The grilled pork was smoky and very flavorful The service really stood out as well. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and helpful without being overbearing. Let me start off by saying I do not particularly like Vietnamese Pho. Came here because it was recommended by many of my foodie acquaintances. FYI: We eat family style. P1 House Special Pho with Short Rib: Broth was delicious and may have won me over to Vietnamese Pho. It was rich in flavor and a flavor explosion. I literally just added lime and chili oil. It did not need the Fish Sauce, Soy Sauce, and all the other ingredients people usually add. The noodles were falling apart so either they were old noodles (over soaked) or over cooked. The rib was cooked perfect. The meat melted in your mouth. The only thing I would have perfered is that the membrane should have been removed prior to cooking. The elastic from the membrane took away from the tenderness of the rib meat. I rate this 4 out of 5 even though due to the noodles and membrane. The reason this is not getting a 3 out of 5 is due to the richness of the broth. It was mind blowing. P3 Seafood Pho: Same as the Short Rib Pho. Broth was delicious, noodles were falling apart, and the seafood was not overcooked, which is a plus for me. One thing I don't like is overcooked seafood. I rate this 4 out of 5. Reason I'm not giving 5 out of 5 is due to the noodles falling apart. R1 Garlic Fried Rice: Rice was perfectly cooked and "fried". The crunch from the golden garlic added to the experience and added a pop of flavor. The only knock is that it needed salt or MSG. I added soy sauce and the flavor came out. However, the soy sauce changed the flavor profile. I rate this 4 out of 5 due to having to add some kind of "salt." However, please don't misunderstand, it was delicious. F1 Fresh Grilled Pork Spring Roles: These left me speechless. They were delicious! Perfectly cooked and seasoned. Did not need to add anything. They were delicious on their own. While I'm writing this I want to go back and get more. I rate these 5 out of 5 C2 Fish Sauce Fried Chicken Wings: They were cooked to perfection. Beautiful crunch and golden brown. Unfortunately, they were over salted and unedible. They were extremely sweet as well. I rate this 1 out 5 due to that I could not eat them. Customer Service: Over all it was great. Servers were polite, servers smiled a lot, and looked professional. I think where it struggled was when we went they had a large table of like 20 guests. Under the circumstance they were under staffed. I never got my soda, we did not get water refills, and I had to get up and go to an empty table and get my own chile oil. However, when going to these type of restaurants it kind of normal to have to do things on your own. Example: The to-go containers were on a table and when asked for some, you were directed to get them on your own. I would say the servers did work very slow so maybe if they worked faster they being understaffed might have not been felt so much. I rate this 3 of 5 due to being thirsty while dining in. Bathroom: was clean and everything was in stock. Restaurant Cleanliness: Over all, clean except the floor. The floor had several straggling pieces of trash. I contribute this due to that they use your typical "Asian" brooms that do not do a good job sweeping. They leave several stragglers. I witnessed a server sweeping over and over and she eventually gave up and left trash behind. This is an easy fix, get a better broom. Over rating: 3 out 5 Too many small things created a big issue. Although, these are easy fixes and this place has potential to be 4 out of 5. Don't let the rating scare you away this place is still better than most places in Tulare County. The service sucks!!! We order 2 bowls of pho, spring rolls fries and vermicelli salad bowl. Waiting until we got all of our food then we had to ask for utensils and veggies for the soup. The only thing they lacked was the peanut sauce which was really watery not my fav the pork grilled spring rolls were amazing but the peanut sauce made the flavor go down would not recommend other than that. Pho was delicious! Maybe the second best in Visalia Fresno area. It's light and clear broth is perfect. They were generous with the meat, noodles and the sauces. The service was good, and the food came out very quickly. Bonus: The decorations and remodel work is nice. read more
