Chicken Curry sisig
Maria Y.

Presyong Sulit ! For a busy working Mother - this is the deal of the day ! I was able to feed myself for lunch and the entire family of 4 for dinner - . Food taste like homemade without the hassle Of washing dishes. Sisig is my all time favorite! The chicken curry is so good. The place is clean and the staff has provided an excellent customer service as always! Wednesdays BOGO are the best !!

Beef Entree

My family and I were shopping at Island Pacific Seafood Market, so when we finished buying groceries we decided to order dinner to go from PhilHouse. It's a food court style restaurant, so there's the option of dining in. There's a large selection of entrees that consist of pork, chicken, beef, or fish. I ordered the beef caldereta. Although I will always prefer the way my dad cooks it, this one usually doesn't miss wherever I go. Unfortunately, I can't really say that this time was great. The beef wasn't too tough, but it wasn't too tender neither. It was also pretty fatty, and the sauce was really salty. I liked that the vegetables were soft though. It's a convenient spot to eat after running errands at the supermarket since it's located in-store, but that's about all I can say.

Chicken bbq

I love Filipino food! I came back here after living out of the Santa Clarita Valley for over 10 years, and this seems new to me....I was excited to see there was an Island Pacific (finally) in the SCV! I have come here before, and ate at another restaurant inside IP so this time I wanted to try the PhilHouse, since it had more dishes to chose from, and I can get a combo price! The service was outstanding, I very much like the generous portions and the attitudes of the servers behind the bar. I ordered the Combo #2, and had the Pinakbet, the chicken bbq with the white rice and pancit sides. The food was good, but not very good. I think if there was beef skewers, it may be better. The skewer size is enormous, but I wasn't crazy about the taste. The Pinakbet seemed to be lacking flavor as well. I'm sure there are other dishes like the caldereta and sinigang that will excite my appetite, so I will come back. I will say, I like coming here. Island Pacific has a beautiful array of fruits and veggies, a bakery, and everything you need to make our cultural dishes. There are other restaurants that I look forward to trying, and a nice food court to relax. For that alone, this place does deserve its 4-stars!!!

The $10.99 breakfast combo without an egg which was the same pricing as before with the egg. Please explain.

Came today 3-16-25 for their breakfast combo. I was told that the combo does not include 1 egg anymore because how of costly the eggs are. I can understand that but when I asked if the price has gone down since there's no more egg included, she said NO. The price is still the same as before $10.99. Now, does that make sense??? That is highway robbery. Can someone explain to me why this was the case? If you remove an item, be fair as well of the pricing. Hope your corporate reads this!

Left: Longonisa, Tocino, Fried egg, and garlic rice Right: other longonisa (there were 2 kinds), corned beef, and garlic rice.

Omg the food here is so good. I come for breakfast every single Wednesday because they have BOGO Filipino breakfast combos for $12. So $12 will get you TWO very delicious Filipino breakfasts. The service is great, and the vibe is very comfortable. Thank you guys!

Today, I finally decided to visit the restaurant in person and placed my order for pickup. Located in a Filipino neighborhood, parking can be a bit hit-or-miss depending on the time of day. The restaurant itself was busy, which is always a good sign. One thing to be aware of: you'll probably leave smelling like you've been cooking Filipino food all day. The ventilation could definitely use some improvement. Now for the food--the special lomi is top-notch. The broth is rich and flavorful, and it's loaded with toppings. It's easily one of the better lomis I've had in the area. The arroz caldo is also among the best I've tried in the Valley--comforting, hearty, and packed with flavor. Overall, this is a great spot when you're craving Filipino comfort food. Generous portions, delicious flavors, and reasonably priced. I'll definitely keep ordering, whether it's through Uber Eats or in person.

I had just finished a short hike at Wilbur Tampa Park Trailhead and had built up a solid appetite. I noticed this place on the drive up and made a mental note to try it--and post-hike felt like the perfect time. Kusina Ni Kuya is located right next to Cajun Ni Kuya, and they share the same dining area. The Kusina Ni Kuya side is more of a traditional Filipino *turo-turo* (point-point) setup, where you choose your dishes cafeteria-style. I went with the **beef sinigang**. I was initially planning to order two entrees, but after seeing the generous portion they served, I decided one was plenty. While eating, I noticed trays of Cajun-style seafood boils coming out to nearby tables--interesting to see, even if it's not really my thing. As for the food, the sinigang delivered. The broth had a nice, balanced tang--sour but not overpowering--and it really hit the spot after the hike. Simple, comforting, and satisfying. **Why 4 stars?** Very solid food and portions, but not quite a standout experience that pushes it into that must-go, 5-star category. **Overall:** A reliable spot for Filipino comfort food--especially if you're coming down from a hike and want something warm and filling.

Or making a dish with it? all while laughing. It makes absolutely no sense. Why did he need to ask that? Why did he need to keep laughing? It is one thing to be friendly, and another to do that. Also it does not matter what it's for, but why did he feel compelled to make those comments? I of course said thank you and stayed kind because that's who I am but after I felt completely attacked. Now onto the food, lumpia was actually delicious. So hopia was not my thing, but definitely some of the best lumpia I've had. It just can't change my experience so unfortunately I will not be back. Thank you. This is based off of the hopia dessert which I tried the one other time I went into this restaurant (was horrid), and my experience today. I will update this once I actually taste the lumpia. I was just so shocked by this employee that I couldn't wait to post a review. Now I don't know his name, but the guy working the front end seemed friendly...until I asked for the larger or largest sweet and sour. I was on hold on a phone call at the same time because I was on a work lunch, and quickly popped in here to grab something, so my mind was fuzzy. Rather than say the 2oz size which may not be the size I wanted, I said largest or biggest side sweet and sour. The guy laughed and held his hands up to make a motion like widening them and said biggest? I said yes the bigger one towards the end. Shook his head and laughed again. Now I don't know what other reason this was funny other than my size maybe? I'm heavier so maybe that was funny to him. It was just rude and honestly weird. I stayed sitting on hold and waited for my order, and once it was ready he just had to ask "is this just for you or is your family making something with it?" I was shocked (still sitting on hold too) and said my family loves sweet and sour so why not and he said "ok I just had to ask" while laughing. Really? You just had to? Did I order a gallon of sauce? Did I ask for something you don't openly sell to customers all day long? I can't possibly think of anything else other than it being so funny, and me being judged because of my weight. So I will never step foot in here again. The hopia is not good anyway which is why it's been over a year since I've gone there. It was flavorless, dry, just disgusting. Apparently aside from the food being horrible quality, you will also be shamed and laughed at. Repulsive behavior and unacceptable. Second and last time trying to give this place a shot. Not worth it. The sauce isn't even filled hahah
