It took 3 hrs to test and replace my battery. All while my elderly mother, who has to take her medicine on a schedule and cannot sit for that long without being in pain. I brought my daughter's Toyota Tundra '03 which my husband bought from Philpott Toyota, brake light and engine light are on in the dashboard plus the front passenger tire is soft. And I want to know if there's a safety recall on this truck. I declined diagnostic because they're charging me $109. Justin Fredrick said the tire pressures are fine (but you can see clearly the front passenger tire is soft), he said no open recalls on this truck. Again I pointed it to him the soft tire, again he said they checked and tire pressures are fine. I didn't argue with him anymore because I know I'm just wasting my time; I brought the truck to Sam's and the tire pressure on that particular tire was 25 instead of 30. I tried to call Jason Monk, Service Manager but my call went to voice mail and I left a message. Update 8/10/2017 Gen Manager Darren Granger called me yesterday and ask for us to come back and waived the $109 diagnostic; there's some problems with truck and I have to pay a lot of money. We decided to trade the truck, bought a new Camry '17 for my daughter and we're very pleased with the service we received today. They compensated for the hassle that one of their Service Agents did to us Tuesday. Thank you all! read more

Very unprofessional practices here. Had agreed with a sales person to come and buy a truck for $23k. We agreed on the price and did a bunch of paper work over the phone. I then proceeded to book a hotel since i was driving in from Austin. Later i check their website again to make sure the truck is still for sale to notice the price was listed at $26k because $23k was a "pricing error." I did not believe this at all since the price was listed as $23k on every website they had it listed on and didn't change those prices until i mentioned it. Super unprofessional to raise the price to make a few extra bucks when a price has already been agreed on. In total, wasted a week of car searching believing this deal would work out, but instead i lost out on the hotel i paid for and ended up finding a better deal locally afterwards which worked out perfect in the end read more

Went to get my oil changed today for my 25000 mile service. This should have been my last free service. They wanted to charge me 130.00 for the oil change and tire rotation because I went over the 25,000 miles. They said they could have helped me out if I would have bought there instead of houston. I was living in Houston when I bought the truck. Bad business and crappy attitudes at this place. I'll never do business here again. They don't appreciate their customers. I have a bloodhound nose when it comes to ouch salespersons. If I even get a hint of aggression , I'm out of there! Philpott was the easiest car dealership I have ever dealt with. The salesperson ,Arturo, was as easy going as they come and spent the time to explain every little detail of the vehicle. It took us several days to decide which dealership we were going to buy from and he was available by phone anytime we called him. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because of the speed at which their back of house operates. That could have been because it was over the XMESS week but I assumed they would know they were going to be busy. Having said that, it was still an enjoyable experience!! read more

Prior to going to Philpott I was told by several people that their sales service was not up to par. However, they related that it had been several years since they have been there to purchase a new vehicle. So it was the closest dealer to me I figured I would roll the dice. I was in the market for a 2016 4Runner, I had previously been there before to look at that particular car (manager was driving it "demo") however the trade-in they offered was insane (sold the car privately within 2 weeks for 8K more). Which I understand is out of their control on what they can take for a trade in. So after selling my car I called to make sure they had the vehicle on the lot prior to my arrival, the salesman told me a price and said he would have it on the lot at 2P when I arrived. I get there at 2, and ended up waiting a little bit because the sales person was busy. After he gathered his thoughts we took the vehicle for a test drive, and after that was over we were walking inside. I told him everything looked good, and lets go sit down and talk about the price (FYI this was a demo model with 5700 miles already put on it). The salesman told me he gave me the best price. He insisted that he could not come off of the price what so ever. I explained to him that the same vehicle (minus KDSS an added option) I can go to 4 places in Houston right now and purchase with 1-11 miles and $600.00 cheaper. The salesman told me to have a nice day, and walked away. He appeared to be flustered and was busy. Seemed disinterested in making a sale, and would not attempt to speak with me regarding the price of the vehicle. Subsequently I made the drive to Houston and purchased the same vehicle, again minus KDSS, for much cheaper. I cannot attest to their service department, but I can say that I would not purchase a vehicle from them ever. The place in Houston could not have been more honest, and attentive. Even though convenience is a factor when shopping for a vehicle, I can say with all honesty I would recommend making the trip to a larger dealership. read more

I came in specifically for a battery. I had to get jumped just to get here. I also needed to have an oil change and my tires rotated... I wait over an hour and the guy comes out to review the service. He says, ..."the battery is reading bad so you may want to get they looked at..." I SPECIFICALLY came here for a battery!!!! I asked MULTIPLE times for a new battery... When he reviewed the charges prior to services being rendered, I SPECIFICALLY ASKED, "Does this include the battery?" To which he said no, but we will check that for you. No apology. No nothing for wasting my time and my day. I am INCREDIBLY disappointed in their lack of professionalism and attention to detail. Took our 2007 Toyota Yaris in for regular service. I already knew one of the brake lights was out, but they handed it back telling me everything was fine and charged me over 80 dollars that included oil change, tire rotation etc. Their 'multi point' inspection ticked the brake light box along with everything else as being in full working order.
