For dinner we enjoyed the hot & spicy basil stir fry AND the seafood choo chee curry! It was actually a good amount of food to share and even have some left overs! It was hard to pick favorite because they were both DELICIOUS!!!!! The choo chee curry is made with coconut milk and all the flavors blended SO WELL!!!!! On the other hand the spicy basil stir fry tasted so fresh and good as well!! I would definitely recommend trying this place for great Thai food - they actually also offer Vietnamese food too!!! The satay chicken was cooked and seasoned properly and the sauces were the typical pickled veggies and slightly sweet and the peanut sauce tasted good. Actually, it was 1 male server that was doing everything from hosting, taking orders, serving, and everything else while juggling different customers. Surprisingly, service was very quick. It went down from there. None of the dishes were authentic. They said that they had to accommodate the clientale around there and therefore, it's more americanized. If we had wanted authentic dishes, we would have to call in advance to place that order so that they can pull things from the freezer and prepare it. Why would we do that? It was our first time there. We thought it'll be just like every other restaurant. You go in, order what's on the menu, and expect that to come out. Not ask for fried fish and they tell you that it's still in the freezer. Or, ask for Amok and they said that they only make 10 (or was it 20?) per day, but someone had called in advance the day before to order them all. Even their Somlor Machu Kreung only had celeries as their vegetables because they said thrakhoun would just spoil. At least add some jalapenos, green papaya, tomatoes, etc to it. In addition, all the food proportions were so small. It's definitely not family-style dishes. Oh yes, I do not understand why their basil chicken fried rice was red and looking like tomato paste. Perhaps it's a Cleveland thing? I'm from the South and we do not make our basil fried rice like that. Flavors were okay for some dishes and other dishes were just plain. I was embarassed to even bring my family here. We will not be coming here again.

I ordered the Raan Fried Rice and the Pad Thai, and both were packed with flavor, generously portioned, and incredibly satisfying. I enjoyed it so much that I ended up coming back three times during my trip. What made the experience even more memorable was Sandy. Every single time I walked through the door, she welcomed me with the same genuine warmth and kindness, as if she was happy to see me for the first time all over again. It's rare to meet someone who can make a complete stranger feel so welcome. On my last day in Ohio, I stopped by one more time just to say goodbye before heading home. That's how much this place--and the people there--stood out to me. If I'm ever back in Ohio, Raan Thai will be my first stop.

He turns to me and said, "Of course we can! We can make it not as spicy as you want (while squatting down) and make it as spicy as you want (while reaching up to the ceiling)".
