I was impressed at the menu selection as they offer a number of items you do not normally find at most Vietnamese restaurants. We ended up ordering special beef noodle (well done) and Vietnamese shaking beef. Food arrived a short time later. However, the meat slices were still raw when the bowl of noodles arrived. Broth was light but flavourful. There was a good amount of noodles and toppings. The Vietnamese shaking beef was alright. I still prefer the version at Phnom Penh Restaurant and have not found anything close to that version. Ginger ale was served with a cold glass cup. Good service on the that part. I took off a star because staff did not come back to refill water cups and the server/kitchen did not follow our request for the meat to be well done. read more

This is the cleanest and most modern looking pho restaurant I have come across that also serves delicious food! I would highly recommend the peanut satay pho, which is mild-moderately spicy. The rich, creamy broth is divine! You get to choose your protein, and I got it with chicken. It's not just dry chicken bits that they throw in. Rather, there are tender slices of what almost tastes like Hainanese style chicken that soak up the yummy soup. Their curry and vermicelli bowls are also beautiful and packed with flavour--not to mention all generously sized. Their spring rolls are top notch, as well. Note that their menu doesn't have many of your traditional pho options, so if you just want a well done brisket pho or a Bun Bo Hue, this is NOT the place to go. I've been here several times in the past two months. Each time I'm here, I usually order one of the chef's special, particularly Tuan Special. This time I ordered the yellow curry with rice. You might think it's weird to come into a vietnamese restaurant for curry, but then again I enjoy curry and I was craving curry so I ordered curry. Probably the better curry option within this area. Last time I had the yellow curry, it was good. This time, the yellow curry was just alright because the texture of the rice was a bit off this time, a bit on the cold and hard side. If you could ask them to replace it with vermecilli instead, you will probably enjoy this dish a lot more. As for service, the staffs are exceptionally friendly. Overall, it's a great place to enjoy a meal with friends. The background music playing is soft and relaxing, so you can have a conversation with friends. Just don't bring a large group, as you may need to wait longer during peak periods. read more

On a rainy day #40 Tuan Special Beef Noodle is what you must have. The broth has a smoky taste. Lots and lots of meat and Raw egg. Order the whole bowl to yourself !! On the down side. This gives you the best of all worlds to try which appetizers you like best for future ordering reference. Must order the wings! Lightly tossed in a non over powering fish sauce the texture of the wings makes your mouth water from the crispy skin. Pho Tuan! I never really venture out to much from my favs but I gave it a try. It's definitely a more expensive bowl of pho but it's worth it! The meat is "smoked" yes, you read right smoked!! Did I mention it comes with a poached egg in the soup so you can have a creamy broth ahhh heaven! And thinly sliced garlic. The size of the bowl is good even for two people if you are ordering a lot to try things out. Price is good and service is good but food is primo! I've been bragging about this place to my Bf but I never brought him, but today is his lucky day because I'm writing this review my cravings just kicked in. The girl that was working there remembered my sister cause she goes there for lunch. She's so helpful, made my first time experience more personable cause she remembered what she usually orders and because my sister comes here often I trusted the food was going to be good. I discovered Pho 37 at Ironwood Plaza couple months back. Fast forward now I found out they have one way closer to my house and I was so excited! Their portion to price is quite reasonable and I'm in a 'full enough' but not over full mindset after eating there. I love their lemongrass chicken with spring rolls and sugar cane menu item while my fiancée loves their special pho #40. Pho is always comfort food, especially during the cold days. Yes, it's rare to find an Asian restaurant without MSG, but if you really wanted to taste pho without MSG (even if they did use msg, it would be very small amount...?), then Pho 37 is the one that you are looking for. Parking was easy, and the restaurant was clean. The staffs were also very friendly. We were visiting Vancouver for about a week, and we ended up eating at Pho 37 after shopping for several hours at the outlet mall. (It's only about 10 minute drive from the outlet). I've had many bowls of pho in my life, but this was definitely pretty good. But what I really loved here was their grilled meat selection. We got a platter, and the portions were so huge that 3 ladies (including myself) devoured, but could not finish. The meat was grilled so perfectly and the marinade tasted delicious. We also ordered grilled beef ribs as our 3rd entree, and although it was delicious, I think the grilled pork meat included in the platter tasted better. I remember being so exhausted from the shopping, but then eating a warm delicious bowl of pho and the marinaded meat tasted so good that I felt happy and satisfied. The leaves were falling and looking out the windy street view was also very beautiful from our seats. I don't know when I will visit Vancouver again, but I will always have a good memory of eating here. read more

