The staff here were very kind and helpful, which made the experience pleasant from the start. The food, however, was just okay overall. The tortang talong was a bit disappointing since it barely had any egg, and the lumpia wasn't crispy--it was soft. It might be good for kids or those who prefer a softer texture, but I personally would have liked it more crunchy. One thing I also noticed was the lack of traditional condiments. They didn't have fish sauce or Filipino ketchup, just packaged American ketchup and hot sauce, which took away a bit from the authenticity. On a positive note, the adobong kambing was really tasty and definitely the highlight of the meal. I feel sorry for Doordashers because of the inefficiencies of this place. I place an order at 2:30pm for a future pick-up time of 5:30pm the same day. I do this quite often with DoorDash on other services & restaurants. The order was delayed for 1 hour for an order of Crispy Pata. Filipino fast food - that's what you'll find here. Came to try their breakfast- two for one on Mondays - which is a pretty good deal. You order at the counter and they do speak English if you are unfamiliar with Filipino food. Two eggs, two scoops of rice (your choice of garlic or plain) and your choice of protein. We tried both the fish and the pork tosino. The fish was okay, a bit dried out as was the tosino. The seating area has plenty of tables for both singles and larger groups. The place is very clean and the food is okay for a quick, hot breakfast. Not my favorite and probably will try something different if we come back. read more

The food looks beautiful here, the people are nice but the flavor of my food wasn't beautiful or nice. It was kind of barfy tbh. I love Filipino food, especially pinakbet so I was happy when my husband bought me some. Sadly it tasted spoiled so I chucked it. He bought pancit and thought it was okay but it tasted off to me too. The fried chicken skin and halohalos were fire though. Highly recommend those two items. 2 stars because the pinakbet seriously tasted old & rotten. The eating area was clean, and like I said, food is pretty but I didn't like it. (Philhouse in Island Pacific Market is a thousand times better imho.) Since we do not have one in town, we decided to pass by here on our way home. Past lunch time, their Grill City was not too busy even though it was a Sunday. When we got there, we were told that their meals were buy 1 get 1 so I got a barbecue meal for my daughter and half order of fried fish for my mom and saw that each order had two cups of rice which was way more than enough! So, I just got an additional order of grilled squid for myself. My mom wanted halo halo too and as I was paying, they told me that the halo halo was buy 1 get 1, too! So we had all the good stuff plus a lot for leftovers, all for under $40. That is definitely good value for our money! Hopefully, they'll have a branch in town soon. Took some coworkers here for lunch as they wanted to try some Filipino food. Happy to see that the Filipino community has grown in Santa Clarita over the years. We got some bbq pork, Nilaga, Chicken Adobo, and Kare Kare. I felt the bbq pork had shrunk a bit but that may be due to their December special of buy one entree get one free. Though BBQ was good as always I also thought it was frustrating that many entrees to choose from were $2 additional. I understand this for the Kare Kare due to the oxtail but not majority of the items should be a surcharge. The Nilaga was not that great in my opinion. It was Pork Nilaga but it tasted like fish. The chicken adobo was also good but the chicken was a bit dry. The Kare Kare was good though they forgot to provide some Bagoong for it. The winner of our meal was their Turon. The Turon was honestly the best Turon I have ever had. It was not too small and had the right amount of crunch, banana, and jackfruit to each bite. For now, this Seafood City Supermarket eatery is off of our to try list. We love Filipino cuisine; surrounded on both sides of our home with outstanding Filipino neighbors. Enjoying fantastic dishes from baby showers and birthdays we've been offered. Plus the numerous Filipino classmates our sons had while attending school in Glendale. That meant invitations to enjoy a veritable smorgasbord of delicious dishes from these welcoming and generous hosts. So we're fans. But this grill offers so much of what we don't partake of; pork and shellfish. And though yes, they do offer dishes that include beef and chicken, the cuisine staple of pancit is only offered with shrimp included; really Grill City? But that didn't even dissuade us. They do offer rice. The killing point was observed by my wife, just this past Friday, of a server using the same tongs for pork to grab the chicken someone was ordering. A Restaurant 101 no no! So rather than ordering, my wife had a change of heart and left. Dietary restrictions may be of no concern to many, but for those that do have dietary and religious convictions quite a serious matter. Maybe Grill City will make a few changes in the near future to better cater to others, but until then they're a no for us. read more

