Philly Ya Belly is my hook-up for cheese steaks in the Lynnwood/Everett area. They also have a favorite for this NJ boy; cheese fries! They have many combinations of sandwiches with bell peppers, mushrooms, onions, and wiz. The steaks are good, and the bread is high quality. I also enjoyed their hot pastrami sandwich with dill pickles. (yum) Get a Belly Buster sized 'steak so you can have some to take home with you. Wow, have I really never reviewed Philly Ya Belly before this? I've been coming here for years, since it was the original owner (from Philly). The new (now many years) owner has kept up the good work. As a New Yorker with lots of friends in Philly, I actually prefer the Philly Ya Belly cheese steaks to many of the places in Philly. The bread is soft and good, the steak is cut up and cooked right, the cheese is right. The pastrami sandwiches are also a favorite of the guys at my shop (auto repair). Whenever the guys find out I will be anywhere near PYB, they beg me to stop in and pick up some sandwiches for them. Definitely try out their sandwiches. The sausage is pretty good too, but the cheese steaks and pastrami sandwiches are even better, so that's what we always get. read more

I read great things about the sanwiches, but terrible things about the service. I thought, Meh, as long as I get the sandwich of my philly dreams, than all is well..... NOT!! I went there with my boyfriend to experience this cheesey goodness for myself. We ordered 2 of the #19's and an infamous garlic fries.. We ordered the food to go so we could come home and watch the sounders vs. argentina game :) We got our food in a timely manner i suppose, but once getting home, we unraveled ONE SANDWICH .... UGH.... So I call the lady (being nice just to make her aware of the situation and hopefully getting our 2ND sandwich outta the mistake. NOPE wrong again. All she asked was, "How much did you pay me?" Ummmm, what!?! Needless to say, she made the entire situation out to be somehow MY FAULT... Like maybe I didnt make myself clear that I wanted 2 sandwiches for 2 MOTHER LOVEN PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!! Hands down the best Philly you can get in the north sound. I am a big fan of cheese steaks and always try them wherever I can find them. This place beats every cheese steak I've ever had in Western Washington. The bread is always soooo soft, the balance of meat/cheese/veggies is always perfect and the combination options on the ingredients is never a problem(order it however you want it). Stefanos' Pizza was located in this space back in 1995. Stefanos brought in the gas line and hood and got the place permitted for a full service restaurant. He learned that instead of having a large menu with pizza, burgers, gyros, and deli sandwiches, it is better to have a focused menu with higher quality, fresher ingredients. That is what Philly Ya Belly had been doing there now for many years. Stefanos was proud to sell this business for a profit after only a couple of years in operation. Sesame Grill bought it and didn't take his advice, by adding teriyaki to the already large menu. A southern BBQ place followed, stole equipment, didn't pay rent and went bankrupt. A burger place followed and seemed ok for a while. Philly Ya Belly got it right by keeping it simple. Okay, my favorite place for Cheesesteaks in Calozzis, BUT I can't always go there for lunch working in Mukilteo. Hands-down Philly Ya Belly the best cheesesteak place North of Seattle. They got the Whiz, the bread is good, the meat quality and portions are good. Pricing is...FAIR. I only say that because i wish they had some kind of combo deal with drink and fries, but they don't, so it ends up running you close to $13-$14 for a cheesesteak with fries and a drink. The meat was not shaved.. it was like it was put into a blender, there was no meat consistency at all.. this was not a Philly Cheesesteak. The flavor of the meat was lost to the cheese completely and you probably could have eaten it through a straw in a cup. The roll was far to soft and doughy to make it enjoyable as well. The "Garlic" Fries I think had a clove of garlic waved over them.. there was no actual garlic on the fries and barely any garlic flavored oil as well. Never again, I don't know what these people that rated this 5 stars think a Philly Cheesesteak should be but they should visit Philadelphia or New York and find out and then rate this place again. The place is really clean, the staff was way nice. I got the Cheese Steak with peppers, onions, and mushrooms. It was good..not great.. but really good. The bread is nice and soft and yummy, the meat was very hot and tender, but there just seemed to be a lack of the peppers & onions, and I think I tasted 1 mushroom. I don' t think I am a big fan of the WIZ as they call it.. The sandwich was really rich..Will I go back, yep! I want to try their hot pastrami..without the Wiz..maybe with Swiss.. Defiantly worth the money..all smalls are $6.99-which I could barely finish, and the Belly Busters are $8.99-I can't even imagine!! So next time you come to the North end give it a try!! read more

The meat is high quality and you can sub different cheeses. I get provolove and it's good, you can taste a little bit of sharpness. The roll is the one thing missing from a philly cheesesteak. AWWW, i'm so in love with the family that is running this business. They're really good and quick even on a busy lunch day. Everything tasted fresh and hot, and we got our food to go too. All i have to say is, really great garlic/cheese fries... even after being kept closed for a few mins till we got home they weren't at all soggy for a togo order. Lots of space to sit in too. Lots of cops that frequent the establishment, which is always nice for everyone!
