Passing through on our way from Texas to California. I was happy to see that they have a vegetarian menu. Had the "beef" vermicelli, which was very good. Boyfriend enjoyed his rice dish as well. I get the feel that care and effort is taken when making their food. Servers appear grungy and laid back in attire, but were polite, charming, and humorous; thus service was great, haha. I am from San Diego, California and i'm very skeptical about eating pho outside of SD since san diego has lots of authentic Pho restaurants. I recently went here for lunch with peeps from work. Not a bad place probably the same as all other Vietnamese places I've been in the states. Good veggie options as well for Las Cruces. I had the tofu curry which was quite mild and tasted like a Thai yellow curry to me. It was good but not what I was expecting but I am no expert in Vietnamese cuisine. I have not tried their pho yet so I can't speak for it yet (but likely it will not compare to the pho of pho huang in TO). They have a huge menu so it will take a long time to try everything. Hopefully the more I try will allow me to evaluate them more effectively. read more

One of the best Vietnamese restaurants I have ever eaten at in my life they make a very good pho noodle soup and an awesome pork chops with rice. This place has a very nice staff along with very clean facilities, the thing I was most impressed with was how good there water tasted compared to all the restaurants in the city of Las Cruces. I used grub hub to place an order at around 7:14 - which was when I got my confirmation text that the kitchen was preparing my order. They said it would be delivered between 8:05-8:15pm. I got another text at 7:40pm saying my order was canceled and a phone call at the same time explaining that they "ran out of many key ingredients" and were canceling my order. Maybe don't take thirty minutes to do it? Almost all the other restaurants were already closed for the night thanks a lot!!! I thought the fun was over, but NOOOOO.... After I ate food from another restaurant and was settled in to do some online shopping I found out my credit card had been locked for suspicious activity because of the 5 CHARGES that they had put off and on my account. This was once my favorite place for Vietnamese comfort food in Las Cruces but this visit has definitely changed that. The individual that served us, if that could have even been called "service", was abrasive and rude. As soon as we walked in we were shown a table that was dirty, which the server proceeded to "clean" by using the menu to flick off what was on the table. While waiting for our order we were treated to the same server screaming to the staff in the back numerous times while generally ignoring customers in favor of watching the television. Anytime the server was asked for anything they acted as if we were lucky that we were even being helped by them, going so far as to tell other customers to get their own condiments. I will say the food was decent but it definitely didn't make up for the awful service and uncomfortable atmosphere. If I ever return to this establishment it will be after they have had a much needed change in their staff. read more

I don't know where some of these reviews are coming from because we had a party of three and the place was about half packed in the first room. Didn't seem like the second room was used at all. We were seated right away and given a few min to review the menu and then ordered. Food came within 15min. Very nice guy helped us and I noticed he was doing it all. Seating, taking orders, serving food, cleaning up and running the register. He was amazing. The broth in their Pho was flavorful and fixings were fresh. The egg rolls were on the greasy side and not much flavor. Others had Egg noodle soup and fried rice with beef. They really enjoyed their food as well!! I guess everyone has their own personalities and sometimes wait times can be challenging but give this place a try...you won't be disappointed with the food and will be well worth the wait...and if the server rubs you the wrong way, life is too short. The pho here is very flavorful and tasty. When we go to Pho A Dong, we always get the pho. I could eat it plain without the hoisin, sriracha, sprouts, lime, and thai basil/cilantro that is offered but, mostly because I like it spicy, I generally add everything and enjoy. I seriously made a Yelp account just to review this place. Now don't get me wrong, the food was excellent but that is not what I am here to talk about. The service was absolutely TERRIBLE. I had come here for Valentines Day with my girlfriend and the woman who was doing service was on her phone the entire time, shouting about her personal life and playing loud music. We even heard a personal conversation that she was on about her divorce. THATS HOW LOUD SHE WAS TALKING. When we had been sat, she did not even ask what we wanted to drink she just got glasses of water and put them on our table without saying a single word. We never even got greeted. When the time had finally come for us to order she approached our table without saying anything, just a pissed off "i dont want to be here" look on her face. Not even a simple "what would you like to order?" Or anything. Just complete silence and a mad face until we decided to speak up and order. The woman was just absolutely terrible and she did not care for any of the customers at all. She even sat people down while on her phone, and just threw menus on the table while she was speaking on the phone. No regard for the customers. I don't recommend coming here at all with that service. Find somewhere else. read more

EXPERIENCE: Upon entering this establishment with my wife and parents, my nose was assaulted with the pungent odor of musty chemical cleaning products almost immediately. After being seated and receiving a menu, I skimmed its contents. The waitress taking our orders seemed nice enough, a young Hispanic women with curly dark hair, yet she had little knowledge of the dishes when confronted with simple questions like, "Does this have crab in it?" or " Do you have brown rice?". With each question asked, she scampered to the back and yelled, " DOES THE H1 HAVE ONLY SHRIMP?" or " DO WE HAVE BROWN RICE OR JUST THE FRIED RICE?". Again, the place is relatively new so we let it slide. After completing our orders, we sat there waiting silently, our noses waging on in a heated battle with strange smells. Then, without warning, a loud bellowing sound began to erupt from within the restaurant, music following with it. "HEY IT'S TIME TO DANCE...DANCE WITH ME." Our heads immediately turned to locate a blonde, somewhat heavy set waitress, chattering and joking with the manager, all while smacking away on one of the complimentary mints located at the front of the restaurant. How professional. Each word that escaped from her mouth echoed throughout the restaurant's walls with impressive force. Man this woman is loud. As we sat there, listening to staff singing karaoke in the back, the manager, a very small Vietnamese man who bore a striking resemblance to Hervé Villechaize approached out table. "Escuse meh sirh, we have no H4, we only have is one. It have the duck with bamboo." "Okay, sure I'll have that." my father replied. The man then waddled away to inform the kitchen of the new order. The first dish that arrived was my wife's, a mixture of pork, egg rolls, rice noodles, cabbage and carrots. It looked good. We sat and watched her eat as the other orders had not arrived yet. It's not uncommon for orders to come out at different times at Vietnamese restaurants. Then a small, old Vietnamese woman walking by my wife stopped, " Yougotmixtogetahdaplatetasegoodliedatway." My wife, who is not a native English speaker, stared at her blankly in confusion and then proceeded to eat her food. Our other orders arrived, which proved to be very good. The broth in our Pho dishes was very flavorful and surprisingly above average. RATING: The Negatives:(1) Smell(2) Unprofessional and very loud waitress (3) Not all dishes on the menu were available (3) Place is not a Karaoke bar, yet the staff is singing Karaoke in the back. (4) With all the yelling and gossiping from the waitresses, the place comes off more like a diner in NY. The Positives: (1) Good Pho (2) Reasonably priced. read more
