Was recommended to check this place out by a friend. It's not easy to find - at least it wasn't for me, and I'm glad I didn't give up. The place was clean and welcoming. The young man who took my order was friendly and was seemed happy to hear I had never been there before. He said "I hope you like us." I ordered their small philly with just meat and white american cheese and a side of onion rings. IF you get a side, the small can easily be split with someone. If you are only eating the sandwich it's a nice helping. Overall...this will become part of my regular rotation. They've got all sorts of types of phillys. Mostly traditional ones, nothing fancy. Alright. If you're thinking about not eating here, you're missing it. I'll admit, generally we DoorDash this, that said, it's on point EVERY TIME. I literally wiggle my feet in excitement when this food comes to the door. It's childish and I don't care. Long day, hard workout, drink in my hand and a Philly? Hell yes. The cheese is always perfect, there's some cheese sauce I can't identify or recreate when I make my own. The bread is perfectly soft without being soggy, and the flavor is just perfect. And I really hate to even not like this place, so I pretend like I don't and I keep coming back, hoping it will be everything I want it to be. But I'm always so bummed, because it's always just like the last 2, 3, and 4 times i came before:(((( But maybe it's just me. Maybe I just don't like Philly cheese steaks? I've been living in this area for so long and just found out about it this week. I saw a Facebook article covering this business from many years ago and immediately came to try it the next day. The service was impeccable. The speed of the food is so fast I audibly said "wow". You can hear the chef cook your food, chopping the steak, and within a few minutes (I'm talking like less than 5) it is out to you. The garlic fries were amazing, tasted like I was at a Mariner's Baseball game. Restaurant was very clean, staff was nice, and prices fair. The mozzarella sticks here are terrible. They're clearly frozen pre-made crap. I could get better mozz sticks from a supermarket. The cheesesteaks are what you come here for though, and they're ok, but way overpriced for such tiny sandwiches. The "bellybuster" comes on the same roll as the small except they stuff it with so much meat you can't fit your mouth around it. How is it that appetizing? You completely screw up the bread to meat ratio and it throws off the taste. If you don't get the BB size then you just get a tiny sandwich with a small amount of meat but you pay almost the same amount as the larger size, so either way you're unsatisfied. If they would just give you a larger roll with the BB size then you would have a quality cheesesteak instead of a mediocre one. read more

I would not put Philly Ya Belly on my favorite cheesesteak list. It was a large portion for a small size sandwich, very soft bun that was stuffed with finely diced meat and tons of diced onions, swimming in a pool of white American cheese (consistency of cheese whiz). The bun helped hold it all together as did the cheese. It was hot but primarily got the flavor of the onions and cheese. For anyone from the Midwest, it reminded me of a White Castle cheeseburger. I prefer a toasted roll (which maybe was the French bread option), the meat in bigger pieces, a lot less onions and real, sliced cheese (again, perhaps the $1 provolone option). $8.99 for the sandwich with no options, so not inexpensive. Service was friendly and prompt. Very basic interior with plastic and fluorescent lighting, but clean. read more

Philly Ya Belly just absolutely crushed my expectations. When I first tried it I was craving a Philly really bad, and started looking online for recommendations. While there were much closer recommendations given to me, I decided to venture further from home for this lunch after reading the reviews of PYB. The Everett trip is worth it. To me this sandwich tastes authentic to the ones served in the City of Brotherly Love. In addition to their standard recipes, they know the common special requests people make to their Philly. Such as Chez-Wiz, provolone, mushrooms, etc. All of which (and more!) can be accommodated. I've been a couple of times since and tried something new each time. I've been thrilled with the result on each visit. I told my family to check it out as they live closer than I do. It's a large group and each of them said it was a 5-star experience for them as well. Solid 3 1/2 stars. I went for the first time this week and got the classic cheesesteak. It was pretty tasty. Good amount and meat and seasoned pretty well (I did add some black pepper). Normally I get wiz -but this time tried it with the white American cheese. I definitely prefer a cheesesteak with wiz - so I will try that next time. The fries were pretty good. My only complaint was I thought the bun was way too soft. I like a cheesesteaks with a firmer roll. The place is spotless and I liked the choice of condiments.
