Prince loves to play with the staff!

You can tell when a place and staff love what they do. Bijan and team (shout out to Jason, Rose, and Sergio!) keep the dogs happy. Very reasonable rates and they are super flexible even with last minute bookings. Wouldn't take the doggies anywhere else!

I cannot say enough good things about this place. After a last-minute emergency situation picking my puppy up from another pet hotel, he was given back to me smelling horrendously like pee--and we were driving back to Arizona the same day, so we needed help ASAP. I called Barking Lodge Pet Resort to ask about pricing for a quick emergency wash, and Wil got my puppy in within minutes of making the call. All they needed were his immunizations, which I had and was able to forward right away. When I arrived, they took us in immediately. Everyone was incredibly friendly, professional, and reassuring, and they walked me through the entire process. We waited outside while they bathed and dried him, and the whole thing was done in about 20 minutes. My puppy came out smelling so clean and fresh, and most importantly, he was genuinely happy--which says everything. Wil was amazing to work with, and I am so grateful I found this place when I needed it most.

I've been going to the Barking Lodge now for a few months. This is a family owned business, and the whole family truly loves animals and takes care of my babies as if they were their own. Maryam is one of the nicest people I have ever met, and Niloo has a bunch of connections in the resue world, so if you are looking for a specific try of dog. Please contact her, and she can help you find your perfect purr baby! The Barking Lodge sends me pictures and videos throughout the day every time they are there. Such a beautiful, thoughtful gesture. I can not say enough good things about The Barking Lodge and encourage you to try them if you need to board or just need the pets to get out to play and socialize with others.

We love this place! We do daycare M-F! Our pup is a reactive dog and has so much energy! It's nice knowing that she socialize with other dogs and not always at home by herself. We get pictures and videos getting little updates on how she's doing. They also started sending cute little report cards! Which is so fun and I love it!! Staff here are great! We love them and our pup does too!

Do you guys offer boarding for cats now?

Hi Duyen! Unfortunately we still are not capable of having cats. We are still looking to do it in the future.

Do the dogs run outside and play with each other for dog day care?

Hello Kristin, The dogs run around in the indoor play yards all day for both boarding and day care :)

I have a small dog. How much it is for the hotel?

The facility itself is very well equipped, with more than 100 rooms. They also have separate isolation rooms in case a dog gets sick, which helps prevent illnesses from spreading to other dogs. I thought that was a huge plus. All new dogs are required to provide vaccination records, and they also do about a 20-minute temperament assessment before joining. Based on each dog's personality, they arrange suitable playgroups instead of just mixing all the dogs together. The staff are also very professional and attentive. They keep daily records of each dog's eating habits and bathroom activity, which really gives owners extra peace of mind. Overall, it feels like a very responsible and well-organized place for dogs.

It is easy to book your stays through the app and everything has ran smoothly for my experience so far. They require all records prior to your first stay to make sure the dogs are up to date on vaccinations, etc. There are also a number of enrichments offered at an extra cost to entertain your pup, and on certain days of the week they have specialty enrichments. On my pup's last stay we ordered a pup cup and I did not expect to receive pictures in email of her enjoying it. That made my day. There are always cameras available to check in on your doggy to make you feel at ease. My pup is always excited and always playing during her stays and she is excited to go in when we arrive, she isn't even worried about me heading off and she's still happy when we come back for her. Then there is the additional perk of your pup being wiped out for a nice portion of the day when you return. He was listening, he was following commands and seemed to be comprehending very well. It was because of the prong collar that was dugged into his neck whenever a command is given. Fast forward the two weeks...I was so excited to get him back and got instructions on how he was trained and to continue the training on my own. Now I don't have complaints on how they train, each person has their own technique however when I got my dog back with me alone, he was super anxious and scared. He wouldn't let me leave his side. Every time I got up he would get up too. Everywhere I went in the house he would follow. I get it because we've been apart for two weeks and he was afraid that I would leave him again. He really did not like the prong collar. He yelped one time when I took it off. It's not an easy collar to take off. I gave the prong collar a try for a few days and he listened but he was not the same happy dog that I was used to. He was withdrawn and did not let people approach him or touch him. He did not bark at all which was not him. He was also super skinny when I got him back, you can see his bones sticking out. They said he ate all the food I brought. I brought kibble, some home made food, treats and a new bag of fresh pet. I was told that he had completely finished all of his food. My dog doesn't eat a whole lot, so I was surprised that he had nothing left. I did not want anything back, I just know my dog doesn't eat that much and is very dry picky.l and hoped he was fed well. That part I'm not too sure on. When I got him back I did manage to weigh him and he was 4.6 lbs, he usually weighs about 5 1/2 lbs. He is now eating right and gaining his weight back but I still feel his bones. After a couple of days of using the prong collar I stopped putting it on him. He would lay where he was, very sad and distant. He didn't even want to play with my other dog, he just wanted to sit right by me when he had his collar. After leaving the collar off for several days now he has become a super happy and very playful puppy. He still obeys commands with treats of course. I don't think anything was wrong with the training my dog received. I think this place is for a dog who is a bit more mischievous and does not entirely listen. I also think it's more suitable for dogs of a larger size or breed or weight like my pit bull but she listens and is very mellow. I do appreciate the help that Hudson's Canine Kennels gave, unfortunately this did not work out for me or my dog.
