1/17/2020 - Michael came out today checked everything and It was coincidental, that they were here last week fixing the p-trap and last night the pop up now has a crack. They did a great job on replacing the parts needed in the furnace, however they did not relight the pilot and we have no heat. Calling and no answer. I need someone to come back out and complete this repair Follow up on this review. I contacted the company again since the repair was not completed properly and to my shock, a lady answered the phone only to tell me they have shut down the business and have no workers to come to my home and complete the service. Called in about an urgent repair request and Micheal was very short and condescending over the phone. He actually hung up the phone while we spoke and upon calling back did the same thing. I called back a third time to give the benefit of the doubt and he got very nasty towards me. I will never do business with this company so long as Micheal is working the phone. read more

Have you ever seen water coming out of nowhere and get that sinking feeling in the pit of your stomach? Well....I have and I can say that we are so lucky to have found Phillips plumbing. Our neighbor recommended them last year when we had a tiny leak in a pipe that caused an enormous mess in our home. Phillips plumbing came out and were beyond professional but more importantly they reassured us every step of the way and were incredibly reasonable in their pricing. Just this week we had another issues ( this time in the front yard). I called on a Saturday and received a call back right away. I spoke with Kevin who was so reassuring and even offered a couple of suggestions for us to check before they came out. Once again they came out and took care of the problem. They were on time and were a lovely with my boys who were all to happy to chat theirs ears off and play in all the mud. It's hard to find good companies and even harder good people, but at Phillips you can be sure to find both. I don't know why it takes forever and a day to get a response for an estimate. We had work done by them five years ago and they were great. So tried again for our main sewer line replacement. Called and was told someone would call back. Never did. I had to call back to see when they could come out. Was told someone would be out on Thursday. NO SHOW. Then, magically on a random Friday Rich shows up without a clue what the call was. Told him to return on Monday and explained what the job was. Came on a Monday w/o camera needed to do the estimate. Then tries to sell me on a liner. Yeah, NO THANKS. Don't think I will use them again. Too bad. read more

My father-in-law who lives in Hawthorn and is 90 years old needed some desperate plumbing work. Along with the plumbing work he ended up needing some new flooring and plumbing fixtures to install a new washer dryer and refrigerator. Phillips plumbing specifically Mike and Jasmine, were fantastic in helping me remotely as I live in the bay area and needed someone that I could trust and depend on to do the work for a senior and without me being there. I hold a very high bar in regard to contractors etc. after doing a multi year renovation on my own home. Mike and the team at Phillips plumbing were really amazing in all aspects of the job. They were timely, professional, friendly and did really great work and delivered on the promises they made to me and my father-in-law. although I did not want to spend more money, because the work was done so smoothly with them in regard to the appliances, we decided to put a walk in shower for my 90-year-old father-in-law. It was only because of the relationship I built with them that I trusted they could get the job done in a timely and economical manner. I highly recommend Phillips plumbing for any plumbing needs as well as larger projects like removing flooring and putting in new flooring to support things like appliances, showers etc. I do not normally make reviews but they were such a good company I really wanted others to avoid any pitfalls with contractors and plumbers who don't do what they say they are going to. Great company, I needed a new water heater tank installed because my old one was corroding and it wasn't working properly. I also found out that my sprinklers wasn't working properly I wanted to fix them ASAP. I gave Phillips Plumbing company a call and they came by the next day to get the job done. The workers were nice and friendly. Also they arrived on time which is a plus because I'm very busy. They did an excellent job helping me fix my sprinklers and installing a water heater tank. I've been using Phillips for years. Since Bryan installed a double sided wall heater for me. But this review is for some plumbing work I needed. My Kitchen sink was clogged un and so was the sink in one of our bathrooms. (I assumed they were connected because every time I used the garbage disposal, sediment would come out of my bathroom sink drain) I called Phillips. Bryan was there within the window of time I was quoted. He took a look at the clog and he left me know that the plumbing between my kitchen and bathroom was done incorrectly. I authorized him to correct the issue. He made the fix in no time. To showed me exactly what he replaced so I would know exactly what I was paying for. Price was reasonable. My drain is clogged a lot due to my luxurious hair and the fact that my girlfriend is a magical unicorn that sheds like crazy! So the liquid plumber wasn't cutting it anymore and we needed help. Called for an appointment and they said we can have someone out tomorrow. Sure enough right on time Brian was there to fix it. He wasn't even there 1/2 an hour and was done. Shower drain has been running great , he even gave me some tips on keeping it clean in the mean time. Awesome service. Very disappointing experience; work included the replacement of a sink & faucet that I provided myself. - It took daily calls for 3 days to schedule an appointment; every day they promised to call back & never did, so I kept calling back, since naively I believed my fellow yelpers and thought they are a decent operation. - Plumber left the shop around noon (according to their receptionist) but took him over 2 hours to drive the 5 or so miles to my house. - As soon as he showed up, he left to buy supplies, promising to return in 15-20 minutes; took him almost 2 hours to get back. I offered to get the supplies myself so he can start working, but he declined. Basically the "around 1 PM" appointment was moved to 3:15. - Gave me an estimate of 2-3 hours and "around $300-$400" for the work; it took him about 6 hours, out of which 2 hours was the "quick" trip to get supplies. - He billed me over $700, which I negotiated down to $650. He said the cost of supplies was $200; when I asked for the supply invoice, he did not have one. The $200 is total BS; the supplies he bought (or brought in from his truck?) were a few feet of ABS pipe, say $30, and an air gap, for around $15. The $45 of supplies were billed at $200... - He installed the air gap, was unable to get it to work, so he removed it... Disappointing indeed. read more

As our last guest left the party, we looked out the window and noticed water bubbling out of our home's overflow pipe and running down the driveway. Upon entering both bathrooms our feet squished on the fully soaked rugs on the floors and the toilets were full to the brim. It was 9 p.m. on a Sunday night and both toilets in the house were backed up. After a few futile attempts at plunging them we knew we'd need a 24-hour plumber and had absolutely no idea who to call. Luckily, we made a really good guess. Phillips Plumbing to the rescue! Kevin came out right away, identified the problem immediately (roots invading the sewer line), snaked them out and our issue was solved in no time and for less $$ than we were afraid of. Phillips Plumbing took what could have been a really bad ending to a fun night and turned it right back around. On top of that, Kevin couldn't have been a nicer guy. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND Phillips Plumbing, feel really fortunate to have found someone so amazing so near, and will definitely be using them in the future. read more

My landlord used this company and at first I was called to see what time I would be available and I was willing in the morning, but prior to 8. They were to call me back and never did. For this I'm rating a 4 cause you shouldn't leave a customer hanging. Once I took the time to reach back out to them a number of arrangements were made between all parties and we finally agreed to a Saturday. The company called in the am that day and things were great. The call was just to fix the pilot light but it turned out to be a gas line that they didn't have or could get to, and it took several hours to locate. The manager was in constant communication with me after I mentioned of issues and was very sympathetic towards the situation, and eventually we all decided on the best option and we moved forward with it. The plumber who did the work was also very understanding and deserves a lot of credit. He was very kind and worked through the issues to help us. In the end, if it wasn't for returning my call in the beginning and not leaving me hanging I would have given them a 5 rating. Great work other than that. read more

Phillips Plumbing came out recently and fixed a leak in my bathroom. The pipe was coming from the unit above mine so whenever my neighbor showered, you could hear the water behind the wall. They needed to open up the wall in my shower to get to the leaking pipe and even did the drywall patch and painted. Looks like nothing ever happened. They were quick, efficient and clean! read more
