Let me start off with -we have never had a bad experience at this location, the staff is awesome and Jenna killed it last night! She was so on top of everything, it made the trip more than worth it! Even our previous server (who was working the bar last night) made it a point to say hi to us, and thanked us for coming in as we were heading out! Food was excellent, their homemade mashed potatoes are the bomb, and their chicken and build a burger was excellent! This is another rare place that can get meat temperatures right. They had a big group that was occupying the staff, but all of them were collectively working together to see that everybody was properly being handled. We haven't seen attentiveness or attention to detail like this since leaving Las Vegas. You can tell the management has put a lot of hands on time and effort in to their staff as well as their food. Decided to give this place a try on Memorial Day weekend and went specifically for happy hour deals and also decided to eat dinner. Happy hour: well drinks $4 (great deal), wine and margarita good deals too. Note that craft beer was not on happy hour (disappointing). Appeared only bottled beers were on happy hour; wish that beer on tap was at least some discount like $1 off would be a nice perk. Craft beer tall was $8.50. Ouch. (Even the local river edge's brewery doesn't charge that much.) Select appetizers were $7. Pretzels were okay. Not very good flavoring and a little tough chewy for our liking. The mustard was more honey mustard texture instead of stone mustard that I prefer with pretzels. The beet cheese was good. They do give a generous amount of beer cheese. Main course/meals: husband got the Alabama smash burger which he said was good and flavorful. Fries were good with a nice coating. I had the steak tacos. I do want to note I have a tomato allergy so needed to make some modifications and also don't like grilled onions. However I was very disappointed with the steak tacos. They were very small size (like appetizer to me) and all it had was the steak and melted cheese. Lettuce and avocado would have gave these some flavor. I asked for a side of beer cheese with the tortilla chips since I could have salsa. I was upcharged $3. Very confusing because bill said it was taken off then it was added back on at the bottom of the bill?! They have a bar area that is separate from the rest of the restaurant. They have a lot of seating with a mix of tables and booths. Bill was $70 for 2 tall beers, 1 well drink, 1 appetizer, burger and tacos. Plus tip was almost $90. Disappointing and not worth the money. SO GOOD!! One of my top 3 restaurants in the neighborhood! Out of all the places that offer Truffle Fries, Black Label has the BEST version, hands down. They are hot and crispy, and the creamy truffle sauce with fresh Rosemary adds an herbaceous twist on the classic Parmesan-topped appetizer. When you stop in for a bite to eat, don't forget to order the Crispy Brussels Sprouts, as they are another delicious pre-meal snack. The salads, wraps, and sandwiches are unique and creative, and always built with delicious seasonal ingredients. My husband loves the Bourbon Chicken, Forest Chicken, and the Taco Trio. They all taste too good to be true for a little tavern in Milford! Service is consistently fast and efficient, and the waitstaff is kind, fun, and friendly. If you don't know what you want to eat or drink, they always have suggestions when you ask! The atmosphere is warm and classic, yet modern and cool at the same time. I stopped by on a Saturday afternoon and it was pretty quiet and we got seated immediately. The menu has a nice overall selection and the service wasn't super quick but they might have been understaffed. Besides it's not fast food so it was fine. The burger is decent - not the best but not bad. A little light on salt but cooked right and nicely presented. The chicken wrap is tasty although a tad on the drier side. This is a solid place in Milford for a quality meal above the other nearby fast food options. They do make their own fried and chips which were very good. read more

Passing through Milford, I recognized the name Black Label Tavern from one in Livonia. With good reviews there, I figured I couldn't go wrong here if they were from the same ilk. We stopped in for lunch hoping to get a couple good sandwiches and a beer. Unfortunately our hopes ended there. The place is really kinda blah. It certainly has the same vibe, decor, and menu, but on a lessor rating. The food was mediocre and rather bland. The beer was not very cold. And the waitstaff was less than interested to be there. Prices were a little high for the quality of food. The LA club and the smoked brisket with fries and a side of asparagus was our lunch. Bland and bland with a side of bland. If I remember correctly, we paid $7 for six pieces of asparagus. I don't bother going into the bathroom to see about cleanliness. The rest of the place was like any other bar. The positive I took from the experience was that the place is definitely in a convenient location. Sorry BLT, I'll hit up a fast food place next time. read more

