Mattucci Plumbing just finished replacing a root infested section of my main drain from my house to the street. Tyler, Olsi and Matt from Mattucci did a beautiful job. It's too bad they had to bury their beautiful work. They promised one day of prep, one day of pipe pulling to replace my old clay pipe with new pipe, and one day for the city's inspection and their cleanup. Everything went according to plan, and I believe their price was reasonable. I waited for decades to take care of this problem because I thought that it would be enormously expensive to dig up the entire 30' from my house to the sidewalk. That would produce enough dirt to cover almost 1/2 of my front yard. I considered pipe lining, but I was concerned that I couldn't clear any future problems with a snake without damaging the lining. Instead of digging a major trench or lining the old drain, Mattucci dug a hole at each end of the old pipe and pulled the new pipe from hole to hole. The STD-17 pipe they used is both flexible for installation and very strong for a very long lifetime afterwards and no more roots. They discussed the plans ahead of time with the city senior inspector before beginning work, so there were no problems with the city permit or the final inspection. Tyler, Olsi and Matt had previously completed many pipe pulls similar to mine, so there were no hiccups or price increases. I was surprised how much effort they spent on the third day repacking the dirt and cleaning up their work. They had saved patches of grass before they initially dug the two holes and they put each patch back exactly where it came from. Except for the newly installed cleanouts, there was no sign of the extensive work they had performed during the previous three days. I was impressed and very happy with their work. For a complex job like this one, I would definitely go with Mattucci again. read more

Arrived home at 10:30PM on a Saturday night from a long trip only to find a plumbing disaster. I tried to run a load of laundry while unpacking and soon heard the sound of rushing water coming from the crawlspace. It was water overflowing from an old badly installed toilet drain because there was apparently a clog in the sewer line. This drain had not revealed itself as a problem before because the house sewer pipes had not backed up since we bought the house 10 months ago. I saw Mattucci Plumbing recommended through a Google Reddit search and saw they're open 24 hours and nearby so I gave them a frantic call. Their answering service and dispatch quickly coordinated a visit from their plumber on call, David. By midnight David was already under the house troubleshooting the issue and figured out we must have a clog on the house side of the front yard cleanout. He was able to clear the clog from the crawlspace cleanout and get our sewer lines back in business. Really a tremendous relief to be able to get this resolved so quickly after discovering what was the worst homeownership emergency we've yet faced, and the price for the fix was very reasonable. I don't know if after hours work affected the price but it was very fair in my opinion. I have a tendency to ask too many questions but David took it in stride and was very thorough in explaining his thinking and gave me something of an education on sewer pipes. We're already planning to call them again to get the many other plumbing problems resolved (including the previous owner's bad toilet install). This firm never finished repairing our toilet. Our water supply valve was leaking and it was replaced. But the water to the tank would constantly go on and off, and that was not fixed. They charged us $285 and wanted to charge us for another visit to repair a problem that they should have fixed previously. We previously used Mattucci Plumbing for a $7,000 main water line replacement to our home. However, they evidently don't guarantee their work to fix a toilet and don't value a previous customer. Mattucci Plumbing - July, 2024. After all my efforts to fix a slow draining toilet failed, it was time to call a plumber. I called Mattucci because they advertise in our church bulletin. The person who answered the phone was friendly and scheduled an appointment for the next day. Our plumber, Rudy, arrived on time. He first thought we had a partial clog and said it would be $150 to run the auger through the toilet. The auger did not make the toilet drain any faster. Undaunted, Rudy put on a jumpsuit and went under the house to inspect the pipes. The house pipes were properly plumbed and Rudy showed me pictures. Because the pipes were not the problem Rudy said we needed a new toilet. I ordered a 1.28 gpf Toto Ultramax II online for $577 via Build.com. Mattucci did not charge us for the unsuccessful auger, only $250 for the under house pipe inspection. The next day, Rudy went and picked up our new toilet in Carson, no charge, and brought it to our house. He removed the old toilet (a 17 year old Toto Carlyle) and we immediately saw the problem: a stalactite of weird ossified you-know-what partially blocking the old toilet's plastic drain adaptor, probably caused in part by the use of flushable wipes. Don't use flushable wipes. Get a bidet toilet seat like a Toto K300 or, our choice, an Alpha UX Pearl. But I digress. Rudy took the old toilet out and dollied it away, along with the hideous plastic drain adaptor. He brought in the new toilet, grabbed a new wax ring from his truck and installed the new toilet - right on the money first time. Rudy hooked up the new braided steel water supply line, installed the toilet seat that came with the toilet, turned on the water and confirmed no leaks then ran a bead of caulk around the base of the toilet. He packed up his tools and the box the new toilet came in, wheeled the old toilet out to his truck and loaded it and the packaging up. Easy peasy (for me, not for Rudy; the old toilet - a one-piece Toto - was a heavy porcelain beast). The new toilet is fantastic, flushes like a dream and uses less water than the 1.6 gpf Carlyle. Also, the Ultramax we ordered is ADA compliant, so the seat height is an inch and a half higher - easier and more comfy for us old folks. Total price for all that service - fetching the new toilet, uninstalling the old toilet, unpacking and installing the new toilet, hauling away the old toilet along with all the packaging - $400. Such a deal. I recommend Mattucci Plumbing and will definitely call them when we have another plumbing problem. read more

