Le Bleu is always a go-to for my family when we go out to dinner. The service is great, the prices are reasonable, and they are so consistent. The grilled pork bun is my favorite with fried egg rolls added. There is almost never a wait and I can always depend on getting great service.

Excellent Vietnamese restaurant in North Austin. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The wicker lampshades are a great touch to the ceiling lights.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Everything was delicious with exceptional service. We hope to be back soon to try the Ube Tiramisu and Crème Brûlée. They were out when we arrived an hour before closing. Both sound amazing!

A friend and I started getting Le Bleu's banh mi as takeout pretty regularly while covid restrictions were just starting to ease up, and I always thought they were good (not traditional and slightly expensive, but yummy) but that was all I'd ever ordered, and now I'm kind of kicking myself. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I needed a place that could accommodate about 12 people on a Wed night that would also be good for a bunch of different diets and wouldn't be super noisy inside, and when I called, they said they could definitely do a reservation for us, so FYI, they're great for a larger group![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The decor is beautiful and welcoming, and our server was really sweet.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I got their shaken steak bun, and was given a huge portion that was generous on the rice noodles and the protein, with lots of herbs as well, and the sauce was well-balanced. It also comes with two egg rolls on top, so that was even more filling, although I probably would have preferred them whole and not sliced down the middle. The steak marinade was absolutely delicious, so I'll definitely be getting that again. Based on the feedback I got, everyone else was a fan as well, even those who had never had Vietnamese food before and were a little bit apprehensive about it being out of their comfort zones.

I dined in on New Years Day, so the restaurant wasn't too busy. I ordered the Spicy Chicken Bánh Mì sandwich. The sandwich arrived hot and neatly prepared. The waitress was polite and friendly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant was clean, and the place had some really interesting light fixtures hanging from the ceiling.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I could see this being a go to spot for Bánh Mì sandwiches if I lived nearby.

So, I've been desperately on the search for places that have a delicious traditional banh mi. I have to say that this little shop has a pretty good one. I was missing some of the classic flavor from the seasoning sauce and butter mayo, also the pickled veggies were definitely not pickled enough. Things I did like... the bread, the amount of paté, the flavor of the meats... it could be a really great sandwich! The pho was delicious, but they don't use the typical noodles which is a little disappointing and they were overcooked and falling apart. The broth was flavorful and there was a decent amount of meat in it. I got a cafe sua da, but it was not great (I don't care for when restaurants use Cafe Du Monde coffee in them). [[HIGHLIGHT]]This is a beautiful restaurant, very cozy inside and the wait staff was very nice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I will definitely be giving them another try.

Came here for crawfish (my latest obsession) and I had such a good experience! The crawfish here is more similar to a backyard crawfish boil experience than it is to Boiling Crab in that the crawfish isn't wet and saucy. Even without sauce though, the crawfish was plenty flavorful. I was a bit nervous that they didn't offer different spice levels but it turns out, they know what they're doing and the spice level was perfect.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]What a cute little place![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I had no idea all these years it's been here. My friend wanted to meet here because she said the banh mi was pretty good and I was skeptical because I haven't really heard of a good banhmi place in Austin. I have my faves in Houston only. But I was willing to try. I met her there and the hostess was so sweet and kind. I took a second look and swore I knew her and then I realized it's my son's HS friend lol no wonder ha but she seriously is the best hostess waitress Violet :) attentive sweet accommodating kind lol [[HIGHLIGHT]]This place is cute and clean. Little hole n the wall.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Would not have stumbled upon it. I wanted to try other things but since my friend said the banh mi was good I stuck to it. She got the bbq one but I always prefer traditional. And got spring rolls too. The price is a bit high because I am used to Houston banh mi prices but when I took a bite it was worth it. It was very tasty and I loved the bread texture which is so important in a good banhmi. The bread was perfect. The ingredients fresh. I didn't want cilantros but it was added and it was ok. I took it out. I felt the pate was a bit much and it was a bit saltier than my liking but it was still tasty and the bread alone was perfectly done. I enjoyed the spring rolls too. Very fresh and the peanut sauce tasty. I enjoyed the whole lunch experience. My only criticism was the price point. A bit high but nowadays everything is high. It's worth a visit. Cute lunch place. Especially if you aren't too hungry and wanted a yummy snack :) It's located in the strip mall behind chilis and Kung fu tea around the corner. Definitely easy access location. Now I know where Le Bleu is!

