The worst public service monopoly! They gas light us all to pay for their mistakes, all the fires and lives and livelihoods lost. Yet the cost is passed on to the consumer! Ever increasing costs!!! In 2019 my power was out for 5 days! I never got any reimbursement either because it was due to a "wind event" Listen, the wind isn't my fault! You can pay for my lost groceries! Currently my power has been out for 7 hours and is not expected to come on for another 2 hours!!! On the website to get any payment or credit your power has to be off for 24 hours. This is ridiculous!! My power will be out for a total of 9 hours and I'm sure I've lost everything in my fridge and freezer. PG&E doesn't care about the consumer just their bottom line! Should not even be allowed to operate with the damages they've caused in CA. Even insurance companies are pulling out of CA due to fires... PG&E caused. I'm tired of paying for PG&E's mistakes! I live in a one bedroom condo and my bill is estimated to be over $300 this month for just me. I've not even used my heater! I'd rather freeze than spend over $300 for my gas and electric. My bill used to be $150 in the winter months (using heater). Now no matter what it's always over $200. There needs to be a cap on public utilities. They raise rates worse than the feds! We get frequent power outages and if I look to find out about the status of my area, I get an automated phone recording that doesn't help at all. If it is PG&E's intention to aggravate people, you have succeeded exponentially! In calling the 800# listed here and following the voice mail prompts exactly, I was told there was no such account # ... that I am looking at right on the statement and entered the accurate account #. In requesting an "agent" the voice mail says the agent is not an option. Round and round and round until I hang up and call back only to receive the same round and round from the last call, until after about 15 minutes of dealing with the voicemail and trying different #'s, I finally got a real person on the phone. It is usually an unpleasant experience getting to a live person with PG&E. read more

If I could give a lower rating I would. What's the deal with a 15 service window? I was told that I needed to have them out today in an emergency for a carbon emmissions issue with my really new water heater, and that they would be here by 8;00pm. The appointment time rolls around, and no tech. I killed my entire day waiting for these guys, and PG&E says that I can wait until midnight, or they could rebook another 8 hour window for you tomorrow. What? Seriously? Your typical PG&E Service Center, open M-F, located in downtown Antioch. Easy street parking, friendly staff, and same-day payments .... I have stopped in here several times to pay our PG&E bill, while walking the doggies. They are pet friendly and have never given me any problems about bringing my well-behaved dog inside to pay our bill. This service center also has an automatic station where you can pay without waiting in line for a person. You just need to have either your account number or phone number associated with the account. Strawberry Park neighborhood in San Jose has experienced an inordinate amount of power outages. I recently moved here (2016) from the College Park Neighborhood where I resided for many years and never experienced so many days of power failures. This is a constant problem and P G & E needs to fix whatever is causing the power to fail. Rates have gone up and service has gone down. P G & E is not providing the service that customers are paying for. Just a note today is August 16, 2020 at approximately 3:30 am the power went out to 250 in our area, at 9:15am the affected area is 256. It is now 10:30 am no power. Yesterday is was off in the late afternoon for over an hour. Need I say if I were the Mayor of San Jose PG& E would have the power restored by now owing to politics. We are not important enough to merit equipment that should have been updated decades ago. I live on Pinewood Dr since 2016 there have been Between 12-15 outages. One of those days was on Thanksgiving. In comparison to my previous residence of decades I barely remember any because it was not an issue, and incredibly outages were not for hours. Not sure what service my husband used with pg&e. They came to the house. They checked windows, heaters, filters doors. Sealed up doors. Well they screwed up my laundry room door to the garage. I needed assistance and guidance in the right direction of the removal of trees in my yard.....had the card from a PG&E guy, BILL BUSHEY, from a while back. Not knowing WHO to go to I called Bill and left a message. He called me back within 30 minutes and agreed to come by since he was in the area. I was worried about the tree roots being close to the gas line. Not only was he VERY informative, he did some checking and got back to me that same day with some very useful information that put me on the right road for my problem!! Ran into him a few days later on the road and he stopped to ask how it went. I was surprised he recognized me!! What a guy! His friendliness, knowledge, and willingness to assist was amazing!! We noticed that our stove emitted a yellowish-orange flame. This was on all 4 burners. Not sure of the cause, we placed a emergency call to PG&E. No fire dept. The technician arrived in about 40 minutes. He solved the problem without touching anything. We had a humidifier running on the kitchen island countertop. Jerome politely informed us that excess humidity causes gas flames to change from blue to yellow. We couldn't believe it. Jerome followed all of the prescribed procedures and protocols in checking the stove, the furnace and the water heater. No defects noted. In and out in less than 45 minutes. Jerome is thoroughly professional, knowledgeable and courteous. Well done. And thank you again. read more

On May 14th 2020, around 3:00pm,(Vehicle info, plate#: 45290P1, ID#: PC6263), PG&E employee, was driving on the wrong side of the road speeding, blocks my vehicle from moving, gets out as if to start a fist fight, and demands to know where our meters are. I explained they are on the side of each building. She demanded that I take her to them. I couldn't because I was working on an emergency, and told her there is nothing preventing her from seeing them. She then blackmailed me and said if I don't stop what I am doing, and walk her to them, that she will shut down service to the entire property. I left at that point. She then walked to the back of the building as my coworker told her the ground is not level. She then looks around, pretends to fall down, pats some dirt on herself, and then claims we should have warned her about the ground. She then pretends to limp back to her vehicle and another worker comes to replace her. I am pretty sure her intention is to fake an insurance or workmen's comp claim. I have never seen a worse behaved adult, and I don't know why PG&E allows their employees to act this way. And I will say "allows" because I called three different branches of PG&E, and everyone I spoke to was so dismissive and uncaring about the situation. read more

$400 to heat a 700 sq ft apartment ......I have a specific checking account (that I don't use anymore) set up for just PG&E. Every month we would get our very expensive PG&E bill, and they would give me about 2 weeks before it auto withdrawals. A few days before the auto withdrawal payment (that's set up for the exact same day each month) I transfer the balance from my other account to cover it. I've never missed a payment. Well we decided to move outta California ( I suggest you do as well) and our final payment was scheduled for same date. Well nope they auto with drawled it 5 days early resulting in an overdraft fee. Had a technician come out because we had an unusually large gas bill and he turns off our gas water heater to check for leaks. Well he left the gas to it off and did not relight the pilot light. And now we can't get it to light and are going to have to replace the whole pilot light assembly because this stupid mother fucker turned it off. I'm at the West Sac office at 2220 Lake Washington Boulevard where the office hours on the door Reid 8:30 to 5 PM. I'm trying to pay my friends PG&E bill with cash set there's a paper note on the door that says office breaks 11:10 to 11:20 then the lunch time then the afternoon break. I was just the victim of a scam perpetrated by PG&E, yes that's right Pacific Gas and Electric! I called to have a service put into my name, after I thought we were done the PG&E customer service person told me he needed to transfer me to a third party to verify my order. I had never had this happen, but figured it was some sort of enhanced verification process to stop possible scams.
