If you're craving sushi you need to check out Mito Modern Japanese in Lake Grove at Smithhaven Mall! The options are endless. Plenty to go around. Delicious drinks. Their Pre-Fix Brunch Menu is a steal at $29--a four-course meal and a drink? Yes, please! Brunch runs Saturday and Sunday, 11AM-4PM. The vibe is Chic, cozy, and welcoming with incredible staff.

After a not so good delivery experience with wrong food that couldn't be enjoyed and barely consumed I spoke with Alvin who deeply apologized and invited me back for a meal. I had a late lunch/early dinner today. I started with a Kani salad. It was good and had a good balance of everything. I just wish there wasn't any chopped pieces of lettuce in it. Seemed like a filler. I got the two sushi rolls I wanted originally; Joker and Mango Hawaii. I got them both with multigrain rice. I also got the Mango Hawaii without the crunch. Both rolls were very good and fresh. Each had it's own unique flavor. Service was delightful. My waitress was a doll. I don't recall her name. I had to take off a star due to an unwanted dinner guest..there was a gnat that kept flying around my table throughout the entirety of my meal. All flavors were on point though. I would return again! No delivery though! Thank you Alvin for making things right!

I went on November 11th. I had Mito on my radar for a while. You know when a restaurant becomes your little fantasy boo? That was Mito. I wanted to go to the Babylon location for my birthday -- the menu looked cute, small hot and cold plates, very "I'm sophisticated, but still hungry." Then boom -- they shut down. Ghetto. So then I considered the Lake Grove location for my birthday, but my intuition tapped me on the shoulder like, "Babsy... no. Go somewhere else before you get upset." And like a wise woman, I listened. Fast-forward: my work bestie wants to hang out. I'm thinking, "Let's give Mito ONE chance. Happy hour might redeem themselves. HAPPY HOUR SAID "ABSOLUTELY NOT." For a restaurant at the mall at happy hour. Sure wasn't popping. Fords Garage, Cheesecake Factory, Ruth Chris. Hell even Kura Sushi was popping. 1st red flag Lake Grove only has the hot small plates menu. No cold ones. Just vibes and disappointment. But fine, we tried to stay positive. The drinks: Listen. Asian restaurants are usually heavy-handed with the liquor -- like "sip this and forget your middle name." But this? THIS tasted like someone wrung out a car battery acid over ice. I'm supposed to enjoy my first sip, not recoil like I licked a Duracell. The apps: We ordered the dim sum tasting. On the website, the picture clearly shows a tasting for TWO. We received a tasting for ONE... and got charged for the two-person version anyway. I let it slide because I'm too old to be arguing with hostesses. but please... false advertising much? Me and my bestie were sitting there sharing that sad little plate like two Victorian orphans. Unfortunately because of the audacity. I forgot to take a picture. Then we tried the spicy Korean beef jerky. Baby... that was country fried steak strips with a shy, timid little aioli that was NOT spicy and barely present. Again -- not what the website promised, but okay. I still ate it because I was hungry. Rock shrimp tempura? Fine. No complaints. A rare bright moment in a sea of culinary lies. Wagyu beef egg rolls? Looked NOTHING like the photo. Not even relatives. But they were... okay-ish. Then came the black truffle fried rice. Zero seasoning. I don't even think the salt made eye contact with that dish. The truffle must've called out sick. I had to put soy sauce on the rice for a tad bit of flavor. Very disappointing. The crab cheese wontons: Almost forgot these little disappointments. I have had WAY better crab cheese wontons from hood Chinese spots -- the ones where you gotta step over two crackheads, a pitbull, and a questionable puddle just to pick up your order. And you know what? I would GLADLY fight through that obstacle course before I ever order Mito's wontons again. And I grew up in the damn hood. Smfh! Overall? Cute idea, tragic execution. I will not be returning -- my intuition warned me, and I should've listened the 1st time.

Food was good, and Zhen was the best waiter ever. She gave us great recommendations, and helped us every step of the way. I don't think I'll ever forget her. Thank you for taking care of us.

Great ambience. Lovely restaurant. Fine dining style. Nice service. But the food is not to my taste. Nothing special. I had the Mongolian dish with chicken and my guest had the Thai basil shrimp. The chicken tasted off. I hardly ate half and didn't take it home. I didn't see or taste any basil and I love basil. The shrimp dish was just ok. Nothing special. Nice fried banana dessert though. Nice green tea served in a nice white teapot. Great waitress.

