We went the this brewery on a Monday afternoon. First, THANKS FOR BEING OPEN! Many people take off on Mondays and it can be a challenge to find a good restaurant. The bar was beautiful and elegant. The menu was vast and they had a reasonable lunch menu. I had the wedge salad and beer cheese soup. All, was delicious, but I felt the soup could have been thinned out with a touch of milk. It presented more like a dip. I could have used some yummy tortilla chips. I did take it home and add the milk and this did help. The salad was a true wedge salad and very tasty. I did like that we were given rain checks for the beer that came with our lunch special. This was a nice gesture since we had kids and didn't want to have a beer. I know I will return. First off the vibe you get as soon as you walk in the establishment is very welcoming. It's lit up and that definitely makes the mood lighter. Also the host and other employees greets you with a smile like they actually enjoy their job and assisting customers. The restaurant was very clean as well. The beer and libations are plentiful and refreshing. I had ordered a shepherds pie and it was delicious. It was the best tasting I've had in a while. The only thing I didn't like was once you dug into it you mostly got mashed potatoes. Like there was a big glob of potatoes and the beef and vegetables were around it. I'm used to a layer of mashed potatoes on top. Just enough to mix with the other ingredients. I'm not knocking the taste just the presentation. They recently had a hunt for the Leprechaun here. So this is actually a really solid option and it's one that I've come to many times. For me, I use a 3 as like good average. The food here is usually really good. In the past, I've very much enjoyed the fish and chips and the bison burger. This trip we tried the elote dip, which was yummy with a little bit of kick but not too much. I had the pork chop -the shrimp part was perfect and the sausage and the rice was very good, but the chop itself was a little bit dry. One of my companions had a beer flight and all four beers were ones we would order again. The tacos, both the fish and the carnitas, were enjoyed although both people who had the tacos suggested a crunchy element would be nice. Wheelchair accessibility: there is accessible parking close both paid street and lot. Sometimes it's a little bit tricky to find a curb cut to get up onto the sidewalk, depending on how you cross the road. The front doors are heavy so you'll need help but in general most of the restaurant's fairly accessible. There's a lot of different seating options. It is pretty tight getting through tables/aisle. The bathroom door's a little bit heavy, but not too bad, but there is no accessible stall, at least in the women's restroom, despite being marked as such. And the soap is out of reach. All in all this is really worth a stop if you're in downtown. read more

I ended up getting the Pattie melt for dinner here on St. Patrick's Day. It was of course a little busy because it was a holiday, but honestly, I feel like everything did come out pretty quick! I mean, not noticeably longer than any other day. The wings were good, but they were a little dry! Not as juicy as I'd like for wings. But the Pattie melt was so juicy and the burger was well cooked (I would've liked a little pinker but again, not a problem!). It was everything you want in a sandwich. And the fries were good too! I wish you got more though because it did feel like a semi small amount. But pricing was good! Our server was very nice and attentive. The vibes aren't too bad either! We chose Phantom Canyon based on strong Yelp reviews, but unfortunately our experience didn't live up to the hype. When we arrived, we waited quite a while for a hostess to appear--which should have been our first indication that the service might be off. We were seated and a waitress came by fairly quickly to take our drink order, but that's where things seemed to fall apart. The restaurant wasn't busy at all--we arrived at 5 PM for an early dinner--yet service was extremely slow. When our drinks finally arrived, mine was incorrect, and since the person delivering them wasn't the one who took the order, I had to flag someone down just to get it corrected. And then the waiting began again. At some point, our original waitress left for the evening, and no one informed us. We eventually flagged down another waiter who kindly took our food order. When our meals arrived, the presentation was good, but a food runner simply dropped the plates and walked away. My husband didn't receive any condiments for his burger, and after another long wait, I finally spotted some on the hostess stand and got them myself. The staff literally stood in a hallway leading to the kitchen and chatted like no patrons were present. The food itself was just okay--nothing special. My husband's bison burger was noticeably small compared to similar dishes at other local restaurants. When we were ready to leave, we again waited an extended time for someone to bring the check. As we walked out, the restaurant had become quite full, yet the wait staff still appeared to be moving very slowly, almost as if there was no sense of urgency despite the crowd. Overall, despite a nice atmosphere and good presentation, the slow and inconsistent service overshadowed the meal. Based on our experience, we wouldn't return. read more

Wow! A must try in the area! First off our server Patricia was an absolute gem and delight. She really made our meal perfect. We tried a few different beers before going with a flight and I went with their Paloma beer it was so unique and delicious. We ordered the Oktoberfest platter and a beer cheese soup for me. Weekend in Colorado Springs and thought a burger and salad sounded good. Phantom Canyon was close by and recommended by our hotel concierge. The restaurant felt like an old western haunt with wood floors and a large bar. The light fixtures were interesting and the large windows gave it an open feel. For a Friday afternoon, it was fairly busy. We ordered a burger with fries and the roasted beet salad with chicken, prosciutto, pears, beets, goat cheese, fried almonds and verje vinegarette. Some of the beets were small, some larger pieces and pears cut into small tiny slices. Nothing made sense. The burger was fair, the lettuce leaf was wilted and that was the thinnest tomato I've ever seen. The salad was bland with several ingredients but nothing that complimented each other. The experience was nothing special and our server used one word, awesome. I have no desire to return and am sure I can find a better burger and salad elsewhere in Colorado Springs. read more

Great find in the Springs. We met family here and sat near the window on a cold a snowy April day. It's been a while since I've had Shepherd's pie and theirs was tasty, well seasoned and the portion was undersized for the price. My guy *loved* his lemon tabasco fried chicken - there wasn't a morsel left, lol. My bite was so good: zesty with a pop of what you'd expect from tabasco. A note about the sides though - zero flavor. Both the broccoli and potatoes needed butter and seasonings. We each had a craft beer - I chose a sour and he opted for an IPA. Both yummy. We had fond memories of the fish and chips there from a previous visit a number of years ago. They were some of the best we have had in the states. When we knew we would be going this way, we had to stop at Phantom Canyon again. It did not disappoint. The food was outstanding. We had the pretzel for appetizer. My husband again had the fish for his entree, it was still amazing. I had the carnitas tacos. And the icing on the cupcake of the visit was such a nice and personable wait staff. We way over ordered, but everything we ordered was so good! We had a couple beers, shared the pretzel and cheese (which I really wanted being that it was October and I was totally craving an Oktoberfest - this was as close to that as I was going to get this year), I had the fish tacos and he had a pulled pork sandwich. Service was excellent. It was the middle of the day so super quiet and chill but I'm sure this place is more of a scene at a different time of day. I've asked my son several times if he's been back which is how much I liked the food and drinks. We'll definitely have to stop back in when I'm in town.
