When I had a suspected issue and asked for info on a service received they were quick to go over info with me and even offered to redo it even though we both knew it didn't need to be done again (don't worry I didn't make them lol). I had a really good experience with PFM Auto. They got me in the same day, which was a huge help. The pricing was somewhere in the mid to high range, but it makes sense given how quickly they got everything done and the quality of the service. They did a full inspection with photos and gave me a detailed quote. Most shops do that now, but what stood out was how there was absolutely no pushback when I said I only wanted a new tire and my battery swapped. Most shops will upsell you to death and try to convince you to fix things that aren't absolutely necessary. Keith was great to work with. I stopped into Pfm the other day because my annoying low tire pressure signal was appearing on my dashboard. It came on a couple of weeks ago and I ended up with painfully throbbing fingers after filling my four tires at Kroger in Avon for 2x on their air machine at $1.50 a pop. The low tire pressure indicator went off and my fingers eventually thawed out. The light popped on again this week and I stopped at Discount Tires where they checked all 4 tires for free. But unfortunately my light remained on. In the past it's been my spare tire that sets off the signal. Since the light did not go off I figured it was my spare and I stopped at the BP in Nora to check my spare myself. Once again it was freezing out, my fingers started throbbing and I couldn't figure out the tire gauge. I have a RAV4 with my spare on the back. It has a cover that zips on. My hands were so cold I could not get the cover back on, the zipper was stuck. So, on my way home I stopped at Pfm where they had me pull in the garage and the gentleman checked all 4 tires (all good) and he graciously checked my spare as well. Sure enough that was the problem. He also got the cover back on for me. It was free of charge to check my tires. I was so incredibly grateful! It's a bit scary driving with that light on, having a flat tire, especially in these frigid temperatures has me reasonably nervous. Great big thank you to Pfm! read more

This place is great. The people are honest, take exceptional care in servicing your vehicle at a fair price. Scheduling an appointment is easy and they tell you about how long it will take unless there is some discovered, they then will call you to explain what needs done, how long to repair and at what cost. Three weeks ago I had to have a part permanently installed in my company vehicle that was shipped To my hotel. I called around trying to find an a place who install it and everyone was either way overpriced, extremely far away, booked out way to far or refuse to do it. I called Napa and they referred me to PFM because they were in the same strip. I called PFM and from the start it was an extremely positive experience! When I called, the gentleman on the phone listed to me and let me take the time to explain what I needed. Once I finished he asked me questions to ensure he understood my need. He then told me to come on over. PFM was about 5 minutes from my hotel so I did. They had me drive my van into the bay. I showed them the parts that I had and what I wanted them to do after asking a few more questions they said thank you and asked me to wait in the waiting area. The waiting area was very clean had a complementary Keurig coffee machine with various coffee and tea options and the TV was large. Just as I was starting to get pulled into Young & The Restless, they came and told me my car was ready. You guys, I was so surprised. They got in there, did the job very quickly and got me out - and the cost was way cheaper than I expected! Between the genuine friendliness of all the employees, the speed at which they installed what I needed, the customer service and the price; they easily earned this five stars rating! Have been going there for years. Since they are no longer open on Saturdays we can't go there. We need our cars during the week and can only do business with shops open on Saturday. We are NOT alone in this. This is the latest negative change since the new owners took over. The "owner's" response was laughable. read more

UPDATE (9/28/21) I wrote a very negative 2 star review yesterday and would like to update it to a respectable 4 stars after today's return of the vehicle to PFM. They fixed all of the issues with the warning lights and re-hooked up the speedometer. They also adjusted the clutch so it is not so hard to get into 1st and 2nd gear. There seems to be a bit of a "squeak" in the clutch pedal, but I will see if a little DW40 will fix that. Their staff was also very communicative this time and kept me updated with the progress, which I appreciated. We all make mistakes, and I do appreciate how they handled the "return repairs" on the car. I am leaving the original review here for now for reference, but I feel that service companies should be given a second chance and if things are made right, which they were for the most part, that fact should be posted as well. (P.S. No idea why my location is San Francisco (I wish!). I am in Indianapolis, IN and PFM is in Carmel, IN.) ------------------------------------------ 9/24/21 Had to have the clutch replaced in my Kia Soul (5 speed manual). Not a small job, which I understood. I was asked to bring in car Tuesday at noon and it would be done by end of day Wednesday. I was given an estimate of around $1,100. The final bill was closer to $!,800. Apparently they could not resurface the flywheel and had to go with a new one, thus the extra cost. I was not consulted on this. I did not get the car back until Friday afternoon. Their communication throughout was less than stellar. But the real problems had only begun. When I went to pick up the car on Friday I was told that there were warning lights that were on, (tire pressure, check engine, ABS brakes). But it could be the "change in weather" that the tire pressure was on and they checked all tires and it went off. As I drove off the lot, I noticed that the SPEEDOMETER was not working. My guess is that none of the sensors were hooked back up properly. I really did need the car over the weekend, so I told them that I would need all of the issues corrected and I would be bringing the car back this week to complete the repair. To be honest, it was also very difficult to get the clutch into 1st and 2nd gear. Seems that the clutch could have been adjusted a bit better as well. I will allow them the opportunity to make things right, but all in all, it is totally unacceptable to have a major repair done and not have the job done right. (I considered a single star but, I will give them the benefit of the doubt and add another review when the situation is resolved this week.Sss read more

