We ordered takeout here due to the stellar reviews and left our dinner disappointed. We ordered a batch of food including: papaya salad, curry puffs, basil fried rice, pad see ew, massaman curry and mango sticky rice. The stars of the show were the curry puffs (light and spiced, almost like a samosa), the pad see ew (chewy, almost buttery and very savory) and the massaman curry with duck (how could you go wrong). Everything else in our order fell flat. The papaya salad was peanutty but bland. The fried rice, forgettable. But the mango sticky rice had almost a smoked meat taste(?) to it which left us truly baffled. Overall, if this is your go to, more power to you. But I personally believe there are better thai options out there on the island! read more

Ordered beef panang, shrimp pad thai and chicken house special fried rice. Also got a complimentary thai iced coffee. The pad thai was a lil sweet with big shrimps, the beef panang was a good amount and spicy and the fried rice was delicious. All the food complimented each other and they were all very appetizing. Only the beef panang leftover and I could have probably finished it but left it for the wife. Service was great and I like the inside because I like places that are bright and you can actually see your food the cleanliness of the restaurant. Overall A+ and will be back. read more

VERY slow service. Waited forever for drinks, food took even longer, still longer for the check. Several people working there, hardly anyone else there, it was getting late and after they delivered the bill never came back for the cc, and I had to walk it to the counter. Food was just ok. Phayathai is my favorite lunchtime restaurant. Their lunchtime menu is robust and inexpensive. I have been going here for a long while and prefer it to other Thai restaurants in the vicinity. The only reason I am giving it a 4 instead of a 5 is because of my personal taste. I do not like sugary sauces and I sometimes find their curry and basil, a bit sugary. I wish only fresh herbs were used in the cooking and no sugar. read more

We chose Phayathai to hosted our catered lunch for international women's day at GE Aerospace. I found this restaurant when I was looking for a local women-owned restaurant in the area in honor of international women's day. The catering manager, Heather, was very responsive to my inquiries and provided us all the info we needed right away. Their catering menu was perfect for serving large groups. They show how many people a tray and half tray are estimated to feed and we were looking to feed at least 30 people for our event. We ordered the spring rolls and beef satay appetizers. We ordered the chicken pad Thai and chicken house special fried rice. They were also very accommodating to some food allergies we had (seafood, shellfish) and they were able to accommodate by using a vegan sauce on two half trays for us as well of tofu pad thai and vegetable house fried rice. Sky, the owner, delivered all the food herself. They included plates, utensils, napkins, cups. Everyone raved about how good the food was. The spring rolls and pad thai were my favorites! We did have a lot of leftovers but the rest of the site enjoyed trying the food as well. Such a successful event thanks to Phayathai! read more

Definitely a hidden gem in the area. The first time I came I was surprised by how great the food was. The prices may seem kind of high but the portions are huge. We came again for dinner and it was pretty quiet, but really nice ambiance. They were very attentive and the service was excellent. - Thai iced tea: The Thai tea flavor was pretty strong and it was nice and creamy - Chicken satay: The chicken was so juicy and not dry at all! The dipping sauces were delicious as well. - Drunken noodle with duck: I've never had this combination before but it was sooo good. The drunken noodles weren't too oily and the duck was nice and crispy. - Basil soft shell crab: I love soft shell crab and this was fried to perfection. Nice and crispy without feeling like I was just eating breading. I loved all the veggies that came with it - Lemongrass beef: The dipping sauce is very unique and paired nicely with the lemongrass beef. Honestly this is probably the best Thai food I've had and I'm surprised it was right here in Ronkonkoma! My family was really surprised and this place definitely deserves more recognition. read more

Very disappointing...I thought based on all the good reviews this place would be excellent. Complete opposite. My daughter's Phayathai Chicken smelled great, however was completely tasteless. My Green Curry that I requested shrimp & chicken in had no shrimp and barely any veggies, it was also very watery, I had this same dish in other restaurants, the curry sauce is always much thicker and better flavored. I ordered sticky rice with it, they charged me double the price of regular white rice but gave me 1/3 the amount of rice. One of my son's ordered spring roll, they were bland and tasteless. My other son liked his noodle dish, however my kids ordered bubbled tea and fruit tea- but there was no bubbles in the bubble tea nor any fruit in the fruit tea. Very nice establishment. Surprised to see many tables open, despite coming in so late before they close on Sunday. The Shrimp Pad Si Eew was definitely enjoyable and instead of having the original flat wide noodles, I got it with the glass noodles. Everything was delicious. My girlfriend had the Shrimp Pad Thai and was amazing with the suggestion of one of the staff member to squeeze the lime onto it for a more authentic taste of Thailand how they eat it there. Another great suggestion she said was to add the mild spicy sauce to both our dishes and it made the dish even better. 1st time here and surely not the last. Our waiter was super chill, and nice. Was wanting some Tom Yum soup and had never been here but saw the good reviews so I decided to try it. Came in it wasn't busy so I walked right up to the counter to order. The restaurant was clean and looked nice so I will give them some compliments on that. The girl working the counter asked what I wanted and the first thing I said was Tom Yum followed by a discussion of which curry I should get with it. I decided on yellow curry with chicken so she rang my order up and I paid cash. This is where things start to go bad. I came back in about 15 mins to pick up my food and she didn't even remember me. She asked if I was door dash or a phone order. I told her no that I was just in and ordered she then proceeded to hand me a bag containing only yellow curry. I asked if the soup was in the bag and she asked me what soup. I told her I ordered Tom Yum as well and she proceeded to tell me no I didn't. I told her once again yes I did it was the first thing I ordered from you so she said well you weren't charged for it. I was then told I could wait another 10-15 for the soup if I wanted to pay for it but decided at that point it wasn't worth it. Went back and ate the yellow curry which was edible but definitely lacked flavor. If you've ever had really good Thai you know the flavor I'm talking about. Overall I'm not impressed especially after the issue I had but once again it was clean so at least I feel safe eating the food. read more

Whenever I'm coming back from the train station after conducting research, I stop here since it's extremely close. It's the best Thai food I have had since I relocated to Long Island last year. It's never busy when I come, so it's calm and quiet. Plus the waiter is so kind as well. It had a sweet chili sauce with peanuts for dipping. Although small, it was tasty. It came with 5 wontons. My boyfriend had pad woonsen with beef for his entree. He said it was good. I had sautéed chicken with string bean sauce for my entree. It was spicy, but I enjoy heat. The dish was very tasty. I don't feel there was a lot of chicken though.
