Pho broth was clear and not oily, somewhat on the sweet side at first, but with a touch of lime, the broth was nicely balanced. Great value . I did not come away hungry. Amazing food located in a small family owned store. We got the spring rolls, summer rolls, chicken with spring rolls and cold noodle, chicken pho, beef pho, and chicken banh mi. Spring rolls: Delicious! Crispy on the outside yet juicy on the inside. It has an amazingly rich meaty flavor. The sauce adds umami and sweetness, while the lettuce and cucumber adds freshness and an extra crunch. Chicken with spring rolls and cold noodles: same as the above with the added bonus of noodles and chicken! A large amount of toppings for the bowl. It was amazing as well. Chicken Banh mi: Bread is perfectly fluffy yet crisp on the outside. It was filled with lots of chicken and pate. The mayonnaise added creaminess and there was a kick of spiciness. Summer rolls: Includes shrimp and chicken. Came with the peanut sauce. Pretty standard. Chicken pho: The broth is light and has fried garlic bits that add depth of flavor and new textures to the dish. The chicken is tender and the noodles were cooked perfectly. Beef pho: The broth has a deeper flavor. The beef slices were on the thicker side. Again, everything was cooked perfectly. The pho came with beansprouts, basil, jalepenos, and two lime wedges. The owner is AMAZING. We came 30min before closing and they seated us and served us immediately. He also gave us directions to go back to our hotel all the way in Kona and gave us free water and candy to take with us. He is so nice and is one of my favorite people. It's SOO difficult to find authentic Asian food here in big island. Everything seems to be Asian fusion with American. This pho place was so amazing though! I've eaten here twice this week and it might be my new favorite pho spot. This place has only been open in Hilo for two weeks, occupying the former Somsamai Thai restaurant location, but they seem to have a steady stream of diners and take away orders. First visit I tried their beef stew pho aka Bo Kho. I never had this dish before but it was really tasty and the portion was huge. Lots of generous beef chunks and the broth had an interesting flavor that is a lot different than pho. Today I tried the regular beef pho and it was also very good. Plenty slices of beef and noodles with a very large bowl. The broth was as good as the pho I've had in Vietnam and I like how they use plenty of cilantro on top. The noodle salads they were preparing were huge with plenty of fresh vegetables and herbs. I will have to try that next! read more

Soooo pho ken good, got the beef pho with extra beef, added my usual hoisin and Saracha sauces, and a fat lime wedge, no basil leafs for me, I ordered to go, broth was still super hot when I got back to the hotel, and was able to cook the raw beef, there was plenty of beef, and the beef taste great, the broth, let's talk about the broth, I have a few places that I absolutely love in Nor Cal, and this broth blew them out of the water, I finished every last drop which I don't normally do anywhere, the flavor is amazing, it's a little bit hidden, but not hard to find, so yourself a favor and check this place out if you like pho!
