I have been getting my hair done by a friend who's a professional hair dresser for most of my adult life. This Christmas I was too busy to remember to make an appointment w/ her, and by the time I remembered it was too late-she was booked solid. I was nervous making an appointment somewhere else, but I was so so happy with the results at Philip DePalma, Franklin. The color and texture of my hair has never come out so natural and soft- partially due to the products they us, and partially due to the expertise of their stylists. My cut was also great & she gave me lots of helpful tips on how to add body to my hair. Overall, I was very happy and would go back in a heartbeat. Phillip DePalma Salon in Framingham is a very good salon. I have been going there for 2-years. I have been getting my hair styled by Bev Woodhouse and she is great. Very friendly, listens to your styling needs and provided professional feedback and excellent results. For example, I am a male in my 50's and I wanted to change my hair from dark to white. Not a normal request. Bev listened to me checked with other stylists and they came up with a plan that would get me from dark hair to white over a couple visits. I am very pleased with the results. The other stylists Pam and Beth are excellent too. Ashley at the front desk is very detail oriented and gets the appointment confirmations right back to you when you call into to check on availability on short notice. I have hair. Like many people's, it grows, and requires frequent cutting. While I may be only be a male, I still like it done right and in a certain way. I've been coming here for some time to get my hair cut, and have had nothing but good experiences. Hair has always come out looking great, and just he way I want. Never any coloring done here, but what I've seen them do looked great. While the outside might look a little sketch, inside is quite updated and clean. Parking is non-existant; while there are a few spots out front, I typically par k in the bank across the street (just don't get caught). Staff is very friendly, and prices don't break the bank (~$30 for mens cut). Scheduling tends to be super flexiable, which is one of the things I love the most about going here. I often call up the day I want to go in and can get an appointment within the next hour or two with someone I know. I believe there is a spa downstairs, although I've never inquired about it. Nice little selection of hair products, although you may be better off going to a larger store. read more

This salon is amazing. Very reasonable prices. I go to Kim who always listens to what I want and I listen to what she thinks would be best for my hair. She has brought my hair back to life, it was badly cut and burnt from a previous salon I went to. She knew I did not want to chop my hair and over a few visits brought back my shine and has gotten the cut down to beside. 5 stars for Kim!! She is definitely the one you wanna see for all your blonde needs!!! She is a GENIUS!! The only hair stylist that can lighten my hair and have it feel HEALTHIER than it did when I came in. She knows exactly what she's doing. Her color, cuts, styling, all the way down to her shampooing is on point. There's not a single thing I can complain about when it comes to her. Not a fan of the Framingham location. I'm sure there are some good stylists there, but overall I do not recommend to this Salon. The dacor is all right, but the whole place needs a makeover, including the staff most of all! They are very unprofessional, and far too casual. They are also unprofessional with their conversations and joking around when clients are there. And I do not recommend this salon for manicures! I will not be going back to this salon. There are far too many nicer onces in the area. read more

My hair dyeing experience was a disaster here. I showed the hair stylist Kendra a specific photo of the types of highlights I wanted and even said the colors I wanted but I just got streaks of a bright blonde color in my very dark hair, it was such a stark contrast, my hair looked like a blonde zebra. I went back the next day to get it fixed once more showing her the specific color I wanted again and again the color was way off once more; I wanted some nice golden caramel brown type highlights but the second time I got brassy highlights. Kendra simply could not follow instructions or understand my needs. I had to go to a second salon, subjecting my hair to more bleach and color dye for the third day in a row because I couldn't walk around with that disaster on my head. I'll never come here again and I suggest anyone else doesn't either; especially stay away from Kendra who will barely talk to you and listen to your needs. I tried telling her what I wanted and she just said okay real quick assuming she understood but clearly not. I want my money back, total waste of my money down the drain. Update- even after contacting them and telling them about this situation they weren't able to do anything for me because I went to another salon. As if I would have gone back to them for any more work on my hair after I lost my trust in them. What kind of logic? read more

I have been to Phillip DePalma several times and find my hairdresser very qualified. She is friendly and she gives me a great haircut.

I generally have color and cut closer to the city, but - tired of the drive back, after moving west - I investigated Phillip DePalma online, simply because an acquaintance recommended them. I chose their Medfield location. I wanted someone talented, local and reliable, who would actually listen to what I needed/wanted. Kendra (I believe her last name is O'Rourke) did a very nice job for me. I especially liked the color treatment; the cut was fine. I also really appreciated her quiet but pleasant personality - a good match for me, though we were paired utterly by chance. (Not everyone enjoys constant banter, if you know what I mean. The salon itself is plenty lively, anyway!) The salon environment is very simple, but clean and efficient. I don't care much about a fancy salon environment. (They may offer services I don't know about, as there is a downstairs. But it's not a Newbury salon or even a Keldara, for example.) Prices are average, I think, for a high-end suburban salon (not entirely sure). I was able to find a parking spot right out front - always a relief! I will go back, and I will request Kendra. read more

My partner and I had our wedding last weekend and the wonderful girls at Phillip DePalma Salon in Medfield did our hair and makeup and four other members of our families who were in the wedding. Their salon was extremely accomodating (even coming in ealry to make sure we got to our wedding ceremony on time as it was an 11:30AM ceremony). She was very friendly right from the start. I loved the finished results!!!!! She was very attentive as to what I wanted to achieve with my hair. She was an excellent stylist. I've been coming to this salon for 10 years and wouldn't think of going anywhere else. The staff is friendly and courteous, the hours are convenient and the prices are very reasonable. Sotheavy is a wonderful stylist. She is professional, knowledgeable and has always found the perfect color and style for my hair. She always suggest great products for my hair, but never pressures me to buy them. I also love the fact that I can call and get an appointment in the same week! I even bring my two daughters to get their hair cut here because they love Sotheavy and the staff. Great salon experience! read more

Great place in downtown Medfield, staff is pleasant, place is well lit and I couldn't be happier with the services they provide. On top of that they're open early in the morning. Color and cut has me hooked. Actually was able to fix a bad coloring that I had at a previous salon. read more
