Had a really nice dinner with 3 friends on a random weekday. The atmosphere is upscale and modern, plenty of open seating or quiet booths, the bar was a very welcoming place for two for a meal or appetizer. Our waiter was really good. He knew the menu inside and out, had drink recommendations and was always around when we needed him. The food was excellent, with a decent size menu with plenty of options including vegetarian. I really enjoyed the Wild Game Meatloaf, and the appetizers were all great as well. I'd definitely eat here again with friends or a date. read more

My husband took me here for a birthday dinner. Eva our waitress was amazing and hilarious. The ambiance is great, food was incredible. The pork chop is the best pork chop I have ever had in my life. The service was good The margarita was great oddly enough with all three of them. They were good but inconsistent they all looked and tasted different yet good. The oysters were fantastic, but they looked more like clams. They should at least say petite oysters. The Caesar salad and the French onion soup were fantastic. Lamb chops were great, pasta was great , the chicken Milanese was dry like very dry. Baked Alaska. Go ahead and skip it, the brownie was dry. I'm sure they'll get better. I would definitely give them another try but I would probably send the chicken back. Honestly, I probably would won't order it again. Three of us had two or three drinks each. The bill was over $400. Oyster Rockefeller were good but served on a bed of salt (hard to eat direct from shell with all the salt stuck to shell). Unfortunately, the crab cakes were terrible. I have now been here three different occasions and I will say that the service and the food are always very consistent. Hands-down, they have the best French onion soup I have ever had. I think I would just go back for that. The cocktails are always very strong and sneaky because they taste delicious so you would never expect it to have a surprise strength. The calamari also had a corn meal breading, which is very unique and I was curious and pleasantly surprised to see how delicious it was not to mention the amazing marinara it sat on. Lastly, the rigatoni is fantastic. I could not stop thinking about how not a thing misses here from food to service. I can't wait to sample the whole menu overtime. read more

The food here is very good. I have been several times and always left impressed with what I ordered. For the most part, I find the menu limited, but they do the things they do well, so that is OK. The reason I am only giving them 3 stars is that the way they handle the public leaves much to be desired. On several occasions we have tried to go in just to have a drink at their lovely bar. We've never been able to get a seat because it is always crowded. Fair enough. Folks like the place and want to sit at the bar. Tonight seemed to be our lucky night. There were 4 seats open at the bar at 6:00 on a Friday. We only needed two. We asked if we could sit there and the nice hostess told us that those seats were reserved. Meaning the bar was mostly empty. We eat out a lot, all over the country, and have never seen a situation where seats at the bar are reserved. We were fascinated and asked how we could go about reserving seats at the bar for the next time we wanted to come in (we love to eat at the bar). She looked a bit frazzled and told us that the only way to do that was to call the bartender directly. She said we would need the bartenders cell phone to do this. Sorry, but this is outrageous to me. You need the bartenders personal cell phone to get a seat at the bar? It's like a secret society. No wonder we can never get in. We didn't know the secret. As good as the food is, we won't be going back to try to get a seat at the bar or in the restaurant. read more

Been here twice for special occasions. The steak frites is huge and delicious. The chef made sure to make my steak medium well and it was perfect. My husband gets their ragu which is one of the best things on the menu if you like pasta, this portion is just right. The ambiance can get crowded and really loud on a weekend or Friday night because it's full. Make sure to grab reservations if you're going on Friday or Saturday. The place is very cute with clean bathrooms and the wait staff does a great job of keeping your drinks full. Try the Milk and Cookies, the best chocolate chip cookie ever. I love that you can get 4 chocolate chip or peanut butter or mix/match. It's pricy for the area but coming from the DC Metro I thought it was a steal. We love Pettibone and will be back! read more

A lot of the workers were friendly, besides our waitress. She seemed to care more about her other tables and just kept it short with us and kept us waiting long periods of time. The food was not good. Horrible caesar salad with a very odd dressing. Pasta was not good - the sauce tasted like medicine. Expensive meal and not worth it at all. We love Milford and visit often. Our friends made a reservation at the new Pettibone restaurant. We met the owner when we walked in, had a nice chat. He asked for honest critique of our meal. The decor is modern and beautiful, made me wish I'd worn my finest! We started with a delicious French onion soup with bits of beef shank--amazing! Perfect melty cheese, rich broth. I ordered the Greek-spiced sweet rolls with feta butter. O.M.G. I could make a meal of them with a glass of wine, they were lick-the-plate delicious. For entrées, we had the walleye, smothered with herbs and caponata vegetables--best I've ever had. My husband had rigatoni with sausage and truffles, perfectly al dente and tasty, but the fish--a show stopper. We also had seasonal vegetables--parsnips, asperagus, fennel--nobody serves that medley, it was a much welcome change from the usual. We had no room for dessert. If they had bread pudding on the menu, we might have, but our apps and entrées were too generous. We're in Milford again tonight, and just might go back!! This is a wonderful place! read more

Can't tell you how disappointing this was. The old gravity I never had a bad meal at out of dozens. First time here... for the price... it was a joke. Drinks were phenomenal. App - calamari ... toughest I've had in a long time and hardly any sauce. Entrees- lamb. Tough. Same lamb they probably serve at highland house. The pasta dish was absolutely flavorless. It was shocking. And lastly, the walleye tasted like water. Literally no flavor at all. We've been to a tone of fine dining places. If you want to be considered fine dining and charge people these prices you need to produce good food. I'll go to "the bar" down the road for half the price and get a 10x better meal. read more

We sampled the entire menu and loved it all. Stars of the show: the cowboy for 2, truffle fries, and pork chop were all incredible. If you're thinking about any, just order and enjoy. For apps, the Greek spiced sweet rolls, cheese fingerling potatoes, clams casino, and steak tartar were all phenomenal. The feta butter was so light I'm not sure how they make it.