The staff here is absolutely fantastic. All the hosts and servers were extremely friendly, kind, and attentive. I came here for lunch today and I ordered the spicy chicken banh mi and the chicken nuggets.

    Fork for size reference
    Dana A.

Did an order for pick up and was shocked by the size of a few items for the price. The spring rolls were tiny for $9 and the peanut sauce was more like peanut butter than sauce. The shrimp skewers also tiny. The bahn mi was good and the mango salad was a good size, so not a total bust. I've dined in before and loved my experience. Still willing to come back, would need to be more selective next time.

The restaurant ambiance is cute and has vibes. They do have cocktails here & a happy hour. We came by to just get a Banh Mi because my husband was wanting something fast and small after another dinner we had. The service was great - fast and pretty quick. giving 3 stars because the banh mi was $12.. and didn't come with anything else. Super disappointed at pricing for what you get. Husband said the banh mi was good but Houston banh mi is still better. After several different asian meals we've had in Austin... Austin is not the spot for asian food compared to Houston food. If you've never had Houston asian food, I would say this place is probably the best banh mi in Austin.

Lunch : Friendly atmosphere with both tables and booth options. The service was great as well. We had the pork egg rolls, the Brussels sprouts, beef pho and OG bánh mì. Everything was really tasty. My favorite was the OG bánh mì. The pho had too many green herbs and not enough noodles this time around. I ended up picking some of the herbs out. Still very tasty though.

After landing in San Antonio yesterday to kick off my summer vacation, the very first thing I did…read moretoday was ask my friend to bring me back to this restaurant. The reason is simple: we ate here two years ago, and it left such a great impression on us that we had been looking forward to coming back ever since. Fortunately, not much has changed in terms of either the quality or the overall presentation of the food. Everything is still delicious, especially the Pho Combo. To be honest, it's far better than most of the pho we've had in Germany. That doesn't mean the pho in Germany is bad--it simply means this place matches my personal taste much better. As for the downsides, they're almost exactly the same as before. Parking is still a major challenge, and I understand that's probably not something the restaurant can easily fix. We also tried calling ahead to reserve a table, but they don't take reservations, whether you're coming with a group of 5-7 people or just 2-3 people. We arrived at 6:45 PM and still had to wait about 40 minutes before being seated, which was honestly quite inconvenient. Coincidentally, there was live music tonight, which was a nice surprise. Unfortunately, the sound system wasn't very good, so it was difficult to hear what the singers were performing. Then again, this isn't really the type of venue where people come specifically to enjoy live music, so most diners didn't seem to pay much attention to it. One thing I did notice was that either the kitchen has made a few changes over the past two years, or perhaps my own taste has changed a little. The food felt slightly saltier than I remembered, and the pho broth was richer and creamier. While that added some depth of flavor, it was a bit too rich for my liking, to the point where finishing the entire bowl of broth felt a little overwhelming. The braised short ribs were incredibly tender--so tender that a knife was almost unnecessary, and they could easily be pulled apart with just a fork. While many people would probably see that as a positive, I actually missed the slightly firmer, meatier texture I remembered from my last visit. That said, these are relatively minor issues. The quality may have dipped just a little compared to our previous visit, but this is still an excellent restaurant. If they can fine-tune those small details, it would easily return to being one of my favorite places. There's a good chance we'll stop by one more time before heading back to Germany.

