    Banh Xeo

Tried Pho 63 today. It was aight. The location looks hopeful though. Lots of parking and a sign that indicates a potential food truck park. Banh Xeo ($13) only has three shrimps and three pieces of pork. Two pieces of lettuce. It was crispy and thin; not crunchy and thick if you know what I mean. Bo Kho ($13) we got with bread. Ive been looking for thicker bo Kho for awhile and thought I found it but turns out it's still quite powdery. Had about five pieces of beef shank and tendon. Banh Mi Dac Biet ($7) was also okay. It was large and had pate but I'm looking for a creamier mix of pate with Vietnamese butter. But if you're a fan of straight pate it definitely had a good amount on it. Only had one piece of jalapeno. They have a "culture" menu which has the traditional harder to find items, and then a "classics" menu. Maybe next time I'll try something else but overall, I believe they are rationing the portion a bit much for the price and the competition within the area. They are literally across the street from MT market where Fresh Tofu, Lily's, Bep Co Tham.

Located on Kramer, right in front of the MT Supermarket plaza, Pho 63 is a promising looking food truck situated alongside an outdoor deck with plenty of seating. There is an adjacent empty lot with ample room for parking. I went during the soft opening and I will say the menu is pretty extensive. The woman running the cashier was very personable and helpful; we ended up ordering quite a number of dishes. The egg rolls were pretty standard. It came with a sweet chili sauce, although I would've much preferred it with fish sauce. The banh mi was sizable. It had a ton of filling, but the bread was unimpressive as it had no outer crunch or toast to it. The fish sauce wings could've used more fish sauce and spice. The banh xeo was a hefty portion and included pork and shrimp. The shrimp tails were left on, but the amount of leaves and herbs that accompanied it were plentiful. Others mentioned their banh xeo being crispy, but mine was the complete opposite. The combination pho was comforting, but didn't stand out compared to other pho options in Austin. I also had a Vietnamese coffee to round out the whole meal. Again, I think this food truck has promise, but it under-delivered for me.

Got ubereats from here and loved it!! I got the the chicken pho and the chicken wings and they were so yummy!! The broth in the pho was really yummy and came with lots of chicken, I wish I had gotten extra broth! The chicken wings were good too but I wish there was more sauce on them instead of a more dry seasoning

Score: 3.75 of 5 stars. Terribly hot 95+*F 3pm summer day. 3 to 4 massive fans. Tiny helicopter fans to keep flies away. 1. BBH Bún Bò Huế: Tons of lemongrass. Most tasty. 2. Bánh Mì Đặc Biệt extra veg: Little meat. Below average. So much better when dipped in BBH bone broth (au jus style). Conclusion: Just full. Not stuffed. - drank all BBH broth. several noodle strands remain. - took half of Banh Mi home.

I came here to get some lunch and was very impressed with this spot. There is plenty of parking and seating at this food truck, it honestly feels more like a restaurant. When I ate here it was humid out and the owner noticed that I was getting warm while eating my bun bo hue and turned on one of their big fans for me which was super kind. I originally thought I was going to get pho but ended up getting the bun bo hue instead and really enjoyed it! If you are debating trying it, definitely get it. The seating area was very clean and cute and the service was great :) I will be back!

Grilled pork and chicken vermicelli bowl, good!

Since I pass by this new place on my way home regularly I kept telling myself "I need to try this place out". Today I did and happy to report that we will be repeat visitors. First of all the kitchen is a newer food truck/portable but it's physically attached to a large dining area (very large) with tables, chairs, etc. Place was very clean and organized. Menus are on paper accompanied by a large TV screen showing menu items and photos of food. There is also a chalkboard near where you order your food. Selection was very good and we saw several dishes on the menu that we don't always see in other area Vietnamese restaurants. I had the Vermicelli bowl combo (shrimp/chicken/grilled pork) but I'm allergic to shrimp so, minus the shrimp. You're given a beeper and soon enough you get your call to dinner. My only minor (really minor) complaint is everything is served in plastic bowls, forks/knives, etc., and I'd prefer to a) not have my food on something you throw into a landfill, and since there are tables/chairs, b) prefer regular bowls and condiments, etc. The food was hot and tasty. Lots of chicken and pork, they didn't skimp here! The fish sauce was very tasty and the hot sauce right on. There was a good balance of noodles and greens and meat in the dish so spot on there again. All in all, we were very happy to have this new Vietnamese restaurant in the neighborhood and will likely become regular patrons!