Service was food. Wait staff was pleasant. Food quality seemed to depend on what was ordered. Steak tacos-tasty but somewhat unattractively presented. Accompanying chips were very hard, and slightly over seasoned. Steak bites were bland, some bits inedible due to gristle. The sauce seemed to be missing an ingredient. Fries were fine. The iced tea was the star of the meal. The patio was super sunny, but the umbrella was inoperable. The music was overly loud. The food was a bit oricy considering the (lack of) quality. First things first -- we sat at the bar on Saturday, 06/28 at about 5:15 PM and were greeted by Ella. We had two glasses of wine (Canyon Road Cabernet and Canyon Road Sauvignon Blanc -- both quite good) and an appetizer of the Volcano Shrimp. Ella was attentive , the wine was very nice and the shrimp appetizer was delicious. That's where our good review ends. We were then seated at a booth in the main dining area. It was quite noisy, and after 10 minutes we had not yet seen a service person. AS a result of the wait and the noise, I asked the hostess to reseat us in a booth in the bar area; much quieter. A waiter -- presumably the same waiter who didn't pick up on our presence in the main dining area -- took our orders. My wife ordered the Salmon BLT (special) and I ordered the Chicken Marsala (special). When our dinners arrived we asked the waitress (not our waiter) who dropped them off to get my wife a glass of water and another Sauvignon Blanc. Ten minutes later, I had to ask Ella (at the bar) to come to our rescue, as we were forgotten. We did not see our waiter until we had finished; then we waited another 15 minutes before seeing him again and asking for the check. Summary -- Bar service is the way to go here! We were simply unimpressed by the level and attentiveness of service at the dining tables. I will try the Livonia location next and see if this failing is endemic to the chain or just local in nature. I know one thing; I would gladly return but would opt to eat at the bar because the attentiveness we received from Ella was superb. read more

Starting off with the appetizer: best pretzel breadsticks EVER. Hands down. You can tell these are freshly baked because when we cut into them they were super warm. ALSO, super soft, squishy, and delicious. I'm not a pretzel person, so this means a lot coming from me. I can see myself coming back just for the pretzel sticks again! The fish and chips was okay: my friend said that the cod would just fall apart so he wants a huge fan but the fries were well seasoned and the cod was tasty. Only issue here is that you probably needed a fork to eat them. My gosh filet was really delicious. Mashed potatoes and veggies were also good! I'm not a fan of eggplant, but luckily there was squash and carrots! My reason for a 5 star is because I loved the service (our server kept bringing us drink, checking up on us, and even the manager stopped at our table to ensure everything was going well) and I really enjoyed our meal. The ambiance is super relaxed and romantic in my opinion. There is an open bar area, but that seems to be in a corner so this would be a nice date spot! read more

Highly recommend this restaurant! We were visiting friends for a get together with a large group (30+ppl). They accommodated our group in under an hour from the call in their banquet space! The waitress was ordered and efficient in taking all of the orders. The food for the entire party came out in about 30 minutes and was still hot! Kudos to the kitchen! We had to wait about five minutes to be seated because there was no hostess. One of the servers came over to seat us, then ultimately took care of serving us as well. Our food was delicious! The service was great! I didn't see anyone who seemed to wait long for anything. The atmosphere in the bar, restaurant, and outdoor patio was stellar! Stoop by the "please wait to be seated" sign for a while, then noticed server 5 ft from me. He was apparently programming the cash register (from scratch). He then asked if what I wanted, and I basically asked for a table for one. He let me seat myself and things improved from there. My order was quickly taken and delivered. A table of 8 arrived and they were quickly served as well. Who orders ice tea at a bar? I did, and this was amazingly good ice tea (dark and strong). The fries were perfect: these are thin cut with skin and a faint hint of breading, hot from the fried and not greasy. Burger was correctly cooked. That said, the bottom of the bun had drown in the water from the lettuce and tomato: soggy to a fault. Hmmmm... usually these items are put on top of the meat, and not underneath. The burger assembly itself was sloppy and what caused me to rank this a four and not a five. The free ice tea to go made this a strong four. read more