The place is very comfortable and clean. Everything seems very new. I really enjoyed their classical music background and some nice painting on the wall. Food was good. Decent portion, nice soup base. No MSG. The ingredients also tasted good. My hue style beef noodle soup was spicier than other places I think. But tasted really delicious. A good balance of spicy with a bit of sour. What surprises me the most is the service. The waiter was so thoughtful that we didn't want cilantro in the 2 noodles and he took away the cilantro in the sandwich as well even though we didn't ask for it. He was cute to ask if we were Japanese coz he thought Japanese didn't like cilantro. But rarely in a casual Vietnamese we find such good service. Definitely will come back :) read more

This is my favourite pho place in Richmond! It's super convenient and the flavours are probably the most authentic ones in Richmond! They have two locations I prefer going to the capstan way location! * Hue style beef noodle soup ($13.95) ~ this is my ultimate go to! The spicy lemongrass broth with the super tender, flavoured beef brisket, and the soft pork blood with amazingly juicy pork hock meat and pork ham combines into an amazing fragrant of deliciousness. The broth is super rich and delicious and tastes so good compared to the normal one. I can't ever eat pho without this broth now as it's not the same! * Lemongrass chicken/pork, spring roll and shrimp salad roll combination set ($16.50) the portion is good for the price, comes with a nice bed of lemongrass chicken or pork. It's marinated very beautifully and placed on a bed of vermicelli! The noodles really soak in the sauce from the meat! The spring rolls are very crunchy and nicely filled, phenomenal with the side sauce. The crunch is everything! The the shrimp salad roll is perfected, shrimp perfectly cooked, and wrap nicely tight wrapped. The peanut sauce adds a nice finish to complete the dish. * 10/10 - I 100% recommend this place! Rainy days calling for pho! Pho 37 is one of my go-to pho restaurant since their soup base doesn't have any msg. This time we tried their Sate Peanut Noodles with beef and Shun Fa Noodles, as well as salad roll and Vietnamese iced coffee. Their Sate Noodles was full of peanut sauce, the broth was so rich and smelled so good. The Shun Fa Noodles was great for people who love spice, as the spiciness made it so flavourful! The salad roll was not bad, but the lettuce could be cut into small pieces as it was kind of messy as we bit into it. Vietnamese iced coffee is my favourite kind of coffee, but I was quite disappointed with theirs. The quality of the coffee beans were mortifying, which led to a dull aftertaste and made the coffee tasted so bitter. read more

Overall food is really good, I got the pho tai and my gf got the pho dac biet. Bowls are all one size so if you are really hungry id suggest getting extra noodles. Location however on maps is not updated the place is the next corner over. The other only thing I can see complaint wise would be that the seats are relatively close to each other so unless you get annoying people next to you its not enough to knock down stars. read more

We had plenty of time to before our flight took off and we were craving a pho spot so we decided on this one. I've been to many pho spots and this one wasn't as good as I thought it would be. It was ok, nothing special. We had the white chicken pho and they didn't have sriracha in their caddy at the table. So we were thinking they just didn't have it until after when we were leaving we saw it on someone else's table. I don't understand why they didn't just have it available at the table to begin with and only had the chili garlic sauce as an option. The staff was decent and we didn't get phenomenal service. There were only 2 other tables with people and then us. They only had two restroom stalls available in the women's restroom. The place still looks new and the decor was nice and modern. Found this yummy place on Yelp because we were staying at a hotel nearby waiting for a flight. They immediately brought us complimentary tea. The portions were huge. I was super happy to see a second location for Pho 37. Their other location is too far for me to visit often. I must say the food here is even better! The space is larger as well. My go to is the satay pho (5/5 - $10.95). It is soooo good. Instead of getting the beef lu lac this time I got their banh mi and it is pricier than some places in Vancouver but it is by far THE BEST banh mi I've had. I got the grilled pork by the way (5/5 - $5.95). Service is a bit slower here and their English can be hard to understand sometimes. I'm happy to see that they continue the tradition of taking credit cards (considering it's in Richmond, most places only accept cash). read more

I eat a lot of pho and this is one of my favorites. Their Ironwood location is always very busy so I'm super happy they opened this second location in Union Square. They're less busy and service is always great and attentive every time. Their broth for the regular pho is sweeter and taste more authentic than other places. But #40 on the menu!! The broth is gingery and the meats are deliciously smoked and so tender. The fish sauce chicken wings are really good and are a must get for us every time. It's an essential part of Vancity without us realizing. And here at Pho 37, it is becoming a favourite of mine as of late. What makes their special beef pho a delight is their soup. Advertised as no msg the broth is clear with a deep beefy taste. Their noodles are cooked to perfection that are not too al dente or soft. The beef quality is good and offers a good selection of meats. And if you are the bun bo hue type of person, but at the same time crave that special beef soup, I suggest you put on some of their chili oil. It is not just your pepper chili, but it also has a hint of what is dried shrimp. My guess here, but the chili oil is quite unique and pairs so well with the soup!
