a variety of food items in a buffet
Christina F.

Nearing closing, they unfortunately but understandably ran out of sinigang. We ordered a side of chicken and 2 combos which included steam rice, pancit, mongo, soup, yellow chicken curry, and afritada. Common service with pleasantries via cafeteria-style ordering. Note, there's a new bakery, also inside Island Pacific.

Food is good but not sure what the extra $1 charge is for? I got the 2 item combo plate with the pork sisgi and chicken curry. The pork sisgi was sitting outside of he warmers underneath the banana leaf so it was a bit cold and the chicken curry was lukewarm. Would I come back again, maybe. They speak Tagalog so if you don't, expect a longer wait and smaller portion because they definitely cater to the own.

Pork & Chicken BBQ Sticks, fresh bok choy and Napa greens, crispy bituka and smelt w/ house vinegar sauce.

Everything is freshly cooked right before lunch hour so that's the best time to go. End of day looks so sad barely filled and looking lifeless so my rating would be lower at that time of day also so GO EARLY! I was just sad that the dessert turon is never made early. So that is prepared right at lunch hour NOON! If it's Smoky inside from the grilled meats and fish that means it's being freshly cooked by the hustle and bustle of Filipino employees that are ready to serve to the lunch hour frenzy of hungry customers. The bbq sticks are really big so one is sufficient for one person. I enjoy the fried chicharron intestine, smelt and chicken skin served with their house vinegar sauce. I usually get the basic pancit, pork adobo and beef kaldereta but I'll be back to try the grilled stuffed squid and hopefully an order of that fried banana Turon dessert!

Place is very dirty. Flies everywhere and the cook wears tank top and touches his face, shoulders and who knows where else. Food's good otherwise

Two combo#3

First time experience. The restaurant was located inside the super market right off the entrance. Service was decent: 3/5 Atmosphere is fair: 3/5 Food: 4/5 Overall a 3.3/5.0, and a good experience with an interesting taste. I recommend people to look at the menu ahead of time before waiting in line to order. The restaurant gives a Philippine Panda Express or fast-food serving vibe. The serving was good (not too little, extra for take home if desired) and a fair amount of food as we ordered two combo#3 plates. We agree with the highly recommended chicken adobo side item.

Peanut beef, bean sprouts and tofu, chicken adobo

The portions are plentiful. The beef in peanut sauce was good. The spring rolls were good with the sauce. They were out of noodles which is half the reason we came here. The tofu/red pepper, and bean sprouts dish was not bad but we didn't really like it either. The chicken adobo was very good. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Good value.

For some reason, I been craving Filipino food these days! I was already in the grocery store (Island Pacific) and this little food court was inside. I didn't know what to order at first cus it was a bunch of dishes I didn't know of. I only kno the usual pancit, adobo and lumpia. The young man behind the counter was a HUGE help! We went down the line (luckily it wasn't busy) and I asked him what was what. I wanted to know what kind of protein and if the dish was on the sweeter side cus I didn't really like sweet savory dishes that much. I preferred spicy savory or even a lil sour. I ended up with the two item combo. I did pancit as the base. And I decided on chicken pastel & bisco express (something like that). I was gonna get a third item cus my son likes squid and they had grilled squid. But once I got back to the squid I seen a fly hovering over that station. And there was foil there tryna cover up the food but it didn't work cus once I pointed and was like I want that squid, the fuckin fly decided to land on it!! And now I'm thinkin nope nvm cus idk if it been landed on it earlier and hatched eggs, I dont fuckin know!! But I wasn't gonna grab shit that had a fly land on it. So we both got stuck and looked at each other and he said sorry and shoo'd it away! I told him nvm on that. I really think they should have covers for all the food and if not, at least have fans or something to keep flies away. I get that flies be coming in the stores or whatever but I'm sure there are ways to prevent it like how other stores have. I just hope a fly never landed on any of the food I already picked and paid for. Took it to go, tried both dishes and they were both good. A little on the oily side but the meats were nice and tender. The pancit wasn't the best I had. I ended up reheating and remarinating it cus it lacked flavor. I don't think I'll be back for the other dishes. But I continue to go to the grocery store that it's located in.

Located inside Island Pacific Seafood Market is Philhouse. They served hot food your option to eat it there or have it take out service. I ordered the combo #3 which comes with choices of meat, rice or pancit. I also got the Turon which is so sweet and delicious for dessert. The market place and the restaurant was clean with visible signs all around placed perfectly. I highly suggest you make a visit to Philhouse on N First Street for your Filipino cuisine. I catered here for my daughters 1st Birthday. I ordered in person about 2.5weeks before her event. I ordered the salo-salo package which comes with 5 trays and you can choose from a variety of dishes each with a different type of protein (Beef, chicken, veggie, pork and pancit or lumpia Shanghai). The order: Beef Stiek Chicken afritada Pinakbet (veggie) Pork adobo 100pc of lumpia shanghai I would have to say everything was delicious. The veggies and meat and the flavors were so good. Only complaint was the chicken afritada had little bits of bones through the dish which made it a little difficult to throughly enjoy without having to stop in the middle of eating and the adobo was a bit on the sweet side. The lady that took my order was really nice and she gave me clear instructions and gave me the option to pay at the time I ordered or during pick up. I had my dad pick up the food the day of and he didn't have any issues. When I saw the trays they looked small but it was packed. There was so much food left over even after we had our guests pack food to-go. Overall I had a great experience. I will definitely be ordering from them again when I host another party.

My lunch with lots of leftovers!

So many greasy foods here if you like fried foods. And I think the price is kind of pricey. Once for a while is ok .

I think they need to be more considerate of future customers who will visit anytime throughout the day of their open hours and just have something presentable. The only thing I got to try was their halo halo , which the kind lady had explained to me that they make their Ube sauce, homemade straight from their kitchen. I was excited enough for that part, but after tasting their obey, I wasn't quite thrown away by it. Also, I just want to know that their Ube bread that was available. There was only like two trays left for sale and I was just not very stoked out to even make a purchase because everything was so empty and so I just kind of didn't even bother to make a purchase, but my aunt did pick up one tray and so I was kinda able to taste that pastry item and if I have to be honest, I believe I've had it before but anyways if I'm in the mood for any Ube bread, I would just purchase it at my local Asian market.

Naynay's lumpia were nice and crispy but just didn't have that delicious flavor I remember. The sweet chili sauce was good and it helped with the so-so flavor. Where I was really disappointed was the pancit. Yucky. :( It didn't have the right vegetables and waaay too much cilantro on top. I tried putting the soy sauce mixture on top but that didn't even help. The worst part was that we waited a really long time for our food. Numbers were called out of order and other people waiting for their food were looking around to see if others were waiting too. My husband ordered first at Naynay's and then went over to another truck to order Korean tacos. The tacos were ready super fast and we were trying to eat all the food together but while waiting for Naynay's the tacos started getting cold so we ended up eating them and even then we still waited quite a while before our food from Naynay's was done. Overall, just not a good experience with Naynay's, which is sad because they're the whole reason I wanted to go check out the food truck night.
