It is very disappointing that I have to give such a low review for this restaurant. I've been here twice and received polar opposite service & quality both times. Let me first start by saying this is a good restaurant, they have an excellent liquor selection and very quality steaks which are both very rare to find in a restaurant in this region. Unfortunately my experience just this evening was very disappointing and the service was borderline disrespectful. Without going into too much detail my entree was sent back to the kitchen which in a normal situation wouldn't be the end of the world. The service thereafter is what really threw me off... apparently during the time when I took 2 bites into my meal the entire kitchen staff left leaving the restaurant incapable of rectifying the burnt steak that was ordered medium-rare. Long story short I left the restaurant with an empty stomach and a $170 bar bill. I've been supporting this establishment for years when they were in Middletown as the Bull Room & Nina. Not once in my prior experiences would I be told "oh well the cooks left for the night" and be aloud to leave on an empty stomach. While I sympathize with the complexities of running a business during a pandemic I don't think this is a time to allow customers to leave your restaurant under the circumstances that I was in tonight, especially given the amount of money we spent on top-shelf liquor. I hope they figure out how to provide the same quality of customer service they have for years because what happened tonight was down right wrong and the perfect way to lose a repeat customer. read more

He literally said, "well I could to tell you, but I'd have to go to the office so just look it up." Despite this I decided to return a week later with a reservation. The 2 stars are because the food was good - otherwise, this placed has missed the mark. The service was extremely poor, as we waited well over an hour for our food. Went with a group of girls on a Thursday night. We had a great time. The food was absolutely delicious and the drink menus options are creative and a must have. The menu has a variety of options so there is something for everyone. Our waiter was very attentive and also showed us a few magic tricks which had us very entertained. One thing when going is make sure you make a reservation regardless of the day of week or time. They are a new busy restaurant and comply with social distancing. We had a reservation for 5. 3 of us arrived a few minutes earlier than the other couple and were taken upstairs to a beautiful room. Unfortunately, one of the members of the party just had double knee replacements and couldn't climb the steep staircase. We were led back down to the main restaurant, which I felt had a completely different vibe. Our server was amazing (I wish I found out her name). The food was incredible. My fiance and I went to this cool new restaurant!!!! We have 7 kids between us so we like to go out on date nights!! This place has the vibe of NYC without the traveling!! We were seated immediately and greeted by our FANTASTIC waitress Martha!! She was extremely attentive and always checking on us!! The food was awesome too!! There aren't too many places in Goshen to get a solid craft cocktail, so I was excited about Pharmacy Kitchen and Bar. The restaurant opened up in the old Baxter's pharmacy, and goes for a sort of "medical" theme. And in many ways it meets my expectations. In others, I'm still very frustrated, in part because I want this place to be a great restaurant. The drinks are good. The food is decent, but it can be very hit or miss. Some items I love, like their Monte Cristo. The duck confit tacos are also great. Other options, including a recent fried chicken special, I wanted to love, but the execution was poor. Perhaps one of the most frustrating elements however is that there is a clear lack of communication between the kitchen and the front of the house. Very often items will be out, and the wait staff is never told. This failure to communicate is embarrassing for the wait staff, but also infuriating to the customer. Once you order, you don't want to have to change your mind because you're told "oh never mind, we're out of that." The owners are good people, but they need to work on ensuring that the place is well run. With some work, this place could be one of the top bars in the area. read more

She was terrible to her co-workers (and apparently half owner which is worse) my main issue is that as a guest I heard her cursing and degrading her team which is very against any 'service' atmosphere. Who knew brunch extends to Monday at this funky spot. Went in on a rainy, gloomy Monday not expecting much at two in the afternoon and was quickly very pleasantly surprised. The former Pharmacy location gives the place its cool Pharmacy themed vibe - drink menu had me reaching for just what the doctor ordered.... Yummy cocktails with names like The Oxycodon, Morphine, Cotton Ball are cleverly served up with infusion bag and syringe -great touch! The 'Dr.' behind the bar (bartender Autumn) is awesome! Even though I was just a party of one, she made me feel welcome and comfortable. She patiently explained the drink menu of 'prescriptions' and delicious brunch/lunch menu options. I chose the Nose Candy which Autumn prepared to perfection complete with little white powder packet to accompany the delicious concoction. Relax it was sugar. Bravo also to the chef. 9/4/21 - As a person who lived in goshen for 8 years i was really excited for this establishment because the village needed a spot like this. But UNFORTUNATELY i was very DISAPPOINTED. The whole idea of the place is cool but the service is terrible and the food was not all that. I find it quite pricey for the quality of food. The waitress we had was new so I understood if she was a little slow that wasn't my problem my problem was I ordered a burger well done and it came back medium rare oh I sent it back and when they brought it back it came still not well done I sent it back again and they forgot to put the cheese back on I was very upset at that point and I requested a manager and she said no she would take care of it I asked for the manager multiple times and she still said no she'll take care of it at that point I made them take the burger off my bill and I did not eat it. I was with a party of three when the bill came she messed up on the bill we tried to correct her and she tried to tell us what we had based on what the empty cups look like and we were trying to tell her which drinks we had and she literally was telling us know she knows what kind of drink that is based on how the cup looks we tried to tell her how are you going to tell us what we drink we know what we had and then she finally remembered what type of drink we had because of a funny saying she said when she came out and she apologized but she was legit trying to argue with us no one came over and apologized to us and honestly the vibe in there is weird they don't even have no type of background music. For the type of scenery they create it doesn't match the vibe and when you walk in it's kind of awkward and small we walked in and felt uncomfortable like if people were staring at us I know this review may see him all over the place but it's an honest review I really wanted to like it but it wasn't worth the hype that everyone was making it out to be. read more

