor student here, and I can't be spending $50 when I could spend $37 and get better results :) read more

I went here trying to find rawhides or similar chew toys for my dogs. Over 90% of their inventory is made in China. My veterinarian has warned me to stay away from items made in China but I couldn't find one single chew toy made in the USA. They have uneducated employees that give out medical advice. They also have reps from food companies that follow you around trying to convince you to buy their food. One of the reps actually told me to feed my dogs bones when I complained that all their chew toys are made in China. This place is scary and pets will end up being harmed if they listen to the employees and reps' advice. read more

Took my Yorkie puppy in 4 weeks ago for a trim. I came back to a rat. They cut all his hair off which is the signature of a Yorkie even after I specifically showed them a picture of what I wanted and he had come in looking like the picture just a little over grown. They apologized and asked I bring him back in 4 weeks so they will could fix it. So we made an appointment. I come back in 4 weeks and I walk in to drop him off and two girls tell me "his appointment is in the books but the girl it's with isn't here anymore and we don't have time to take him. Someone should've called you." Um, what? I had an appointment. Do you know what an appointment means? Anyway, they are awful. Save yourself the headache! read more

Grooming is overpriced for the incompetence I experienced. Initially I was charged $75 for a full package on my little maltese, which was a whole $4 off since they were unable to do his nails. They also said the glands were 'fine for now.' Two things that haven't happened in 11 years. I replied to a survey and was contacted to set up follow up appointment to address my concerns. I went back, and they still couldn't do his nails. They also charged me another $10 to actually do the glands this time. So after 2 trips, 2 tips, and $85, yet I still ended up having to take him to somewhere else. Furr squeezed me in to quickly do his nails for free after I explained what happened, very nice of them. read more

This particular store in Simi Valley always is out of items I go there to buy. Things like Pedigree Dog food in the pouches should always be available. They've been out of stock the last few times I've been there and aren't purchasing enough stock for the amount of sales. I also buy the Natural Balance dog cookies for my dog and they were out of that too. Looks like they are pretty low on a lot of stock in that store and what's worse is the employees there have that "oh well" attitude. I drive further to go to that store but now I will be saving gas and now going to pet store closer to where I live in Simi. Sorry PetSmart you've lost a good loyal customer who had been shopping at your stores for many years. read more

I'm fed up with their ordering system Empty shelves say just that - empty When you ask they say none in back but system says there are three in store - where nobody knows. It can stay that way forever because they don't reorder till it says zero. If you don't push it you can wait forever because the info is wrong but nobody does anything about it and it comes to a standstill - talk about stupid. Why not reorder if it says 25 left in store and knock off the runaround the present system offers the customer Wake up Petsmart - and treat your customers with more respect. read more

We've been taking our husky here for grooming for over a year. We were always very satisfied with how well she was groomed. A few months ago we took her in and she got cut by the furminator brush on her leg (which honestly still doesn't make sense, but that is what the groomer said), her chest/belly was still moist, and they didn't shave her pads like we had asked. We were extremely concerned so we called the manager and let her know what happened. She gave us a free grooming, and again we were pleased with the outcome. Went there for the first time today. It would've also been my last time, if it wasn't because I have to go back and return my purchase. Was looking for a more comfortable E collar for my new dog who just got neutered, and asked, Steven, one of the guys on the floor, who was friendly and helpful, but didn't seem to know a lot about anything, really... Found something on my own and went to the register to check out, where Akiri, the guy standing there, seemed to be more interested in anything but me, which is not my kind of customer service. He didn't know anything about the product I bought, and when I asked how I could join the PetPerks club, he completely ignored it and gave me no answer... After I go back to return my item, I can promise you that I will never go back there again. read more

Waste of money. I took my Havanese to get a grooming. When I picked him up his hair was uneven in some spots but that wasn't my biggest problem.... His nails were so sharp he drew blood just by carrying him out to the car. When I brought him back in explaining how I get his nails cut by different people and they have never been this sharp they told me he will file them down himself when we take him for walks. Excuse me I didn't just pay you so I can file my dogs nails down myself. I made them recut his nails. When I got home and looked at his nails a couple of his nails were split in half to 1/2 way down the nail. Now I have to take my dog to the vet to see what to do about his nails because if I leave them like this he will rip his nails off. Customer service: F- : they were so rude and they were acting like a smart ass when I just wanted my dogs nails fixed, I didn't even bring up his hair. The way my dog looks: C : they could of made his hair a bit more even... Its pretty noticeable a unexperienced person cut my dogs hair. $45 down the drain read more

Second time buying sick fish at this place. The first time, I was lucky and caught it while the fish were still in the bag, and was able to take them back. Several months later I gave them a try again, and I guess I didn't learn my lesson. Ick again, and I had to treat my 60 gallon. I also lost some fish in the process. Don't know why they continue to sell sick fish... it's not that difficult to keep healthy fish. What a bunch of morons. Make a trip to the Valley if you need fish. read more

We shopped for geckos on the evening of April 21 and had such a great experience! All three of the associates that we encountered were helpful and positive. They truly seemed to care about their jobs. The store itself had a happy and friendly vibe. Naleigh is an amazing reptile expert. She spent lots of time educating us and got us all set up with our two geckos and everything we need. The geckos are doing great and are very healthy. Kudos to PetSmart! read more

I couldn't be happier with all facets of the experience my dogs had with Ashlynn the groomer at pet smart today. She was ready for our two dogs, made them feel comfortable with her and the environment and was very professional with us too. She pointed me in the right direction for everything, talked to me about the pros and cons about different items and was such a help. she answered every question I had. I called back later that day to ask her a question about my gecko, and she sounded genuinely excited to hear that the gecko was eating and adjusting well. Very disappointed in the customer service. I arrived 5 minutes before closing, an emergency situation where I had to replace my child's pet. I explained this to the lady and she rolled her eyes and sighed then got the bird. this is my usual PetSmart but I have never been at this location on the weekend. It was also Pet Adoption Day. The places was packed ! But as long as the line was, it moved relatively quickly. I went to Petsmart for many years I requested a specifific groomer who injured my dog by cutting her eye during grooming. i took her to my vet immediately who dianosed her with a punctured eye from grooming. I conntacted management for assisstenance in paying $400 vet bill and no answer. not even a discussuion. I will neverbuy $1 or product or service from them ever again and encouraging the same of my friends and family with pets. never take your beloved pets to this store again. they show no maturity or responsibility for what they do. scary... read more
