Came here tonight and was assisted by PAUL. My son wanted a hamster, so we came here tonight and was lost, we grabbed a few things and went to check out with Paul and he HANDLED BUSINESS. He showed us what we exactly needed, referred us to a different PAIR of hamsters. He told us how they should be with another and how to handle them and gave us an amazing experience. THANK YOU MUCH PAUL.

This review is for the doggie day camp and training only. We take our puppy to doggie day camp every so often, I am usually able to call the day before or the morning of to schedule an appointment. The employees at day camp are always very welcoming and friendly to my pup and always comment on her growth lol Last but not least is a big shoutout to Rebecca, she is one of the most patient dog trainers we have interacted with. Our puppy loves her and is always excited to see Rebecca in passing. When we did have an issue with grooming, management contacted us and made it right. This store has made us feel welcome and we enjoy interacting with the staff and continuing with the services they offer.

Skin was so irritated and red pilling off himself flaky biting his legs . Bad reaction.

The first time I took my dog to the groomer it was ok . Then when I brought him at the end of June, I had upgraded it because they had a recommendation. I even paid more, and my Dog got the worst reaction dried up his skin, biting himself. He was so irritated, which I didn't understand when they shouldn't know what to do. I was super upset. I couldn't even called back. So then I decided it to go to a different location which was in Cerritos and the girl says she would've never recommended that, and that they should've gave me my money back, which they didn't, and when I took him to the Cerritos location. They were a lot nicer. He still had a small reaction, but not as bad as he did in June. I definitely would not recommend the Whittier location.

I would give a zero if I could. Took my small dog a couple of times for a couple hours for doggy daycare just so he can try to get used it since we were going to leave him there for 5 days for our vacation. I picked him up 3ish hours later after dropping him off and he couldn't jump on his back legs. I didn't notice it until I came home and was giving him a bath and I saw the bruises. I called them and they said they would look at videos and that I could take him to their vet at no cost. So the next day they called me and said they didn't see anything in the video and would not let us see the video. I was so disappointed and felt horrible because I left him there and thought I could trust the staff to care for my dog. I felt like they basically implied it happened at home but that's impossible . My dog is an indoor dog and never goes outside without supervision. They obviously do not have good cameras, maybe someone kicked him or he was injured by another dog. I will never go back.

One of the worst daycares to take your dog to. I had two separate incidents at this location and their employees and manager do nothing to help you. I only brought my dog for day care and the first time they forgot to take my dog out for play time (which they admitted) and all they did was not charge me for the play time and offered a free play time for my next visit. The 2nd time I dropped my dog off she was fine but when I picked her up immediately I noticed 2 bumps between her eyes while still checking out which none of the employees or managers knew how it got there. I demanded to see the footage of my dogs stay and they kept sending me to different managers (Jess and Joel) which still didn't have an answer for me as to why I can't see it nor were they able to give me a reason why my dog had two bumps. I don't recommend this place. They don't take care of your pets here and just forget about them so please be careful leaving your animals here. My dog will no longer be returning to this POS!

The store is always clean neat and organized but above all I take my pets to the veterinarian there inside petsmart vet check see Doctor grant. AMAZING TEAM

    Kona's grooming report 4/2024

Pet smart Whittier training classes and groomers are the best!! Kona our medium size golden doodle likes coming to this store. Kona loves the training classes with Rebecca. He quickly became more comfortable being around other dogs after her classes. Kona also enjoys going to the Whittier Pet smart groomers. Kona comes here monthly. All Whittier Pet smart groomers are friendly and treat all dogs with caring compassion. This is evidenced by Kona wagging his tail the minute we open the groomer room door. He is not scared to enter the grooming area and they do a great job every time! Recently, they are giving dog parents an added picture to the grooming report, which is a nice touch for all dog parents. Come to Pet Smart Whittier for all your dog needs. You and your dog will be happy.

My puppy completed his puppy training!

One rule was we were going to train her to be his service dog to help with mobility issues and we had to decide who to use to train her. We started off with the typical Petsmart training classes which were also great for what it was but knew we needed more. We called multiple trainers, had multiple consultations and no one we meshed with until we found Reymond. We started off with one class and even in the first class he gave us such amazing advice on training Hunny, techniques and was just a kind soul. We signed her up for private training lessons and he has helped Hunny to overcome some fears and training in real life vs a pet store. We were able to take her with us on a short Vegas trip where she was perfect. You tell me what young dog is able to lay down and settle at a Japanese Bbq place where all we are doing is grilling delicious meat and eating tons of food. So if you are wondering if you should hire Reymond and his company I am going to say yes, you won't regret it. A bonus is he also has group training classes that are very economical. With Reymond's help I know that Hunny will become an amazing service dog for my husband. Also, if ur lucky u get to pet his dog Pluto and give him some string cheese :)

