PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS SHOP!!!!! Tl; dr: My car burst into flames 20 minutes after they "repaired" it. They won't return my money without me suing them. I took my car there for repairs. Water pump and Power steering pump. They "found" another issue and charged me an additional $400 to "fix" it, bringing my total to $2300. Then when I left the shop FIRST my check engine and traction control lights were on and they werent on when i took it to them. I went back to the shop they didn't even LOOK under the hood. Then, before I made it home, my car BURST INTO FLAMES. The shop owner is denying liability and I am having to sue him using a lawyer. I will get more than I paid but I tried to guve him the opportunity to be decent and just return my money. He basically stole my money and did horrible work to my car. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SHOP!!!!!! They will trump up charges, do shoddy work, then steal your money. read more

This review is long overdue. I've been coming here for about two years for basic maintenance. Daniel doesn't even yell at me for going 500 miles over my oil change numbers LOL. Long story short. Courteous. Affordable. Doesn't try to scam you. Will ACTIVELY try to save you money or will guide you away from spending money unnecessarily. I had been using SeaFoam in my Nissan six speed....REGULARLY....still getting the check engine light on even though I'm using high octane gas plus SeaFoam. Daniel ran the diagnostic tool when my check engine light came on and sure enough it was running lean and needed more air etc He recommended (3rd time!) that I try his BG fuel Service and I looked out at my car and saw the black carbon blowing in the wind. Once again (for me...) this is a LOOONG overdue review. I was in a bind with a dying transmission and limited funds. We all know that it is easy for a lot of shop owners to try to get over and take advantage of a single woman. Sadly for them I am not that sucka! I didn't have to worry about that with Daniel. He was sensitive to my situation, very upfront with any charges and accommodating to my worker bee/single mom schedule. I found my new mechanic! (The one I was going to for years before was going to do me a "favor" and charge me hundreds more with LESS warranty on the work!) I researched the usual places for an oil change and came across Phamatic Automotive Services. I called initially but immediately brought my car in, which is located in the Exxon station on Baltimore Ave. Daniel was extremely personable and knowledgeable, and I received an oil change that was fast and efficient. In addition, his oil change was the lowest in town! The mechanic who performed the work(I did not get his name) was fast and professional. They also did a quick check of my brakes and advised me to come in a few months later to replace my rotors. I already knew this because my brakes were starting to grind. Also, If you drive a cab, Uber, or Lyft, Daniel will provide special discounts for assorted services. As a female, I did not feel like I was being fast-talked to or pressured to purchase additional services, but one thing is for sure, I was taken care of from start to finish! Working in customer service for the past 20 years, I know the goods when I see it! Their impeccable customer service and A+ attention to detail encourages me to get all of my car needs done in one location. If you're tired of being hijacked and lied to, often dealing with dishonest mechanics and places pulling a fast one, then look no further. I am updating this review. While it is true You don't feel objectified or out of place and you're treated with respect, I don't recommend this place. I got my oil changed here and later my oil cap popped off and my engine seized. They won't return my insurance's call so I can get my deductible reimbursed. I'm very lucky that's all I had to pay. It's worth it to me to go to the dealer. A $4000 engine replacement is not worth the money I saved getting my oil changed here. read more

I usually never leave horrible reviews or good reviews. But this is probably worst experience I had at car center. So because i had to be at work at 1pm. I made appointment at 11:45 am for oil change. Oil change does not take more than 1hr or so. I arrived at 11:40 am. They tell me that there is 2 walk in guest ahead of me. My thought is what is the point of making reservation. I texted owner who accepted appointment, he tells me he can't wait for me to arrive so he accepted another customer. But i arrived 5 minutes before my appointment. On top of missing the delivery of promise of appointment, Receptionist is inefficient even in front of frustrated guest. She realized that they dont have the part in store that they need for their car. It took awhile for part to arrive i understand thats not something you can control. But she could had put the order in as soon as she knew if they did not have the part in house so that it can expedite the service. After all the hoops to jump through, Well i ended up getting out at 2 pm. Hour late for what i had be after this. The owner and their attendants really needs to look up definition of appointment. It was just awful experience overall. And the attitude of "what am I supposed to do" by the receptionist and owner really didn't help. read more

First and foremost the owner Daniel knows the business well. He has excellent customer service skills and is very knowledgeable. He gives it to you straight, let's you know upfront what he can do for your vehicle and for you. He is willing work to with you and give you guidance and sound advice so that you can make an informed decision. He will talk with your insurance company and/or warranty company to handle that business, so you can be worry free. I recently had a terrible experience with the Darcars Nissan shop. Daniel had my car towed from their shop to his, fixed the problem and also repaired my broken sideview mirror which I did not even ask and guess what... I did not pay a dime for any of the services! He actually made a way for me to get money back for the trouble I had with Darcars Nissan. At Phamatic Automotive services, you can expect Daniel to give you an explanation of what is going on with your vehicle, and an estimated timeline of when you can expect to get back on the road. This is basically a mobile car repair service. It's so convenient, affordable, and Daniel is very prompt and professional. I also appreciate that he is real with you about what you actually need and what you don't, which is really hard to find because usually auto repair places are trying to con you out of every penny, but not with this service! Do NOT go here! I purchased an oil change here on LivingSocial.com at a reasonable price. I called the shop and the phone message said no appt. necessary. I called later to see if I could get an appt. since I was planning my day around it and was told I HAD to make an appt. online, which I did. Online it stated that the shop had to confirm the appt. which they never did, so a couple days prior to the appt., I emailed to verify the appt and never received a response. After calling, scheduling online, and emailing, I went to my appt. time and not only did they refuse to see me that day, they refused to give me an appt. for the next 3 mo. for an oil change stating they were busy and backed up (my coupon was valid for 3 mo). I don't see how they are that busy given the lack of service. I also was told to contact LivingSocial for a refund, but of course LivingSocial states that the shop has to provide the refund for at least what I paid. I have had lousy oil change experiences, but never this bad. I recommended saving the frustrating and going elsewhere. read more

The mechanic is a guesser. I originally took my car in to replace the heater motor blower for my heat. He replaced it, and the next day it waas blowing cold air. Then he says I needed a radiator flush. I get that and the next day it's still blowing cold air. Then he says i need to change my thermostat. Then he says I need a heater core flush. I get that and it's still blowing cold air and then he says he doesn't know what else to do except replace the heater core but to give it some time because it may warm up. Then my manifold intake cracks. I drop it off on a Saturday. I had to call him on Monday afternoon to find out a status and he tells me I need a new manifold. I order the part and it arrives on Thursday morning. He said it would take 3 hrs to put in. I called at 5 and he said it was almost done. I caught an uber to his shop and he said he wasnt done yet and needed more time. I call Friday at 1 and ask if it's done and he said it would be doone by 5. I go back via uber and he tells me I had a defective part. So I had to go to autozone and get another part and drop it off on Saturday morning. He said it would take 3 hours. I go back at 5pm after no call and he still working on it. It's now 8pm and he says I replaced the part but now it's a big misfire and I can't figure out what it is. So I call back on Monday and he's still working on it. I go up today and he's still not done. I ask specific questions and couldn't get a straight answer other then he was busy and backed up with other cars and he's the only mechanic. I had to take my car elsewhere. I was more than flexible but he comes across as a beginning mechanic learning on the fly. He just moved into this location at the Exxon. read more