Carrot cake was good - fresh and high quality. The piece was small for the cost but one piece can still be shared if you only want about 3 bites each which was enough for 2 of us. Ordered take out from here real late and when I got there I was a little nervous if it was open or not. This is the second time we've eaten here and that I've had a burger. Best burgers cooked to order now twice in a row! The fries were a little too done but everything was good. We also got the Margherita Pizza. Good sauce and crust was okay. This was, without a doubt, the worst dining experience I have ever had. We arrived at 6:15 PM and shockingly had to wait a full 30 minutes just to get water. Things only went downhill from there. It took another 40 minutes for our appetizer to arrive, which, to our horror, had a hair in it. I came to this restaurant eager to try it with my family after reading the positive reviews, but I left deeply disappointed. Our waitress was inattentive and barely acknowledged us throughout the entire ordeal. When our appetizer finally arrived, it was late, cold, and,, also had hair on it! This is simply unacceptable. We had young children with us who ended up waiting over an hour and a half for their food. After repeatedly asking to speak with the manager, we were met with a dishonest attempt to send another waiter pretending to be the manager. Even then, the service remained rude and unprofessional. By 7:50pm our food was still not ready. At that point, we were exhausted and just wanted to leave. With two toddlers under four years old who were starving, we simply could not wait any longer. This was a thoroughly disappointing experience, and I will never return to this restaurant. read more

Been here twice now. First time they were out of power but serving salads and drinks. Was there for a craft night. It was a little crazy but my salad was really good. Last night went back for a bday dinner. Surprised they did not offer a bday dessert. I had stuffed pasta and it was very good and really for me, just enough. Sat down at around 12:17 and it's going on 12:53 on a Saturday with about 3 other sets of guests in the building. 3 people sitting at the bar as well. A party of 4 sat down 10 minutes after we did and are already receiving their food. Waitress is nice, but I think there's a bit of kitchen mis-coordination taking place as our food took an additional 10 minutes. Looks like a party is going on in the next area.... Cheese with the pretzel sticks is VERY watery. Not of a normal consistency you would find with a cheddar or beer cheese at any other establishment. And the mustard was a sweet, vinegary one. Pass on the pretzels. Burger was good, well cooked and the fries were well done as I asked. Nice atmosphere, nice decor, but for a first time experience they're scoring low on the totem pole. Side note: I think our waitress, doing more tables than anyone else. There was a "Pretty Boy" waiter walking around making conversation with every table. I mean, like 2 minute convos, even after taking the order. I think the credit card machine hanging out of his back pocket had him distracted. BUT, our girl was scampering from kitchen to table like a warrior as she may have been the lucky one with the party. We placed the uneaten pretzels on the end of the table hoping for the clean cut guy in the red shirt (I think I caught his name as Michael) to take notice, but his attention was more on taking calls and directing staff than popping in once and a while to see if things are ok even after passing by us 4 times. At the end, they didn't ask about the pretzels and why we sent them back. So if you don't like something, don't expect them to ask about it but freely charge you without issue. Long story short: pay attention to your patrons. Soooo, will we come back? Possibly. I'll have to wait for more reviews to hit to see if it's improved. read more

As last time the 1/2 hr n no one got our order for even drinks. At bar. NO.... never got our pizza and bartender tried to lie about it. Dont appreciate that.
