I unwrapped it but it was wrapped with such care!

So good! Was greeted by Demi and she took our order! Soroya & Edvin made my beautiful Bahn Mi Dac Biet with extra pate so good and wrapped it with such care. My friend got the roasted Brussels sprouts and they loved them too. It was a near perfect sandwich, perfect ratio of topping, fillings, pickled daikon, carrots and Jalapeño and a perfectly crispy but not too soft piece of bread. I would come back! Joyce was also working making sure everything was looking nice and tidy.

Banh Mi Oven is the best Banh Mi joint I've been to in Austin (so far)! I ordered the BBQ Pork Banh Mi and it hit the spot! Fresh, great portion, and fairly priced. The meat came out very juicy and served at the perfect temperature. They have a ton of other Asian appetizers and entrees, but I stuck to my favorite Banh Mi and was very pleased. Friendly service and a must try for Banh Mi lovers!

Just love their Banh mi sandwiches. The bread is fresh. The cilantro is fresh, the carrots are crisp, just love the flavor. I got one of the Charsiu Pork sandwich. Juicy meat, so much flavor. I think maybe the daikon makes the sandwich. Flavors just marry each other. Sandwiches are cut in half and wrapped separately.

Finally. I found a banh mi sandwich in this town. That reminds me of the ones I ate in San Francisco! Probably because the owner hails from The Bay Area too. Menu is big, lots of options, reasonably priced and the sammies are top notch. My first visit I tried a grilled pork and patè one with extra pickled daikon/carrots and extra cilantro. Great bread too! I'll be back for the pork belly or Char Siu and move on to a sardine or lemongrass tofu. Excited this is 3 minutes from home! Bonus is they wrap each half separately so you can easily share or make it two meals.

I got some mixed feelings about this place. My biggest concern is the cover photos on DoorDash and Yelp may not be the same banh mi that is offered. Mainly looking at the bread, the cover photos show very authentic Vietnamese banh mi bread with the glossy thin crispy baguette bread, what you get is a very much store bought like American hoagie bread. This being said onto the food we got for this review... We ordered the pork belly, grilled beef, and the Bánh Mì Nướng Muối Ớt aka Chili Bread. Pork belly was disappointing I think this is where you see comments about lacking enough meat. Taste was also just okay could have used some Maggi seasoning. The grilled beef was delicious and had strong lemongrass flavor. The star of the show was the Bánh Mì Nướng Muối Ớt, it was delicious and not too spicy and I do not know anywhere else in Austin where you can get this which makes this place unique. Also, they charge extra for pate which should be standard in banh mi. This place is good, the people are friendly but don't expect authentic Vietnamese banh mi. I would say the menu is fairly priced and you get a good amount of food.

Fun place! We did order to go so didn't get the full dine in experience- but the food was good! The meat flavor and toppings were good, I agree with some reviews that the meat was a little light on the pork belly specifically. Highly recommend the grilled beef bahn mi! That was the best I tried here. The service was fast and friendly. Ambiance was casual- similar to a boba tea shop. Good for a quick bahn mi fix!

I kept seeing Banh Mi Oven on the way to work and vowed to eventually try them. One day I got a $10 off $10 offer on my Cash App card on a restaurant, so I figured I'd give it a try. Loved it! Pretty much the perfect banh mi which so many Austin restaurants get wrong. On top of that, it looked like it was a husband and wife running the shop and the husband was super friendly, greeting everyone as they came in and making sure everyone was happy. Will definitely be back!

I'm sad to give three stars because the ambiance is 5/5, the owner working the cash register 5/5, but the Banh mi itself actually hurt me to eat. I'm writing this review 4 days after eating at banh mi oven and the roof of my mouth is still raw from how crispy the baguette was they used for my sandwich. The meat was excellent and so was the pate. I'm hopeful this was an accident that the sandwich bread was cooked too long because I wanted to rate this place much higher.

Very small dining area, good service, the food was ok, not as good as I expected. Got the pork belly banh mi. I expected more out of a $16 sandwich. It was fresh and flavorful but pretty skimpy on the portions of meat and veggies. May visit occasionally but it's not going to be a regular dining spot.