Andres and Alfonso were so helpful, professional, on time, calm AND of course they were amazing at identifying and providing fixes for our plumbing issues. Andres went above and beyond answering questions. We called because my mom's home had water leaking out of a bathroom toilet & shower that ran on the adjacent hardwood floors - yes, a mess! As good as it gets. Our washer drain line was clogged. I happen to notice soap suds coming out while on the spin cycle while doing laundry. Some ran down the side wall near the mess. I may have used a little extra soap. This never happens as I am a person that uses very little soap as I know what can happen. I called Mattucci as i have had them out before. They originally were supposed to come between 3 and 5 but the dispatcher said he could come sooner. It was great as i needed to wash clothes. Eric promptly showed up and was very nice! He snaked the line and checked everything out. I got a very generous senior discount which made my day. He was very quick and did a great job. What more to say. Our second time using Mattucci plumbing (two different installations.) We requested Joseph again for the service call since he was so great the first visit. Just as the first time Joseph did the installation quickly and all while being very careful with everything he did. He always is very tidy and does his work with the least amount of interruption as possible. Our experience- horrible customer service and field employee(s) unskilled/untrained in supporting customers and were rude, abusive (using bully & intimidation tactics), and are extremely unprofessional. My wife said a member of the crew cussed her out and used very foul language. It was so bad that formal complaints were filed with SCG & also Mattucci over unacceptable performance & retaliation concerns. The police were called to remove them from our property. I would like to believe the good reviews and think the crew/individual that came to our house had a bad day (both times). I couldn't be happier with Mattucci's service. I remodeled my kitchen and my drain pipe in the wall for the kitchen sink had to be repositioned 3.5" lower. I had scheduled an appointment over the weekend for a plumber to come out on Monday. When he showed up he told me the work that needed to be done, but I thought what he was asking for cost-wise was way too high so I reached out to Mattucci. Within ONE HOUR one of their technicians was at my house. He assessed the situation and also indicated the pipe had to be repositioned and had to crack open the exterior wall. However, his price was much more reasonable and within the scope of the project. Within a couple of hours he was done and everything was perfect. Cannot recommend this service more. Beware!!! Avoid this plumbing company unless you like miscommunications, unresponsiveness, super superior attitudes at the office level and sky high prices. On the positive side the reps who came to our house, Andres and Julian, were very nice. That's the extent of the "nice" in my experience with Mattucci. Andres surveyed our issue and we agreed on a solution and how to repair and reroute a pipe. I was told they would either call with an estimate that night or email it to me the next day. Long story short, I finally got the estimate one week later and only after several calls on my part and being berated for not paying an "open invoice" which by the way I had never received. They finally send the phantom invoice for $250 via email and I was told "...they expected payment by the end of the day" so I called, paid via credit card and waited for the estimate to be emailed. Still no estimate. The last call I made was from out of the country and luckily the operations manager answered the phone and he pulled up the estimate and emailed it right away. It had been sitting on their system and they obviously just wanted my $250 and were holding the estimate. Their estimate was over $4,500 higher than the other estimate I received. When The Gas Company came out to light our pilots, after termite tenting, they were not able to do so and gave us multiple pick slips for minor gas leaks including a much bigger issue requiring 100 feet of piping from the meter to the back of our 100 year old property. We contacted Mattucci plumbing and they were able to schedule 3 technicians immediately. Christian, Jorge and Andres worked on our place for 2 very long days and made sure that everything would check out. When we called the Gas Company to return and they were on their way, we then realized that the final hook up to the meter, hadn't occurred. We immediately called Mattucci and Jorge came out within the hour to do the final hook up and while The Gas Company was there. Everything passed and we got our gas reinstated right then. Besides the last minute oversight, Christian, Jorge and Andres were extremely thorough and efficient and worked very hard to get this done in just a couple of days.