Is it that time of year for another 1618 update? Absolutely…read more After my umpteenth visit, I think it's safe to say I've worked my way through almost the entire menu (minus a few noodle, chicken & vegetarian dishes). My 2025 review still stands, but after so many visits, I've noticed a few items haven't been good as they used to, particularly the chicken wings (and yes, all three of them). The Garlic Wings haven't been hitting quite the same. They've started to taste a little dry, and the saucier wings taste better the next day since they don't have time to steep through once served. The Filet Mignon Pepper Steak is still my favorite dish on the menu, but I still can't justify ordering it family-style anymore. It's delicious, but the portion just doesn't match the price. One of the newest additions--the Truffle Fried Rice is spectacular. It's light, not overpowering with truffle, and the fish eggs really adds the perfect little pop of texture/flavor. I don't think I breathed the entire time I scarfed it down!! 1618 is still one of my favorite restaurants in Austin of all time, but I think it's time for the menu to elevate a bit and dive deeper into less mainstream Asian cuisine. If anyone can do it, 1618 can.

The…read moreThai basil leaves were absolutely ginormous, and they gave us plenty of them alongside very fresh limes, which I appreciated. The bowl itself came loaded with meat--they definitely weren't skimping to save money here. The meat-to-noodle ratio felt great, and every bite actually had substance instead of leaving me fishing around for toppings. As for the broth, I landed somewhere in the middle. It wasn't quite as clear or light as I personally prefer, leaning toward a fattier, milkier undertone that almost reminded me of a Vietnamese pho take on tonkotsu. The flavor itself was undeniably very good, but the richness may have been a bit too much for me personally. One way I usually judge how much I love a pho broth is whether I want to sip the bowl down to the very end, and this one wasn't quite light enough for me to want to do that. I've had richer and deeper pho flavors elsewhere, but I still appreciated the flavor profile here and could absolutely see why this place is so popular. It feels hearty, comforting, and satisfying in a way that clearly resonates with many people. Despite how packed the restaurant was, the atmosphere ended up being surprisingly pleasant. Service moved very quickly, which honestly impressed me given how busy everything felt. Even with the crowd, I didn't dislike the spacing or setup at all--the restaurant still felt comfortable, and the sound of people enjoying their food all around added to the lively, welcoming energy rather than making it feel overwhelming. Overall, Pho Phong Lưu ended up being one of those places where I completely understood the hype, even if it didn't become my personal favorite pho spot. While the broth leaned richer than my preference, I still enjoyed the experience and definitely look forward to trying other dishes next time.

It came with two runny side up eggs, pate, two types of cured pork, beef gravy, and a handful of cilantro. The baguette came on the side, as did the mixed salad of lettuce and tomato. And honestly it's better than any fancy restaurant out there. I love the amount of plants in the space and the TV plays cooking videos and it's so nice to watch while waiting for your food! Speaking of waiting for your food, the food comes out super quick! Within 1 minute of ordering my drink, it came out! And a couple minutes after follows the food. The service is amazing as well, the servers are super sweet and are very quick to serve you and get what you need. The menu offers a bunch of things, appetizers, main dishes, desserts, and the drinks! I love how the desserts and drinks are also Vietnamese (most of the time I notice restaurants tend to have the basic selection of fountain drinks and desserts, but this restaurant has a wide variety of drinks and desserts so you can try something new every time you come here!) Most of all, there's a bunch of vegan dishes which I absolutely love. The food is always delicious I've been trying the vegan dishes recently and I love them a lot (as someone who doesn't like vegan dishes normally)! The chicken pho is also so delicious it tastes better than I make it at home! So much flavor. The drinks are so good as well. They also give you a big portion and I normally have leftovers, but the portion size is amazing for the price that you pay. It's definitely more affordable and such a bang for your buck. This is definitely a spot to try and trust me, you'll probably fall in love! If I was an Austin tourist I would definitely hit up this restaurant. I could go on and on about this restaurant.

The server kept walking back and forth between our 2 tables and kept bumping into my chair/bag which was really annoying me. Other than that, I'd just like to point out that their prices are on the higher side for Viet food. It gave bougie Viet food vibes from the prices, which I thought was unreasonable since the ambiance wasn't anything special or over the top. Probably wouldn't come back unless I was craving their calamari.
