I have 2 affenpinschers, one of them is easy, he loves everyone and doesn't mind being brushed and groomed. The other one is a different story, he is diabetic and blind and doesn't even let me brush him without growling and wanting to attack the hairbrush. So finding a place that would be able to work with him and give him a successful grooming was my challenge . The girls at the groomers were great with him! The attention and care they gave my pups was amazing. He was comfortable and well taken care of and his haircut came out great . She had told me about Designer Dogs and that she's taken her two lap dogs there for years and told me they are very good. So I figured I would give them a try. I have to say the owner and staff is beyond nice. Personable, pleasant and you can tell they love their work. Which by the way in this line of work you have to love animals. Plus I can tell my dog gets treated very well here. Every time we walk in the door, her tail is wagging; she gets up on her hind paws to peek over the counter. The fact that she gets this excited tells me she loves coming here. Plus you can't beat the prices. I have a Siberian Husky and for a grooming session it only costs me about $25.00. Every time I pick her up she smells so nice, her coat looks shiny and clean and her paws are filed down at just the right length. They have multiple rooms so they split up the dogs based on the size of them. If you do happen to give this place a try, keep in mind they only accept cash or check, no credit/debit cards. Dogs getting ears bit open and brought to cabin to "relax". Dogs are groomed completely incorrectly. No brushing prior to baths. Not being allowed to clear ears without it being payed for. Dogs left unattended in drying cabins for long periods of time. One yard has no functioning hose so poop is very hard to clean. I could continue and post an entire list of dogs who should be kicked out and disgusting things staff has been seen doing like lifting dogs by the scruff and dragging them around by collars cuz they don't use slip leads. It's truly just mortifying. Staff is also made to sign documents making sure they cannot speak or post ab what goes on there. Please protect ur animals.

Our long hair cat was having an issue with litter getting stuck in her hair. I brought her to Calypso and she was first given a deshedding cut but that did not help with the issue. Terri then gave her a lions cut and problem solved. The cut actually is really cute on her and now she's not walking around with litter ( and other things) stuck in her fur. We will be returning for future grooming services at Calypso and will be bringing our other rescue for her first visit soon. Thank you for taking such great care of Molly.
