Pro tip: Get a pound of their beef bacon which is thinly sliced brisket which cooks up just like bacon and is seasoned with a nice black pepper rub. I said I only wanted two and he said "What am I going to do with the remaining pound?" As if it is my problem. I was NOT wanting to spend $100 on stone crab. Then, they didn't keep fresh for more than a day. DAMN. I bought raw whipping cream and it wouldn't whip (there was too much milk in it) and I spent $12 or so dollars for a pint. Another disappointment. The last visit was a couple months ago. I bought a piece of grouper (with the skin on....which is adding weight and you don't eat the skin) and a smoked mahi fish dip that was HARD pieces of fish. NO MORE! The cows are free to roam the 345-acre property, and Pastures of Rose Creek raises them with no antibiotics, no hormones, and no harmful chemicals. But the proof is in the taste--once you try grass-fed, you simply won't go back! Their steaks are cut to order and make great gifts as well! When I was there, a family was buying a half cow to freeze for barbecues. That's how good it is :) Be sure to try their new Piedmontese beef as well--it has a unique "double muscling" which makes the beef have less cholesterol and fat than chicken while still having that unsurpassed tenderness and flavor.