Recently checked this new restaurant out and was blown away! There is absolutely nothing like it in our area. It felt like something out of New York City. Ordered a desperate housewife cocktail to start, and it was delicious. I decided on their lobster burger for dinner and it was cooked perfectly. The decor in this place is jaw dropping. There is so much detail in everything. The servers are in lab coats and scrubs, everything has a doctor/pharmacy vibe. Right down to getting your check in a pill bottle. The forethought into all of this and creating this vibe is really fucking cool. I'm not normally a person to write reviews but it broke my heart to see so many negative reviews on here for such an amazing place. I can say from my experience here it was a really nice night out. I came for the first time today. They had one waitress running around to every table.. (understaffed) Took a whole hour to get our drinks that tasted like there was no alcohol in them... for the food... My rice was stale and disgusting. Clearly old rice... it was something I couldn't even eat... you would think that the waitress would take it off the bill or maybe by a round of drinks for the table being it was clear that we weren't pleased. To be clear, the four stars are for the food and the service, which, if you really want to get down to it, are the most important elements (I'll address ambience in a moment). And the food here was great. We were there on a Sunday night, and everything was fresh and flavorful, from the tuna tartare- a unique recipe-to the scallops. The cocktails were good and strong, though, and I take responsibility for this, maybe too much of the fruit purees. There is a wood grill and if you love that flavor, it hits every mark, including a grilled Caesar salad which a perfect dressing. In addition, there were two cooks, one waitress, and one bartender (because it's Covid world, I can't even imagine the difficulties staffing) and everyone one of them was on the ball, not missing a beat as the place grew increasingly crowded. Our waitress, a young girl, had the skill of someone serving fine food for decades; she was wonderful. If you want one of the best meals in Orange County, visit this place. But...oh, the theme. To be clear, I graduated high school in 1984. I realize that many trends are beyond me, but this sort of felt like the place was going for that 80's vibe, with neon and graffiti and cocaine humor. Hard to say. SO: If I could change only one thing, it would be get rid of the jokey drug references. Two: change the logo in the front windows. Three: get the poor staff out of those scrubs. This is 2020 in Orange County, where we have high rates of addiction and overdose. Most people know someone with an addiction, or certainly in the case of younger residents, know someone who has died from an overdose. We've learned a lot since the days of "reality is for people who can't handle drugs" t-shirts, and most folks prefer expensive artisinal tequila to blow. So it feels jarring to celebrate/ make light of a significant problem, to say the least. Which speaks to the logo and overall theme: I love the idea of an apothecary, so many cool possibilities and it's referenced too briefly with the old medicinal bottles on the wall. The Ascelepius symbol is delightful, but in two big windows in white, it looks like a skateboard shop. Imagine the same thing but smaller, lower, and in old-timey gold leaf lettering. Just take it down a notch. And in the same vein, anything would be better that those scrubs. We're all loving up on our healthcare heroes these days, and it feels awkward to see someone playing dress-up in a distinctly not-sexy way. And also, blech. I mean, I see scrubs and I think Lysol and needles. If you need to be kitsch, how about a white shirt and suspenders (with no design on them please). I will be going back for the food, absolutely. I suspect if I avoid weekends it will be a mellow place for good cocktails and company, as well. I understand what the owners were going for in design and they're close. Themed restaurants are tricky, I get that. Mostly I hope they keep doing exactly what they're doing with food and service, and accept some constructive design criticism from people who want good local restaurants to succeed. read more

After operating Ninas, the bull room and Craft 47 for many years, this should have been a walk in the park... We made an 8:00 reservation. Walked in and there is absolutely no hostess so you stand there awkwardly until one of the two waiters notices you. Once seated, it took 15 minutes to take our drink order. After finally taking our drink order, it took 25 minutes to receive it. After taking excessive amount of time, waiter comments "I am just testing your patience for that." - pointing to my wife's stomach (who is pregnant). Clever joke..... My wife also asked for a mock tail, none on the menu and nothing could be created - how do you have no "placebo" drink as a mock tail? Failed opportunity right there to charge $7.00 for some Sprite and fancy herbs. Should've hired a better marketing person? 30 minutes after we sat down, the waiter takes our order. Ribeye, medium rare w/ chimmichuri and salmon. Should be extremely simple for Ninas replacement caliber, right? Wrong. Ribeye is 2 degrees off - medium well to well. I receive chive compound butter instead of chimmichuri. Salmon is completely petrified. Waiter asks how our food is. As I start to tell him what is wrong, he literally walks away in the middle of me speaking. Okay... Edit: what's funny is I see another diner wrote a review directly below this one who received a raw steak. Again, how can a chef from a Ninas caliber restaurant not know how to cook a ribeye to temp correctly? Franz, I really hope you see this review. Ninas was incredible. I am chalking this up to just opening, but you shouldn't have these difficulties after closing Ninas. You need to take criticism seriously in order to improve. Not just shrug people off and say "why don't you open a restaurant", like I have seen on Facebook... You should consider being present on Friday/Saturday nights, especially after just opening and during Covid... read more