THANK you for sharing your words of wisdom and trust in Oreo he had a great time at training today ‍read more

I came to find out it was the wife and she took the time to answer all my questions and concerns. I requested to book a tour and asked if my dogs could come. The tour: The tour went great! They took the time to make sure not to approach my dogs too hastily and towards the end, my husband and I felt comfortable leaving our dogs with them! We ended up booking and saw they had an amazing deal if we paid for a yearly membership, which helped give a discount to book the play room to have our 2 dogs stay in, along with a free walk for both of them (they typically potty outside and know not to potty inside). We booked the boarding for about 4 days and found out they partnered with a groomer! My dogs got the grooming and they LOVED It there. They really got comfortable playing with the other dogs and loved the owners. 10 out of 5 stars if I could!!! Our dogs were happy, smelled fantastic (thanks groomers!), and weren't even that excited to see us when we came to pick them up (which I was a bit sad, but extremely happy because that meant they really enjoyed their stay!). I thought that was a huge plus. All new dogs are required to provide vaccination records, and they also do about a 20-minute temperament assessment before joining. Based on each dog's personality, they arrange suitable playgroups instead of just mixing all the dogs together. The staff are also very professional and attentive. There's plenty of room for the dogs to run around and play comfortably. What made me feel the most reassured is that they don't just "keep" the dogs there -- they actually spend time playing with them, observing their behavior, and caring about their emotions. If your dog wants to socialize and play with other dogs, they do require proof of vaccinations including Rabies, Bordetella, and DHPP. They also do a simple temperament test (around 20 minutes), which honestly made me feel they're super responsible and genuinely care about the safety and well-being of every dog. I had previously tried Board and Train programs at Sit Means Sit twice, but they didn't help with KB's anxiety at all. Tony was a completely different experience. What sets Tony apart is how thorough he is. He didn't just give commands; he constantly explained the "why" behind KB's behaviors. He was also incredibly supportive of me, helping me work through my own fears and nervousness. Because of his guidance, I can now actually play box with KB without the fear that he'll suddenly react toward me. We covered so much ground, including: * Command & Muzzle Work: Building a foundation of safety and communication. * Boundaries: KB used to be glued to my side whenever I answered the door. Now, he can stay calmly on the couch while I greet someone, and he stays indoors even when I go through the patio door. * Safety & Care: Tony was always so accommodating with scheduling. If it was too hot for an outdoor session, he would proactively suggest changing it for KB's safety. If you feel stuck or overwhelmed with your dog's behavior, go to Tony. He turned everything around for us, and I'm so grateful for the confidence he's given both me and KB.

He was listening, he was following commands and seemed to be comprehending very well. It was because of the prong collar that was dugged into his neck whenever a command is given. Fast forward the two weeks...I was so excited to get him back and got instructions on how he was trained and to continue the training on my own. Now I don't have complaints on how they train, each person has their own technique however when I got my dog back with me alone, he was super anxious and scared. He wouldn't let me leave his side. Every time I got up he would get up too. Everywhere I went in the house he would follow. I get it because we've been apart for two weeks and he was afraid that I would leave him again. He really did not like the prong collar. He yelped one time when I took it off. It's not an easy collar to take off. I gave the prong collar a try for a few days and he listened but he was not the same happy dog that I was used to. He was withdrawn and did not let people approach him or touch him. He did not bark at all which was not him. He was also super skinny when I got him back, you can see his bones sticking out. They said he ate all the food I brought. I brought kibble, some home made food, treats and a new bag of fresh pet. I was told that he had completely finished all of his food. My dog doesn't eat a whole lot, so I was surprised that he had nothing left. I did not want anything back, I just know my dog doesn't eat that much and is very dry picky.l and hoped he was fed well. That part I'm not too sure on. When I got him back I did manage to weigh him and he was 4.6 lbs, he usually weighs about 5 1/2 lbs. He is now eating right and gaining his weight back but I still feel his bones. After a couple of days of using the prong collar I stopped putting it on him. He would lay where he was, very sad and distant. He didn't even want to play with my other dog, he just wanted to sit right by me when he had his collar. After leaving the collar off for several days now he has become a super happy and very playful puppy. He still obeys commands with treats of course. I don't think anything was wrong with the training my dog received. I think this place is for a dog who is a bit more mischievous and does not entirely listen. I also think it's more suitable for dogs of a larger size or breed or weight like my pit bull but she listens and is very mellow. I do appreciate the help that Hudson's Canine Kennels gave, unfortunately this did not work out for me or my dog.
