My doctor sent me to Dr. Phan for a colonoscopy my first appointment was very hesitated because I read on Yelp it so many things for me to be caution. I told myself just to be nice with them and let's see what happened. When I walked in his office for my first appointment 10 minutes early I sign in and a minute later the people in front office very polite and greet me right away, one of the girl gave me the papers to fill it out after finish with my papers I met with Dr. Phan right away. Dr Phan's very polite very kind and gentle, he asked all the questions about my health then send me home he told me he will request for my colonoscopy when it get approved then his receptionist will call me to make appointment for my colonoscopy. I am very pleased with his services. Then my second times I met with the receptionist to get all the papers and the prescription for the prep of my colonoscopy. On July 20th I went in to get my colonoscopy when I walked in the facility at 6am the only one person there doing everything by herself, she is very sweet she got all the paperwork done and I'm ready to go in, there are 7 nurses in that facilities they make me very comfortable because they knew I was nervous and scared. Dr. Jackie introduce herself and tell me a little bit about the procedure, she gave me comfortable to be okay and not to be scared then Dr. Phan came in with his team the minute he said Hi then I was out when I woke up it was done. Dr. Phan team are amazingly. Thank you very much too all. This is how I met Dr. Phan and go through my colonoscopy step by step with Dr Phan and his team. There's no way for 1 or 2 stars for his services, if there is a 10 stars he earn it from me. read more

I would have to say this is one of the worst doctor's offices I have ever dealt with. I called to get my test results and was told to call back two days later. When I called back, the receptionist was extremely rude and told me I would have to keep calling until the doctor was available. She refused to provide any information about my results.I then asked if I could schedule an appointment to discuss the results. She told me no and said the doctor was booked for months. When I asked how patients were supposed to receive their results if they couldn't get an appointment, I didn't get a helpful answer.I requested a copy of my results. She said she couldn't email them but could fax them to another doctor. I provided the fax number, but my other doctor's office never received anything. She then told me I would have to come to the office to pick up a copy myself.After making the trip to the office, I was given a copy that was barely readable. When I questioned it, the receptionist was dismissive and said that was how it was sent to her, so that was how I would receive it. Her attitude throughout the entire process was unprofessional and lacked any concern for patients. Fortunately, the office manager was very kind and apologized for the situation. However, the receptionist's behavior reflected very poorly on the practice.The doctor eventually called me back and was polite, but he didn't seem very concerned when I explained what had happened. I give the customer service one star. The lady I contacted that day was Han (that is the name she told me). My appointment was at 10:30, and I waited until 10:50 but nobody called me. Instead, 2 or 3 people who came after me were called to go inside first. It was a horrible experience from start to finish. The front office staff is beyond RUDE!!!! My mom needed to request a copy of her results. Was asked as a favor to come in to fill in some paperwork for a patient that isn't me. Arrived and tried to asked for instructions on how to go about this only to be grilled by the rude receptionist. She insisted on me signing in and I tried to tell her that I wasn't the patient. She then tells me that "she wasn't going to help me" I then again tell her that I am not the patient. She then finally instructed me to put the patient's name and dob. I get it we all have issues in our personal lives and dealing with people is very difficult. I did call this office this morning to make an appointment for my Mom because her PCP referred her to them. The receptionist said the earliest appointment will be in the first week of September or so. I told her whether there is any way to squeeze her in if there is a patient will cancel the appointment this month or not. She said NO right away without thinking of helping a new patient. My mom got referred to this physician from her primary doctor. She needed to reschedule her endoscopy. My brother took her to the office and the receptionist was really RUDE to my mom and my brother. She had them rescheduled for a month later. Two weeks later I found out my work schedule changed and I couldn't take my mom on that day so I called and asked to reschedule, she took the phone call very unprofessional and She made me feel like I said or did something really bad, she told me my mom already rescheduled so many time, and she asked me WHY, WHY DOES SHE EVEN DO THAT..?? .. I came in with my sister the other day because she needed to make an appointment for a check up here. They said to call at 9, but since we were dropping off the kids for summer school, we decided to come in to to put her name down instead of calling them to put her name down. Performed abdominal surgery on me at Fountain Valley Medical Center. He was 4 hours late coming to the surgery and obviously very tired about 8:30 PM. I had pancreatitis and he was supposed to perform a laparoscopic procedure and check my pancreas. I woke up a few days later and he had opened my chest from my navel to my diaphragm. Not only that, but when he stapled it closed, he did it sideways, so I have about 2" more skin on one side than the other!!!! I ended up having a hernia in my diaphragm from his sub-standard work a little over two years later. I consulted an attorney at the time and was advised the statute of limitations had expired. I should have sued the bastard. I'm not the type to sue a doctor for malpractice, but this guy definitely deserved to be brought in front of the Medical Quality Assurance Board in CA. If there is a grade of 0 star, I would put on a 0 without hesitation. This place has the worst receptionist I have ever seen in my entire a life. And I work in a health care setting, where patient's HEALTH AND COMFORT MUST be the priority. In this place, the receptionist seems to DISAGREE. Due to my heavy work load, I forgot about my appointment (which they should have made a call and reminded like every other places). I called them that morning around 10am and my appointment is 11am that I couldn't make it in time. And the receptionist start lecturing me about should have put in my calendar, annoyed at how I waste their time and hang up on me. I was shocked.... I honestly was shocked after that phone call because I have never gotten any receptionist yelling at me before like this. So the next day(around 3pm), I made another call to ask if I could do walk in on the next day, and they told me to call them on next morning or else they will refuse me for the appointment. Let me tell you something. I know this place is a CalOptima insurance network and the doctor is very good and knowledgeable (which is why your pcp sent you there). The receptionists are the worst and if you feel your health is on the line, don't ever go here or else they will refuse you and put you on hold for another 2 months just for a 15min consultation appointment. Your health is the most important thing, there are other places for colonoscopy in CalOptima network. Check them out and don't waste your time on these receptionists. I do hope the doctor read this so that he knows how bad these people are treating his patient and realize they are killing his business. read more

The front desk is a 3-foot thick concrete wall. First I wanted to make a appointment, first available date is one and a half month away. Then I asked for a walk-in, I was told to call at 9AM the next business day. I called at 9:30 and was told no, it is too late for the day. Frontdesk attitude is neither helpful nor friendly. This doctor is horrible. I was under his care for a few months and my condition got a lot worse. He did not even bother to use conventional treatment with me because the medication has "Bad side effects". My situation ran out of control since I am not being treated properly and I had to be transferred to another hospital and another doctor after many fights with the incompetent doctor because he finally admitted he did not know what else he could do. That would have been helpful months ago. He would not order pain meds to me even though I just came out of a major operation telling me to take Tylenol. He should have his license revoked. This doctor's office is in the building right next to Garden Grove hospital. I came there several times to treat my problem. The office is a little old but neat. Their staffs were very helpful and super fast on getting authorization for patients (I had a HMO insuance). The doctor was very careful and dedicated. The outcome of the treatment is that my problem is gone now. Very appreciate for his treatment and his staff's service. That's what you expect when coming to a doctor. read more