Everything I received here was lackluster. I love Vietnamese food so much, even to the point of preparing a few dishes myself and frequenting many restaurants throughout Austin. However, this is my first time trying Pho 63 and likely my last. I should have read the reviews here before ordering because I noticed a lot of similarities. One thing I love about Vietnamese cuisine is the freshness aspect of the dishes-- which were sorely missing in my vermicelli bowls and spring rolls. Herbs were missing: no basil, no mint or cilantro and it really was a glaring omission in both dishes. Not much flavor in the pork or shrimp that were in both dishes either. I don't think the noodles were rice noodles so the texture was off for me. These were also were served hot instead of chilled and the dishes lacking flavor means I just ate around most of it. I did the same with spring rolls. Crab rangoons were served dark brown and hard, ate around that as well. Texture of the wrappers was flat and overly crunchy and almost burnt tasting. Peach Green Tea: I'm not sure if this is mostly juice of some sort, but there is hardly any peach or actual green tea flavor. If I wanted juice I would have ordered that. Meh. So disappointing.

Got the bun bo hue and banh mi. Bun bo hue was solid - they give you all the right fixins and the broth actually tasted like BBH broth. It's probably the best bowl of BBH you can get in Austin right now. All tables are in their outdoor patio, giving off that Vietnamese street food vibe. The owners were super nice, and the menu had a pretty wide variety of options. Will definitely be coming back to try more dishes, especially the banh xeo which seemed to be quite popular among the other diners today.

    Outside area and seating

The food is great. I had the Banh mi special, and it is bigger than I am usually used to, but it is very good. The people who served us are super friendly, helpful, and nice. There is plenty of parking in the back and side of the area, which is helpful for a big crowd. Very convenient

    sesame chicken with white rice

My third time and was very good again. However, the location is kinda off hidden which i think is the reasoning for it being slow during lunch. It could also be its a food trailer but they do have a cover patio and it's a little too warm for me. In any case I hope everyone gives them some support and tries this mom and pop place out.

Best Bun Bo Hue in Austin!

Just happened stop in and I'm glad I did. This is the best bowl of Bun Bo Hue I've had in Austin by far. I will be back to try more things.

First, the food was EXCEPTIONAL. I've been searching for 20 years to find this level of bagel in Austin and finally found it! Amazing selection, quality, fresh, perfect. Second, the service and related compassion was outstanding. This was a large last minute order and it went off without a hitch. They also made it easy for me to pickup -- as there was actually a LONG line to order. I came in side door and they were expecting me with open arms and fresh bagels. I was also impressed with their interest and effort in helping me get everything in my car. And FINALLY, they even said goodbye with the Jewish expression "may your mother's memory by a blessing." I was blown away by this consideration. They clearly understood the difficult circumstances, and the relevant phrases that can be quite healing, etc. This felt like more than just a "food order and pickup." I will make sure other people know this when under similar circumstances. And then more generally, if you need a good bagel, cream cheese, lox, whatever -- Rosen's has now made this an easy decision.

The bread was perfectly toasted, the ingredients tasted high-quality, and every bite was packed with flavor. The meats were generous, the toppings were well-balanced, and the sauces tied everything together without overpowering the sandwich. I love the green soft chairs, the tables, and the chef statue greeting you as you pull in front of the building. He's right there in the window. The bistro honestly takes your breath away. I love it! So in the last two weeks, I've been back exactly four times. My first introduction was the Croissant Scramble with chicken and veggies inside, with the Arnold Palmer. My friend got the Croissant Scramble with brisket. The presentation of the croissants when brought to the table blew me away. It was wrapped up in the cutest paper with the ends twisted. The topic of conversation was how good the croissants were. Before we left, we ordered some delicious cookies. The chocolate chips were yummy. So I went the following day and grabbed some pastries! One in particular was the Pecan Bar. The following week, another friend and I stopped in for the Chicken Pesto Omelet. I like that the fire-roasted bell peppers and onions are cooked, if that's the right word. But l have to tell you, the Mexican Hot Chocolate drink brings on the flavor, as does the ice-cold Mocha. Of course, we got the Pecan Bar for dessert. So yes, I went back yesterday for the Almond Croissant. I know, I know!

When I arrived, I was told the cake wasn't ready and was asked if I could come back the next morning--which obviously didn't work given the timing of the event. As a substitute, they offered me a pre-made cake from their display case and assured me it was chocolate like I originally ordered, just with a chocolate mousse filling. They refunded me $15 to account for the difference, and I felt pressured to accept since I needed something for the dinner that night. Unfortunately, the situation got worse from there. When we cut into the cake, it turned out to be confetti--not chocolate. Then, when we tried to eat it, it was clearly stale, dry, and inedible. No one touched it after the first bites. It completely missed the mark for what was supposed to be a special moment. What's especially frustrating is that I ordered from them last year for the same occasion, and everything went perfectly--that's why I trusted them again. This time, however, it was a complete letdown from start to finish. When I called the next day to request a refund, I asked to speak with a manager but was told that wasn't possible. Instead, I was told I would only be offered a partial refund because I accepted the replacement cake. I understand that mistakes happen, but the lack of accountability and quality here was really disappointing--especially for something as important as a birthday celebration.
