Truffle Fries
Kaitlin W.

SO GOOD!! One of my top 3 restaurants in the neighborhood! Out of all the places that offer Truffle Fries, Black Label has the BEST version, hands down. They are hot and crispy, and the creamy truffle sauce with fresh Rosemary adds an herbaceous twist on the classic Parmesan-topped appetizer. When you stop in for a bite to eat, don't forget to order the Crispy Brussels Sprouts, as they are another delicious pre-meal snack. The salads, wraps, and sandwiches are unique and creative, and always built with delicious seasonal ingredients. My husband loves the Bourbon Chicken, Forest Chicken, and the Taco Trio. They all taste too good to be true for a little tavern in Milford! Service is consistently fast and efficient, and the waitstaff is kind, fun, and friendly. If you don't know what you want to eat or drink, they always have suggestions when you ask! The atmosphere is warm and classic, yet modern and cool at the same time. The bar area is spacious and inviting, and there's an outdoor patio with comfy seating and fire features at some of the tables. I highly recommend swinging by Black Label for a drink and a snack, if not a full meal with family and friends :)

I have had good luck every time I have eaten there from Saturday brunch to Monday night football. The food is good, not earth shattering. Servers are helpful. I have to give them a great on their carry out - really good. I keep waiting to have a moment that knocks my socks off and will keep trying.

I stopped by on a Saturday afternoon and it was pretty quiet and we got seated immediately. The menu has a nice overall selection and the service wasn't super quick but they might have been understaffed. Besides it's not fast food so it was fine. The burger is decent - not the best but not bad. A little light on salt but cooked right and nicely presented. The chicken wrap is tasty although a tad on the drier side. This is a solid place in Milford for a quality meal above the other nearby fast food options. They do make their own fried and chips which were very good.

Brisket fries and asparagus

Passing through Milford, I recognized the name Black Label Tavern from one in Livonia. With good reviews there, I figured I couldn't go wrong here if they were from the same ilk. We stopped in for lunch hoping to get a couple good sandwiches and a beer. Unfortunately our hopes ended there. The place is really kinda blah. It certainly has the same vibe, decor, and menu, but on a lessor rating. The food was mediocre and rather bland. The beer was not very cold. And the waitstaff was less than interested to be there. Prices were a little high for the quality of food. The LA club and the smoked brisket with fries and a side of asparagus was our lunch. Bland and bland with a side of bland. If I remember correctly, we paid $7 for six pieces of asparagus. I don't bother going into the bathroom to see about cleanliness. The rest of the place was like any other bar. The positive I took from the experience was that the place is definitely in a convenient location. Sorry BLT, I'll hit up a fast food place next time.

Fish and Chips

Starting off with the appetizer: best pretzel breadsticks EVER. Hands down. You can tell these are freshly baked because when we cut into them they were super warm. ALSO, super soft, squishy, and delicious. I'm not a pretzel person, so this means a lot coming from me. I can see myself coming back just for the pretzel sticks again! The fish and chips was okay: my friend said that the cod would just fall apart so he wants a huge fan but the fries were well seasoned and the cod was tasty. Only issue here is that you probably needed a fork to eat them. My gosh filet was really delicious. Mashed potatoes and veggies were also good! I'm not a fan of eggplant, but luckily there was squash and carrots! My reason for a 5 star is because I loved the service (our server kept bringing us drink, checking up on us, and even the manager stopped at our table to ensure everything was going well) and I really enjoyed our meal. The ambiance is super relaxed and romantic in my opinion. There is an open bar area, but that seems to be in a corner so this would be a nice date spot!

Food was decent, not amazing. Service was a bit scarce, but in all fairness there was a bunch of kids there for homecoming dinner.

It feels like we are clubbing in here. Can't have a conversation really. The corn chips are not fresh, could be better if they were freshly made. I want the chips to be good. The elote seems to be mixed with the queso, which is really runny. It tastes better, but could be thicker. The guacamole is average, not a lot of flavor to it. Main food orders in after about 15 minutes after we were seated. The flautas are super dry, the chicken that is. The chicken isn't even jerky like, just bark like burnt. The lobster quesadilla tastes rather interesting. On closer examination after the odd texture of the lobster, it had the strangest layers to it, reminds me of the Krab. Something quite odd about their lobster for sure, comes across to me as imitation meat. Hard to describe how weird it was to me, has completely left me at a loss and utterly confused. Meat doesn't have the chew I expected at all, mostly disintegrated in my mouth without biting it and the odd layers really threw me off exceedingly. My husband asked our waitress about the nature of the lobster meat to Nikki. She asked the kitchen if the lobster meat in the quesadilla and enchiladas was real lobster meat. The kitchen of course said yes, it is. I wouldn't have expected anyone to say the lobster meat was imitation though. Such a strange meal and experience tonight.

Although I only have a very small percentage of Irish in me, I'm celebrating full on and love anything with corned beef! We went on Thursday figuring it would be the least busy of the 4 days, and let me tell you the dinner crowd was hopping. We snagged the last 2 spots at the bar and ordered. I'm not a beer drinker but I appreciated they had 2 rotating taps for hard cider and went with a lemon flavored cider (sounded intriguing and could have went either way so I appreciated the small sample). I actually really liked it and am bummed I forgot to ask who makes it. We both thought the Irish nachos sounded fun and different and when we asked we found out they were huge and could easily feed 2 people. I'm so glad we decided to try something different. They were on homemade potato chips and had corned beef, bacon, banana peppers, thousand island dressing, sauerkraut and of course cheese and sour cream. They did not skimp on the corned beef or bacon!! The service was friendly and the atmosphere lively. We will definitely be back because the regular menu also looked great!!
