The groomer there, Sarah, did a wonderful job with my dog, all of the staff was welcoming and helpful. The store was clean and well stocked. However, my dog has now been there for over six hours. You cannot get a hold of anyone. If you phone, they put you on hold for an excessive amount of time and then disconnect you. Having made an early morning appointment for my dog I did not anticipate spending the entire day waiting for them to get back to me. Very disrespectful of my time. I previously came to this store to purchase a fancy Australian Parakeet, fell in love with her, it was the best decision I've made this year regarding on having a brand new pet. Jose is the name of the clerk that took care of me and my purchased pet. It's been 3 months, so I came back for another fancy Australian Parakeet and this time, also Jose was there. I asked him if he knew if any of the parakeets were male or female, this guy, this dude Jose turned around and told me with a straight face that "We do not discuss the sex of the birds in here, and that's not an excuse to return it." What the hell? I wasn't looking for excuse and all I did was ask a question. Dude virtue signaled the alphabet cult and one thing is for sure, I don't write reviews often, but this was meant to be, and last but not least, I will encourage everyone I know not to buy anything from this place, as it is overwhelmed with low IQ progressive aliens. This location is fairly new! I think it opened in early 2024 or maybe late 2023. It's clean. You don't walk in and smell "pet store". Usually greeted by the cashier. The selection of items is okay. The shelves are not half empty like their major competitor in town. I've been able to find what I need. The website seems fairly accurate about the inventory. They have small birds, cats from a rescue, fish, small rodent, Guinea pigs, and reptiles. The store itself feels a little smaller than other nearby locations, but that could be the almost L shaped layout of the building. Sometimes the items in store are listed as a couple bucks higher than the website. I'm sure they can price adjust for you. There only seem to be 2-3 people working at a time. One of which was a cashier and the other in the fish department. So if you need something that's behind a locked glass it may take a little while to flag someone down for help. I'd say this will probably be my go to for most pet supplies that isn't carried at Target. It's in a convenient location, clean, and well stocked. read more

Mari Mari Mari! This one is for you! She is amazing and I can't thank her enough. She washes and grooms my girl for me. She always does amazing and is very thorough. She also makes for easy conversation and just all around great customer service. To get an appt go in or call. They only have groomers and no washers yet so wash appts don't show on the app. I get the frustration but not fair to give them 1 star. When I first got her we also tried petco. They didn't clean her ears or cut her nails let alone trim anything. The top her head still smelled too. Since then we tried PetSmart and it's been a world of difference. This location is clean. Everybody is friendly. EVERY SINGLE BODY! Idk who's hiring but you're doing great! They're patient with me and my questions being a new-er dog mom. They usually price match the other places too for Royal Canin. The points add up fast and just all around love shopping there. Hope they're here to stay for a long time in Vallejo! read more

Very pleased with the customer service and the place was well kept, very organized. I don't think a lot of people know this place is open. It wasn't very busy during my visit at about 2 pm. The grooming team here today was incredible. All three ladies were professional, caring and thorough. I was lucky enough to slide into a cancellation after Petco dropped the ball on me. I took my toy poodle to be groomed Sunday 10/26 with Shane. He hasn't been the same since. He's usually super energetic and playful but since returning he's been sad, whining and constantly licking his anal area. He's red in his genital and anal area. I called Tuesday 10/28 and Jose explained it could be from him not having an anal excretion in a while, he also said they'd have to investigate with Shane because he didn't come in that day. I went in Tuesday 10/28 evening & they provided me with hydrocortisone, wound spray, & a cone -very appreciative. I also noticed Shane was there grooming another dog. I assumed they made him aware of the situation and he didn't have the decency to come out and chat about what could've happened during my dog's service. Out of concern I took him to the vet and it appears Shane snipped him on his anal. OUCH! I'm disappointed because this was our first time at petsmart & I'm sure he KNEW he snipped my boy. I called today to inform them and the lady I spoke with said she wasn't familiar with the grooming department, took my number down and assured me someone would call back today. No one has called back. I will be filing a complaint with corporate regarding this. I'm leaving two stars because the lady who initially took my dog in for his appt was very kind! Not to mention I asked for my poodle to have a teddy bear haircut just like the BIG picture of the poodle they have on display in the grooming area. My dog came out looking like a balloon. Shane insisted he didn't want to cut him too low because it's almost winter, but I thought I was paying you for a service. read more

Dog Grooming is their best service especially Sarah, she treats my dog Paz like family

Hours are not accurate on, Google says open til 9 and yelp says open til 8. They actually close at 5pm.

Please please please do not take your dog to this establishment to be groomed. When I took my dog there to get groomed today, I was being charged an extra $10 fee in case my dog was unruly or might bite. I explained to them that he doesn't like his feet touched and that they might have to use a muzzle on him. The girl at the front desk told me if he was fine they wouldn't charge me the extra fee. He was only there for one hour and they called and told me he was ready even though when I dropped him off I was told it would be 2 to 3 hours. When I got there I asked the groomer how did he do. She stated he was fine so I said then you will remove the extra fee. In the meantime a male groomer came out and stated that the extra fee was for the muzzle. This was never told to me when I booked the appointment. I told them my other groomer never has a problem with my dog and their comment was "then why didn't you take him there?" Not professional what so ever!!! I find them both very rude. read more

They called 24 hours before my dogs appointment for grooming to confirm we were still coming, which I did. The following morning they call and say the groomer called out and won't be able to service me until Wednesday. Just see this as unprofessional and feel they should always have back up groomers just incase of this type of situation . Will just look at other locations from here on out. read more

I have been going to this location since the day they opened. In the last six months, their customer service has gone WAY downhill. Today, the cashier did not even acknowledge me standing in line for almost ten minutes, even though the customer that was being helped in front of me told her my husband and I were waiting for assistance. (That customer was having topical flea treatment for dogs explained to them by someone who I think might be part of management.) The flea treatment explanation was incorrect as well, but that's another story. The cashier told that customer, "Oh, they're fine" when they pointed how we were still waiting to be rung up. I'm not certain how she knew that, since she not once spoke to us or even looked at us. She thanked those customers for their patience, and those customers reminded her once more that WE were the ones that had been waiting; however, again, she never even acknowledged us. When we finally reached the register, she barely spoke to us. I do think I came off as irritated, and she called the manager back to the front before I even asked. When I was trying to explain why I was irritated, she kept interrupting me. The staff here fail to realize that the reason this store exists is because customers walk through the door. Without physical customers, there are no jobs. There are also other places that customers can get pet items, including a Petco up the street, a Target across the parking lot, a Safeway down the street, and another PetSmart 15 minutes away. In a time when people have options, including online ordering, good (I'm not even expecting excellent at this point) customer service should be at the forefront of the minds of staff. Instead, giving out completely incorrect (and possibly risky) information about flea treatment, and treating customers like they are a distraction and not the reason you are employed, will make people like me explore those other options. Given how this location is faring in the customer service area, closure may be in it future. read more
