first timer at philz coffee and though the menu is pretty limited there's enough options for every kind of coffee drinker. I was i knew what the drink i order is called, the cashier let me know their popular drinks & what are in them. She let me know of an off menu drink item and forgot the name but it tastes like cinnamon hazelnut, and a bit chocolatey. Drink was very good and smooth, perfect balance of coffee and sweet. I sat by the windows and the harsh sun made it hard to study. It would be nice if they put up some blinds against the windows for during the day. I visited a new spot at Victoria Gardens, near the food court and Shake Shack. I ordered based on the staff's recommendation, as they don't serve traditional coffee here, just various coffee blends with unique names. The staff was very friendly, and the ambiance was just okay, with a pleasant aroma of coffee brewing in the background. I ordered the Philtered Soul, which was their recommendation. It took about 15-20 minutes to get my order, which is a bit longer than most coffee shops, but understandable since they handcraft each cup. As for the taste, it was fine but not amazing. It was a little too sweet for my liking, and I didn't finish it. It's nice to have this spot around, but I'd still prefer heading to a local Starbucks for a quicker coffee fix. I could not believe it when I heard that they were opening a Philz close to us. I used to drive to the one in Orange and boy was that far! So of course, I had to come check out the new one in Rancho. It's located next to the food court. Parking can be a problem if you arrive at a busy time, or if you want to drop in and out fast. The inside was really boxy and had a few tables for customers. There was a little bit of a wait for my drink and food. It seemed like they were receiving a whole bunch of mobile orders. There were many people crowding and waiting and not enough space. All that was forgotten once I got my delicious cup of Philz though. The barista was thoughtful and asked me to try the coffee and see if it was to my liking. Love this new addition to victoria gardens. Been wanting to try Philz coffee, but never had one near so I was so excited to go here! Staff was so sweet and helpful he emphasized all their popular drinks and offered their pastries or food which I'm for sure trying next time. He even mentioned if we didn't like our drinks to bring it back and they'll adjust or remake it. The first time I went it was delicious, I got the Honey Haze cold. I just went this morning and I wanted to try the Honey Haze hot. At the very bottom of their menu, it says all drinks are customizable and can be made hot and cold. I ordered the Honey Haze hot and the cashier says "We can't make that hot, it's with cold brew so it has to be cold." So why does the menu say all drinks can be made hot OR cold? The cashier also didn't even try to help me come up with how to make a hot Honey Haze. So I tried to make it up myself and it tasted terrible. Spent $7 for a coffee that tasted like I bought it from the gas station. I then text my friend who loves this place about what happened and she said she gets the Honey Haze hot ALL THE TIME! Had high hopes for this place and was super excited to try it every time I come to Victora gardens lines are out the door for this place. I came here last Tuesday and was highly disappointed I got the rose coffee and the gingersnap both gross and coffee tasted burnt so honestly couldn't even taste the difference between the two flavors. That's how strong the taste of burnt coffee was. We got larges and sadly threw both away. The mint mojito was definitely strong in mint but refreshing on a hot summer day. The coffee wasn't too overpowering as the mint was balanced with it. Mocha was added in the tesora and it turned out good as well. You're not getting the real Philz Coffee taste/flavor. Before leaving this review, I was able to try this Philz location twice. The first visit I ordered two mint mojitos and a mocha tesora. All three drinks tasted off. I went back again 5 days later and ordered a honey haze which also tasted off. I've drinking Philz coffee for well over 15 years and been going to Philz coffee since they were only in The Bay Area and have tried basically all drinks on the menu. This location isn't giving new customers the real Philz coffee taste and experience. I tried my top 3 go to drinks at Philz and pretty much they all had a burnt coffee taste and the sweetness level wasn't there. Also the service wasn't as nice as other locations and I went during a busy time and a slow time. You would figure the baristas would be friendly especially for being a brand new location. I get this place is new but when other locations like El Segundo, Glendale, and Costa Mesa opened up, the drinks tasted good and baristas were really nice and energetic. I honestly would give 2 stars but since I'm a Philz fan I gave it 3. I'll try them again maybe in a few weeks or a month and hopefully I can change this review to more stars. read more

The main issue I have is how long the wait is . It seems like this location gets busy but I've been here a few times where it hasn't been too busy and it's still really slow . The drinks don't necessarily take to long but what it seems like is slowing everything down is the ordering process . Every time I've come here there is only one person taking orders and each order seems to take forever to place . I don't know if it's because their orders are so complicated or what . I think having another person to take orders would help . The other Philz locations I've been to have been better because they're way more fast and efficient. Super long line even for the pickup orders, not a lot of seating inside the coffee shop, only one register and cashier for opening week is a little crazy! However they did a great job with the coffee for just opening and having all new baristas, very happy with the customer service all very open to feedback on how coffee was, greeting and apologizing for the wait.