I am proud and glad that a Grill City has finally come to Santa Clarita! Honestly what I can say is that if you don't prefer to eat in crowded places, definitely take your food to go. They make it very easy with different kinds of bags, boxes, and packaging depending on what you get. Since it is located inside of the Seafood City market, it is LOUD, crowded, and overall, if I'm being honest, not fine dining at all. Don't get me wrong, they have a seating area if you absolutely need to sit and eat, but it is jam packed and close together. Be ready to squeeze through other people trying to eat their food too! They have a lot of different Filipino dishes to try. It is a long line but they move productively and it moves fast. The workers are as nice and a try to serve you as best as they can, so be mindful that it is a loud environment and there may be some communication issues along the way. Make sure you point and be direct with what you want because the dishes are located really close together in their trays! I will definitely be coming back since my parents shop here for our Filipino food ingredients. Will definitely be taking some more food to go in the future! read more

This is an updated review. Food was good tasting, for a lunch combo. I got pork adobo and beefsteak with onions as viands. Typical fatty meats, swimming in oil and melted animal fat. That's what makes them taste good. Delicious? Absolutely! Healthy? Hell no! My tip is trim as much far as you can and don't eat. You'll be saving your heart. Just too much fat. I]The BOGO is amazing and all my friends love going to Grill City. It's best to get there before the lunch rush to get the fresh grilled skewers and lumpia. My kids love the desert selection. Always buy a drinks from the store as the water at seafood city is almost the cost of just buying a pack of water. This review is for only the Grill City cafeteria style eatery. You stand in line, point to what you want, someone will ladle it for you on a plate or to go container. Breakfast ends promptly at 10am. I was here early and ordered 2 breakfast combos. It's choice of one meat entree, 2 somewhat poached/fried eggs, and 2 scoops of Filipino garlic fried rice. I had Filipino sausage on one, beef tapa (like a marinated beef jerky, but not that hard) on the other. Sausage was delicious and had a mild sweet flavor. Rice and eggs were better than normal. The tapa, on the other hand, was bland, AND the cashier did not offer to give me spiced vinegar or fish sauce to go with it. Fail #1. NO Filipino style ketchup to accompany this supposed genuine Filipino breakfast. Fail #2. Tough fatty meat used in tapa. They need to eschew, or, to remove tough gristly portions to what they serve. Really, it was tough, and unworthy to have people eat. Fail #3. Lack of napkins, condiments, water stations, Fail #4. Really people, make it good for visitors to enjoy - you at Grill City are ambassadors to Filipino culture! Don't be cheap, chinsey, thrifty for all the wrong reasons. Managers should also do MBWA: management by walking around. Tell your non-Filipino guests what they are experiencing, with an insight to the culture. Nice stop before or after shopping for groceries, or if just craving Filipino foods! My boyfriend and I gotten two trays of Pompano fish with sides of Laing and Kaldereta. The auntie who was prepping the trays let us choose which fish we wanted which was nice! The Laing complimented the fish so well and the Kaldereta as a side dish was exciting to have as well. We also got the baby crabs with vinegar and Calimansi juice. The baby crabs definitely give your jaw a workout, very nice and crispy. This would be the first time I had calimansi juice and it was soooo delicious! Definitely very sweet, but I have a sweet tooth :) I did wish there were napkins though as they had ran out. read more

Love the proximity of the place and the wide variety filipino food options. However, my biggest gripe would have to be the not so generous portions of their value meals compared to island pacific. The servers seem like they get marching orders from the higher ups to not give you adequate portion of food in your box. Furthermore, you cant request for a better looking chicken or pork of your choice without the server getting mad at you. Im glad Im on ashwagandah and kept calm lol . I give it 2 stars for several reasons: 1) Your food a la carte is very expensive. I got a medium dinuguan. $10+ All I got was a bunch of fat! I hardly got any meat in this dish. 1 liempo again is very expensive. I can just buy the meat for these dishes and make it myself and get more for my money. 2) Ginataan- did you forget to add the coconut milk? The flavor was tasteless. Maybe the day I went was a bad day, but for the money I pay, I'm afraid to try again and waste my money. I prefer Island Pacific food rather than this place.
