Chicken teriyaki and sweet and sour combo.
    Rodger B.

Given the fact that Las Cruces is a predominantly Hispanic city, I had eaten amazing Mexican three days in a row and was in the mood for a change. I wanted to eat something clean, so I opted for Teriyaki Chicken House. While things were solid, they weren't quite what I had hoped for. I got the chicken teriyaki/sweet and sour chicken combo with fried rice and extra veggies to go. They put the sauce on the side, but do have bottles in the restaurant that you can pour extra sauce on the food. The food was fine, but not spectacular by any means. The sweet and sour chicken was really good. You could tell that it was hand breaded and not the prepackaged frozen stuff that most spots give you. The chicken teriyaki was just ok. The vegetables were just steamed carrots and broccoli. The fried rice contained no veggies. With limited Asian options in Las Cruces, I may give it one more shot the next time I'm in town if I'm in the mood for a clean meal. (PS, I had taken a few bites before I took photo.)

It's an old Pizza Hut I think that's been reclaimed and chugs out some yummy teriyaki. It's our winter go to for a good lunch. We get the small chicken box and although the price went up (what hasn't) the quality stayed great. Nice folks running it too.

Don't let the outside fool you, try it. Glad I did. Went to the drive thru, ordered General Tso Chicken which is a large zippy portion with the right amount of breading and sauce. Ordered Teriyaki Chicken Box (sm), it was flavorful and cooked perfectly with that little bit of char you want on it. You get the teriyaki sauce on the side. The veggies on both had a little crunch which was good. Not fond of overcooked vegetables. Didn't see the green chili cream cheese wontons on the menu I'd read about from other Yelpers but I asked and was rewarded with a yes. There are 3 to an order each with a large amount of filling that is a pleasantly creamy mild green chili flavor with a few green chili bits. The staff was smiling and friendly. My total was 17.91 and Gumby gives this a thumbs up.

This hole in the wall restaurant located on the run down side of Las Cruces is a gem and a must try for anyone in the Las Cruces area. Their food is decently priced and very flavorful as well as decently healthy. Everything I've tried has been great especially the green chile wontons! The owners are truly authentic and very sweet. I recommend checking this place out, it might become your new weeknight staple! They are now taking credit cards. Be careful of their hours which are very restricted (Mon-Fri 11am-7pm, closed on weekends)

As the name suggests, this place serves chicken teriyaki. Not too pricey, not amazing, just serviceable food that will satisfy you.

The desk ladies at our hotel gave us some delivery menus and we chose bowl to go. The first two times I called it rang for ages & no one answered but I later found out their computer systems had gone down. I was positive we weren't ordering pizza so I tried again & got an answer. I ordered the Teriyaki garlic shrimp, teriyaki noodle side & a Dr. Pepper. They said it would be just shy of $15, pretty reasonable for the amount of food they sent & it arrived after only 20 minutes! The Teriyaki noodles were amazing!!!!! Whatever they had in their teriyaki sauce I would love to know it was a bit sweet, nothing like a store bottle of teriyaki sauce. When I opened my teriyaki garlic shrimp & fried rice it was full of veggies which I had ordered to leave out. I called the restaurant back & asked if they had sent someone else's order and they apologized and had a new one out to me in ten minutes. They threw in some soup & a spring roll because of the mess up which was very kind. They didn't have to do that. The teriyaki garlic shrimp didn't taste like teriyaki or garlic but I love shrimp so I didn't care. The fried rice was good, a different flavor than your typical Chinese buffet, it was sweet, whatever sauce they're using they should bottle it because it's wonderfu. All in all I was extremely full & satisfied. Great little place.

Don't make the same mistake that I made and think that suffering for at least a day in terrible pain is worth only spending a few bucks on lunch. There food quality is clearly really bad. The chicken comes out in perfect cubes...tell me that isn't odd. They were out of half of their soft drinks, too. I had to pour lots of soy sauce on my food to make it even slightly tasty. Maybe they have improved over the last couple of months, but I just thought there needed to be an honest review up here.

My wife and I ordered the chicken dumplings and two of the bento boxes (teriyaki). Everything was delicious and well prepared. The lunch bento box had your choice of meat, California roll, 2 dumplings, spring egg roll and your choice of rice for $12.95. The teriyaki chicken was delicious with a good overall sauce. Flavorful and left us wanting more. The sushi was refreshingly good and the rice was a perfectly prepared. Our waiter was very friendly easy going and very good. So the food seems "clean" - no msg or other junk added. However, it was virtually tasteless. I mean, c'mon, add some garlic, onion, ginger, chile,... there're hundreds of options to add flavor. So yeah, food was bland. First time I got the chicken katsu bowl. The chicken was a bit bland, like the chicken itself had zero seasoning, not marinated for flavor, nothing. The breading was ok. Tempura was ok. Second time, I got Sweet and Sour Pork Soba. It wasn't breaded like most places, and that was ok, because I am Keto. But,... I was also a bit glad that there wasn't a lot of sauce, which is usually sugary elsewhere. However, the sauce in hand, was just like water with a little bit of redish something or other. Sweet and Sour is literally sugar (or SOMETHING sweet, like, perhaps, pineapple... ) and vinegar. This was a bowl of Soba with ten, maybe, 1/2" square chunks of tasteless pork, and 2 TB of cabbage. Bland. Unspiced. Boring. Would I eat there again? Probably not. Unless I was more in the mood for "clean" food, then tasty food. It IS possible to do both!

I'll admit I was a little skeptical at first since there aren't a ton of dining options in the area and I had already had a disappointing experience at another restaurant earlier in the trip. As soon as we walked in though, my first impression changed. The place was very clean and organized, we were greeted right away, and seated quickly. Service was friendly and efficient from the start. I ordered a Thai tea and the egg rolls as an appetizer, while my coworker got the potstickers. Both came out quickly and were hot and fresh. They each came with dipping sauces, but there was an orange sauce on the table that reminded me of a spicy mayo and was really good with everything. For my meal, I ordered the ramen stir-fry, which was savory and flavorful with plenty of vegetables, protein, and a generous portion size. It definitely left me satisfied, and my coworker enjoyed his meal as well. Overall, it was a great, quick dinner experience - clean restaurant, friendly service, and good food.
