I come here every so often while I'm in town. I usually order their cold noodle selections. I love the sauce. Vinegary and a hint of patis. Take-out usually takes about 5-10 minutes. Ordered their House Special Crispy Noodles at $17.99 for takeout. This is what I received. The noodles were not crispy since they placed the vegetables and sauce on the noodles in one container. So it was essentially just an order of fried noodles which is priced at $13.99. To make it worse, it was unremarkable in taste. Both plates were so flavorful and loaded with lots of fried garlic. Definitely would visit again. We shared an order of summer rolls. This was ok. Oh, and let's say you are in a hurry or want to take your food home to eat it..... there is a take out window, too! My friend and I ordered the fish fried rice, the lemon chicken and the string beans. Everything was flavorful and delicious. The chicken was crispy, the string beans were fresh and the fried rice had just enough salt. The ambiance leaves a little to be desired, but I don't think anyone comes in here for the ambiance. This home-style restaurant has a great location. It's a few minutes from downtown Hilo and so convenient! The parking here is safe and plentiful. Upon arrival, the staff is so very friendly. You are immediately greeted and seated. The food here is all very tasty, fresh, and served with love. I always have the Seafood Crispy Noodle with the Minced Chicken Lettuce Cups. These are a must-have in my humble opinion. Also their fried rolls are so hot, crispy. The sauce is spot-on as well!!! If you'd rather have rice, try the Pork Chop, the chop is thin and well seasoned with lemongrass and spices. From the Chinese side, try the Young Tofu with mushroom and ground pork. The tofu is soft and silky and the gravy has a nice flavor. They also have a wide variety of stir-fries, vegetarian options, and dishes with noodles (chow funn, chow mien, rice noodle, and cake noodle). There is no sign on the exterior--that was stolen years ago--casual indoor and outdoor dinning, or takeout. Only THREE shrimps and was covered with all chopped onions and sauce!!!! I had to drive all the way back to show them. The guy nonchalantly took the container to put more shrimp in. No apologies or acknowledgement. I told him no, I dont want more shrimp, I already wasted gas to come back and go back. I want a refund.
