    Mexican, corn potato salad, coleslaw

Best BBQ in town! They have the best Mexican corn and the BBQ is the best in town!! And don't get us started on the banana pudding. Oh my word they make some good banana pudding.

    Chopped sandwich and potato salad.

My husband and I had lunch at Phat Phil's BBQ on a Wednesday. The building looks like a BBQ shed and it is. I am sure that as they are at this location it will become more restaurant like. You walk up and order from a menu. We didn't see any BBQ plates listed, just sandwiches. We both ordered the chopped sandwich. You then find a seat at a booth or at a picnic table and they bring your order out to you. My sandwich had a lot of meat! It had a nice smoke flavor, very moist, and some bark mixed in it. A few pieces of bark were a little too hard. On the table you have a choice of mild or spicy sauce. I used the mild. Nice sweet sauce with a little tang. For my side, I chose the potato salad. It was mustard based chunky. It was ok. We had two chopped sandwiches, two sides, one tea, one water for $17.88. I think it's worth a trip back.

If you like hole-in-the-wall type places then you'll love Phat Phil's. Order at the window & enjoy amazing barbecue on the covered patio. Huge portions, perfectly cooked. We didn't get to try the ribs (Saturday's only) but the brisket was delicious and the hubs loved the beans with jalapeños & cheese on top. They also have something every bbq place should have & that's a place to wash your hands after you eat. Super nice staff too. Y'all enjoy!

Small, upscale, night club vibe but not too swank where you felt out of place. Absolutely beautiful decor! The staff was extremely friendly and attentive. The food was cooked by their mother and you felt the love with each bite! We loved how we could sit and socialize for a couple of hours and not feel rushed. We waited on our food for about an hour but it was more than worth it and we enjoyed slowing down and catching up with friends. Something that's been lost these days. This place gets 5 stars for everything! Food specifics: The meatloaf was tender and delicious with a small amount of sweetness in the ketchup. The Oxtail was tender and savory. The chicken fried steak was absolute perfection. All the sides were delicious too. Fried okra cooked crisp and fresh. The greens had just the right amount of spice. But the Mac and Cheese was next level! We are amateur cooks and foodies so we have a lot to compare it to and Harlem Nights is top notch and is better than many of the upscale restaurants we've been to. That includes some Michelin Star restaurants!!

Literally everything we ate was incredible: the greens, fried okra, banana pudding, peach cobbler, chicken fried chicken, corn bread, and the chicken w/ waffles. All top notch! Run, don't walk, to Harlem Nights Scratch Kitchen next weekend; it'll be the best food you've eaten in a very long time!

It's definitely not the 5 star Drover Hotel Steak House at the Stockyards or anything like that however they had a better square meal than you could get for $40-50.00 anywhere else. The meatloaf was so good and the sides. Amazing to get strawberry shortcake at a buffet as a desert. I went there to eat 4 times out of 3 days. Great old school low prices as well. The waitresses have an excellent feel of the customers like no other. Very old fashion Southern food place if you're up to it. You know you're in the right place when you see a lot of retired people eating there. Ambience is basic and old fashion. An experience on its own and not to compare to a new school restaurant and building just straight old school and old fashion Texas. A lost Gem that's hard to find these days.

I cut and smelled my steak it smelled rancid. My friend cut a piece of hers and ate it. She spit it our in a napkin and said it tasted worse that it smelled. The cook had to know the meat was rancid. Someone could get deathly sick. This restaurant has so much potential. So sad they don't take pride in their food. Our waitress was lovely.