Tried the one in lake grove. Looks nice. Used to be PF chang's but revamped. Nice ambiance. Service is good. Asked for an off the menu and they did it. A little pricey though.

Great happy hour deals! Food was great and the service too. The only downside was that they didn't have real tv at the bar. They had tv screens, but one tv was on repeat on sample foods and the other had football on but the type where you see X's and O's. I ordered a margarita and spring rolls. The spring rolls were hot and delicious. Hubby tried the dim sum tasting and it was very much enjoyed. We went with rolls to finish off the night.

I like the food and it has a great deal, but I found bones in 3 of my rolls. Disappointed.

I don't like leaving bad reviews but I don't want to be untruthful. The restaurant was spacious and beautiful but almost empty at 6pm on a Friday. Mongolian Beef and sushi were mediocre at best. We sent back a spicy tuna roll because of a very odd taste. (And we eat a lot of sushi) They did apologize and take it off the bill. The restrooms were not so clean and didn't have a hanger for my purse. We probably won't be going back.

We really enjoyed this place! We has the sale with a flavorful balsamic dressing, dim sum shrimp, general Tso chicken, chicken fried rice and sushi. Everything was delicious and fairly priced. I loved the fact that they had a yummy malbec from Argentina on the menu! The only item I will pass on is the chocolate cake and ice cream. It just wasn't as good as the other items. However, I cannot wait to return. The restaurant is decorated beautifully and the staff were friendly and attentive.

Considering its located in a mall, its a very lovely dining experience! Inside is immaculately designed. Well lit with a modern vibe throughout. Take a look up and you'll see intricate mesh figures on the ceilings. I came here with a few friends on a Sunday night, and was seated fairly quickly. I ordered a plum wine to drink and for my entree: the Joker roll with a piece of King Salmon and Octopus. The Joker Roll was quite nice. Definitely had a kick to it. The King Salmon and Octopus were pretty good. I ended the night with the macarons plate and was left a bit disappointed. The macarons had a slight minty aftertaste, which was odd considering none of the flavors described were mint... But overall, I think this place is worth at least one visit. Is it going to be the best sushi you have ever tasted? Probably not. But its a wonderful place to catch up with some friends in an elevated atmosphere!

Beautiful vibes at the luxury bar

Zhen was extremely professional, kind, and welcoming. The food was great as always and Mito is such a perfect vibe. Thank you again for a wonderful experience!

Since my roommate does not speak Chinese, we communicated entirely in English throughout the visit, and the staff at the front counter also spoke to us in English. I have been to this restaurant many times before and have usually left an 18% tip. This was my roommate's first visit. After we finished our meal, my roommate paid the bill but did not add a tip. After noticing that no tip had been left, the staff member at the front counter came directly to our table and asked my roommate, "Cash tips?" My roommate seemed surprised and responded, "No."This interaction already made us feel very uncomfortable and pressured. In addition, both my roommate and I felt that the service had not been particularly good. After that, the staff member shouted toward the kitchen in Chinese: "These two are freeloading! They didn't leave a tip!" Since my roommate does not understand Chinese, he did not know what was being said. However, I understood the comment and found it highly inappropriate, unprofessional, and disrespectful toward customers.

When we walked in, the restaurant felt run-down and it was freezing inside. It was so cold that my entire family kept our winter jackets on the whole meal ,I even had to keep my hood up. We noticed other diners were also wearing their coats, which says a lot. I repeatedly had to ask for hot tea just to stay warm. Service was also lacking. The waiter was inattentive, and despite the restaurant not being busy, no one came by to check on us or ask how the food was. As for the food: * The soup dumplings had almost no soup inside, and the dough was thick and heavy. * The egg and tomato soup was completely bland and had almost no flavor. One thing that may explain the high number of reviews: there's a QR code on the wall offering free bubble tea in exchange for leaving a review. That definitely makes the rating feel inflated. Honestly, if this restaurant were located in Flushing, it probably wouldn't last long given the level of competition and food quality standards there. Unfortunately, I can't recommend Red Tiger based on our visit