Good banh mi with lots of options, and a smooth takeout process. My husband and I were craving banh mi and have been wanting to try this place. He got fried miso brussels sprouts and a grilled pork banh mi (P1) with pate added. I got a shredded pork banh mi (P4) and vietnamese iced coffee, one of my weaknesses. Vietnamese iced coffee was great, not too sweet, with a robust dark coffee flavor. The shredded "fluffy" pork banh mi was good but had NOTHING on my husband's grilled pork w pate, which was amazing. The flavor of the shredded pork was good too, just much more dry. It would probably make a better option if you're saving for later, but if eating soon after ordering I would add extra mayo or sauce. The brussels were good, too. The pickup experience was so smooth and pleasant! I arrived right on time and was surprised at the cute interior. There was a couple ahead of me in line, so I settled in to wait, but the super smiley guy behind the counter spotted me and promptly found my order. He made my day!

Banh mi oven is pretty expensive as far as banh mis go for. But it's filling and it's delicious, so it's not the worst scenario. I also love how theres such a big variety of choices on the menu. But I wish they had some seating inside the restaurant.

I give my experience 3.5 but rounding to 4 for fresh food and fast service. The bread was the best I've had. The food grilled pork (Thit nuong) was good but they were VERY skimpy with the meat throughout (see pic) so it was hard to get the actual flavor. The pork belly and egg tasted like tamago. It was sweet and the egg overpowered the pork belly so I did not enjoy this one. The bacon cheese fries had liquid cheese on them (not queso). The best way to describe it is the cheese in a cauldron at Fuddruckers. The kind of cheese sauce that will never harden and always stay liquidy. Not too much bacon but they were fine. They were fresh. The bread was great so I think I'd try one more time and see if the skimpy meat filling was a fluke or their standard. Their prices are steep for a banh mi so I expect them to fill them with an appropriate amount.

Loro is an Asian smokehouse and bar featuring grilled and smoked meats with Southeast Asian and Japanese-inspired sauces, sides, and a bar that boasts craft beer, boozy slushees, and batch cocktails. Parking at this location is a bit of a challenge. They have overflow parking in the back but the spots are really small. We sat at the bar area and worked our way through cocktails, apps, and dessert. We opened a tab and the bar staff takes your order which is convenient, versus how you normally have to order by waiting in line at the bar. The bar staff was extremely busy because they have to make all the cocktails and take the line orders at the bar. They are a master of multitasking. It was $3 martini night on Tuesday, so was excited to sample the four different drink options. lychee martini, Mexican martini, and Lucky Cat cosmo martini. Lychee martini is made with new amsterdam vodka, sake, elderflower, Mexican martini with espolon blanco, olive, yuzu, lime and cosmo with vodka, blood orange, naranja, lime. The lychee was hands down my favorite of the three. We started with the Dip Sampler that included a trifecta of smoked shishito queso, smoked salmon dip and Thai green salsa with the Siete blue corn tortilla chips. We went through the chips quickly and got a second round of wonton chips which I preferred to the Siete chips. Tried the Mango Chamoy frozen Slushee with Siete Chamoy Botana Sauce & Siete Chile Lime Seasoning Rim, passionfruit, Aperol, Sake and Sparkling Wine which was refreshing. All their boozy slushies are $5 during happy hour. Ordered the oak grilled edamame from the happy hour menu and it was a flavor explosion with a dusting of serracha powder, lemon zest and white sesame. For dinner, I ordered my go-to rice bowl with coconut-scented rice, seasonal pickles, thai herbs and steak as the protein. They normally served this with Bavette, but the steak was a bit tough and chewy this time. Finished everything off with cheesecake with five spice crumble, yuzu marmalade for dessert. The vibe at the bar was relaxed and lively without feeling overwhelming, and the collab menu felt creative without trying too hard. The ingredients are very thoughtful for a fully developed flavor profile. Just what I would expect from the culinary minds of Tyson Cole and Aaron Franklin. Definitely one of the regulars in my list when craving good cocktails with a casual but elevated food menu.

We came here for a small late lunch during a hot day and this place checked all the boxes. Plenty of seating options and we loved the AC. Both high chairs and booster seats available for kids. The char siew pork belly was very good. Nothing like barbecue pork belly or asian char siew, but somehow they made it work. Chicken karaage was what you would expect, similar to what you get at Japanese places. Portions are big. The sesame rice noodles were highly reviewed but kinda underwhelming. Sauce was surprisingly spicy and the sesame flavor wasn't super obvious. We also tried the rendang beans and rice, which was a creative spin. I enjoyed the curried beans with the fragrant coconut rice. Nice spot to rest, relax, enjoy a meal and drinks. Enjoyed our experience.