I love PFM in Carmel! All of the employees are super friendly and knowledgeable. They provide excellent customer service. I have been a PFM of Carmel customer for 3 years. I have had them change oil, replace tires and put a new alternator in my car. My alternator went out at 4:30 PM on a Wednesday. PFM replaced my alternator and had me on my way by 6:30 PM. We had the absolute best experience with PFM from beginning to end. I found them because they were a certified AAA mechanic so I had confidence. We had two older vans that both had some issues and we brought them into get looked at. They were extremely gracious, courteous and very honest. The news on our vans was not good but it was delivered in a manner that made us feel as though our best interest was at heart. We decided not to get our vans fixed because the guys were very honest about what was wrong and the cost versus worth aspect. Many mechanics I have been too would have done anything to get us to spend money that we did not have in order to fix the issue but not PFM. I knew they wanted our business but at the same time they were honest enough with us so we could make the best decision possible. Bought good year tires online. Set up appointment to put them on. They took it back just fine. Then the guy comes up and tells me they've broken multiple stems. They want to charge me almost $200 (more once taxed) to fix the issue. I get things happen. However as a trained person, you should be able to tell when things are about to break like this. Also, Why would you do it once and then continue to do it? Once is on me the rest they should have to pay for since they didn't stop. I wastold they'd shave some off the labor. Sickening!! Then, I called another auto place that I now have to tow my car to and they are half the price to fix the issue. I have to walk home 2 miles in 30 degree weather because I have no money to pay for a ride. Go elsewhere, lugnuts are basic and they are not smart enough to stop after one. Nor stop when they would have been able to tell they were forcing it. read more

I moved to this area about 3 years ago, and PFM has serviced my car several times for repairs and routine maintenance. The staff has consistently been fair, friendly, and trustworthy. As an example, when I went to my dealer for a recall servicing, they told me that I needed new rear brakes ASAP. I then asked PFM to look at them, and they showed me that my brakes were still within spec and would not need servicing for another several months. When I did finally get my brakes done, PFM charged me significantly less than the dealer quoted, and with OEM parts. Definitely recommended. read more

AWESOME! We were 7.5 hours into a 6 day trip out west and we were pulling a fifth wheel and additional trailer. It was Saturday of Christmas weekend. The "low voltage light" came on when we were set to leave Indy in the morning. We had a new alternator put on the week prior. PFM got us in that morning. They found that the cable clamp was loose and corroded. We were at their location for approximately 1.5 hours and the Merrill was our mechanic. We were so happy to have such a minor repair, they offered us our AAA discount, the price was extremely reasonable, and we were on our way by 11:00am that weekend. Disgusting. Scam. I took my vehicles here 3-4 times. I thought I finally found a place of integrity, I was wrong. They charged me for items (brake pedal electrical wire) that they never serviced. When I questioned it, they lied to me. I then told them about a lawyer friend of mine that told me about "fraud and abuse". They then changed their entire story and didn't charge me for the item. Also, tried ripping me off for a part I found online after they said they couldn't find it anywhere in the country. I told them, I found it at O'Reilly Auto Parts (I can order it myself). They said they can order it for me but it was $120 more, an upcharge for ordering it for me. This place is pathetic. They deserve negative stars. Go to Mears in Carmel. read more

On January 29th took my Honda CRV to the shop to patch a screw hole in the tire. It took much longer than usually to repair flat tire. The manager came out and told me that they broke pressure sensor while fixing tire, however they replaced the sensor and everything now works. At evening TPMS light was on. After that, I spent four Saturdays in the shop's waiting room and they told me that they still can't fix the sensor. Honda dealer ship fixed the problem for $85 during the first visit. I asked the shop manager to at least compensate the $85 I spent to fix their breakage, but they didn't. My advice, if you need to fix something simple go to PFM, but if you need professional repair go to serious organization; thinking about your time (and money), it would be cheaper. read more