Food - I had the escolar, unagi, and scallop hand rolls (all under $5 each) and was so surprised by the quality / freshness of the protein and the portions given. The escolar was so soft and buttery. I then ordered the shrimp fresh roll (also under $5, it was HUGE) and the chicken katsu baos (around $6-7) - they were amazing. The chicken tenders are panko crusted and fried crispy. BF tried the steak baos and LOVED them too. Okay also did I mention the PRICES?! You can't get quality food like that for a greater deal. Chef Ling is a brilliant and personable chef who treats her chefs and staff like family. Several different chefs prepared each course, and the presentation was well beyond what we expected, both visually stunning and thoughtfully composed. From the moment we walked into Ling Kitchen, the energy felt warm and intentional. The space is intimate without feeling cramped, and you immediately sense that you are about to be part of something special rather than just another dinner reservation. Chef Ling personally welcomed guests, shared the story behind the menu, and checked in throughout the evening in a way that felt genuine and never forced. Each course built on the last, with a clear progression of flavors and textures. The fish was impeccably fresh, the knife work precise, and the seasoning balanced to highlight the natural ingredients rather than overpower them. You could see the coordination among the team as different chefs stepped forward to prepare and present their dishes. It truly felt collaborative, like a small culinary orchestra. What stood out most was the creativity. Traditional techniques were honored, but there were subtle twists and unexpected combinations that kept us curious and engaged. Every plate was composed like art. The pacing was perfect, allowing time to savor each bite and appreciate the craftsmanship. Beyond the food, the hospitality elevated the entire experience. The staff was knowledgeable, attentive, and clearly proud to be part of the team. That family atmosphere Chef Ling fosters is palpable and makes the evening feel personal. If you are in Austin and looking for a memorable omakase that rivals experiences in much larger food cities, Ling Kitchen is a must. This is not just dinner, it is a curated, immersive experience. For $150/head you get solid Chinese food, with nice presentation. Once you consider the $150 price point for the meal, paying simply for presentation is not enough, especially if you consider other restaurants competing at this price point. None of the dishes had any real flavor innovations past the traditional taste. You would be able to get a larger version of most dishes, with similar quality in Houston for $20. Not much innovation on the flavors for the palate, but the food had very cute visuals. Service was nice, and the Chef's energy was infectious!

The food here is genuine Taiwanese and you can get some traditional breakfast treats as well as some really tasty baos and dumplings. Dropped in for some breakfast but definitely will come back try try more things. * Tofu hua - which is a soft tofu. We got this two ways. Sweet which surprisingly has a slightly gritty texture for the sugar - usually this is a ginger infused sugar syrup. We also tried the savory one with wood ear mushrooms and other umami goodness. * we got some fried stuff pancakes too - one with shredded daikon and one with chives and eggs. Both were good. * sesame bread sandwich with braised beef. Tasty but I really wanted some cilantro to add brightness. We took several baos to go to try and they heated up well.

While a few items were hit or miss, the overall experience is a solid 4/5, especially considering how hard it is to find authentic northern Chinese food in the area. The dumplings really stood out, perfectly crispy on the outside, with juicy and flavorful filling inside. They also offer a selection of frozen dumplings/ buns. However, when we went there, they told us many of the dishes on the online menu were no longer served, due to recent change in ownership. So no, they didn't have Bánh Xèo or many other items anymore. I'm not sure if they have added items back yet. But if you want certain items, I'd recommend calling ahead. I got their hot stone filet mignon rice noodles. This dish was served by a heated stone bowl with broth. On the side were two plates: one with bean sprouts, Thai basil, and jalapeño slices - the classic trio, and the other with filet mignon, rice noodles, and veggies. I was supposed to add ingredients to the bowl to cook them. Since the stone bowl was already full of broth, I had to ask for an extra bowl for me to scoop out some broth to get some space for other ingredients. That was fine, but the stone bowl was extremely hot, so I ended up overcooking both the meat and rice noodles... Their stone bowl rice noodles is from $30 -$45. Given the price and experience, I wouldn't come back.
