This place was really great! I ordered the Eye Round beef Pho in a large because I wanted to make sure I had enough and an avocado smoothie (my fave!). And boy was it ever enough! I had to get a to go container to take the rest home. It was very flavorful and the service was great. I do caution those who go, to be patient as it took awhile to get our drinks. By awhile, I mean I ate what I was gonna eat, and it still didn't come. I say bring your patience it is definitely worth it. Give it a try if you are in town! read more

I was not expecting a Vietnamese food gem in Frederick but this one was absolutely delicious. It's the perfect spot for a warm and tasty bowl of pho. I've now been twice and feel confident that their pho is consistent and flavorful. The broth is super clean and well spiced. The small is a hefty serving, especially if you want to leave room for an appetizer or another entree to try. Had lunch a week ago at this restaurant, had a small Pho soup and a tea, soup was very good. Received my bill and I was overcharged, my total bill with tax should have been $13.57, I was charged $17.11. I spoke to manager (perhaps owner) and she gave me back the difference $3.54 in cash. So today I was paying my CC bill and noticed that they actually ran a different charge in the amount of $22.11. What a rip off, also they did not provide a receipt, therefore I can not dispute the charge with my CC company. Lesson learned, always request a receipt. read more

Whew, what a tight parking lot! At peak time, where do people go?? I guess I'll find out some time in the future, haha. When I walked in I observed plenty of tables available for seating. There was also a register that had these huge pork buns for sale! I left with one, but we'll get to that. Since I traveled pretty much an hour, it would've been crazy to go straight home, so I decided to dine in. The tables are decently spaced out, and there was a TV on the wall to watch things. Otherwise, it was pretty chill. I looked through the menu and decided to get the pho ga "chicken pho", and it came in a huge glorious bowl. I honestly didn't think it was going to be that filling based on how hungry I was, so I also got a tofu banh mi sandwich. MISTAKE, I had to pack it up after a few bites LOL! But let me tell you how everything tasted wonderful. The pho was flavorful -- especially after I added some heat to it. The banh mi sandwich was really good... I especially enjoyed the texture of the bread. But I was just too full to enjoy the whole thing at the time. I had no issues getting a box to go. After that, I asked about the pork buns and I could either get a pack or just a single. I opted for a single, and when I heated it up later on.... WHOA. That was such a treat.... soft bun and flavorful meat inside. Given the distance, it might be a while, but I'm definitely going to return! read more

This is the worst experience. The food was mediocre and took FOREVER. And the service... We had to ask for water twice. They never brought one of our appetizers. The gave us the wrong drinks. We waited close to 30 mins for the food which was mediocre at best. Then they ran our credit card for the wrong bill and then came back to us to void the whole thing and they came back to rerun it with our correct bill. And did they apologize even once for any of it? No. This was my second time here and what a hot mess. They need to improve the food, put in some systems to avoid any one and all of these mistakes. Pho An Loi was very delicious! Everything we ordered was yummy and I can't wait to come back. We ordered the grilled beef with rice, grilled pork with rice, the crispy Maryland chicken with tomato rice, crispy noodles with seafood, the grilled beef Bahn Mi and crispy spring rolls. I recommend all the dishes we ordered and I can't just pick one dish. The owners use to own a restaurant in Columbia but moved to Frederick and I'm so glad because we now have another local gem in Frederick. Best Vietnamese restaurant in the area! During COVID, there is limited seating and social distancing is enforced. You must wear a mask upon entering the restaurant and the staff is wearing masks. Food was good but not outstanding. I first ordered a coconut smoothie. No coconut flavor. Tasted more like nothing at all. I think it must have been made with coconut water. Pho An Loi has been a staple on Rosemont for years and for that, I'm grateful. This is my go-to place for a warm and delicious bowl of pho. I always order the summer rolls -- it's stuffed with shrimp and pork. The only thing it's missing is a little cilantro and Thai basil. I recently discovered their Bánh mì sandwich and it was bangin! The baguette was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, the pork was perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor, with lots of fresh herbs (jalapeños, cilantro, thinly sliced carrots, etc.), and the perfect portion of meats and veggies. 10/10 recommend. Beyond their tasty food, what's stands out about Pho An Loi is their customer service. The owners and staff are so friendly and kind. It's always a pleasure eating in or taking out. I've had Pho which is flavorful but I've also had their curry and other dishes which are delightful! They're speeding, kind and helped minimize my cold symptoms when I first order here . I ordered the large Pho Tai Nam because I was really hungry. It definitely filled me up, and pleasantly so. I didn't drink all the broth because I ordered a mango milk tea, which I haven't had before. It tasted nice, but I might get the mango smoothie next time. This place was recommended to me by a local friend and I've enjoyed the meal, both of the times that I've been there. It was quite busy Sunday night. I feel like it's time to write a review for Pho An Loi. This place is seriously SO GOOD... Really. Everything here is fresh, flavorful, and served with a smile. The staff will remember you and are always happy to accommodate any special needs. I've tried a little bit of everything at some point... Thai iced tea, spring rolls, pho, vermicelli noodles, etc., but highly recommend the Crispy Maryland Chicken. The chicken has this perfectly savory red sauce on it and it's crispy yet tender. It comes with this sweet tomato rice that is also yummy. It's my favorite. The entree portions are huge. I've always left with half my food to eat for lunch the next day... and as a plus, their food warms up perfectly the next day! COVID precautions are being implemented with hand sanitizer available at the door and masks strongly encouraged. All staff wear masks. Tables are also socially distanced. It honestly doesn't look like much from the outside, but trust me, you won't be disappointed. Give them a try. read more

Passed by on our way to NY and was craving some Vietnamese Food, this location was convenient close to Sheetz gas station for adventurers passing by. First customer of the morning the owners was there they welcomed us with open arms and treated us like we was family. Food was really tasteful, service was amazing, sitting area was clean and they had clean bathrooms as well. Pho broth was real good and you can taste the authenticity in it. What I loved that was different for me was the Maryland chicken; it tasted like Peking Chicken they deep fried and it was real juicy and crispy, don't forget to get the Thai tea. This is my first time back since 2018. I thought it was pretty underwhelming so I didn't come back. They must be under new management because the food was EXCELLLENT and so well priced. I'm really picky about my Viet food and have struggled in Frederick to find authentic and consistent. Not any more!! I ordered Pho #1 without the tripe and it was a lot of food so glad I got a small. Clear flavorful broth. lots of meat and only $11. Most local restaurants are $3 more and not nearly as good. I also got the pickled onions which were perfect. You can tell they are prepared correctly (soaked in water first to take the bitterness out) because they were delicate and perfectly mildly sweet and vinegary. I got an iced Jasmine tea- wonderful flavor! I also got the crispy vegetarian spring rolls which had mushrooms, tapioca, cabbage and carrot which were so flavorful. They came with a nice pice of deep green lettuce and pickled vegetables, which were so beautiful to look at and eat. Most restaurants stop serving the sides like that because American don't know to eat them (you should wrap your roll in a piece of lettuce with pickle and herb before dipping for the full effect!). I'm so glad they are sticking to their roots and providing it. I kept an eye on the other food people orders and the dishes looked so fresh, colorful, and beautiful. I can't wait to go back and try more dishes. I also just appreciate not being nickel and dimed to death. The iced tea was $1 and the pickled onions were $1.50. These are typically included as condiments and in Vietnam are free. Most places charge $3 each for pickled onions and tea. read more

Dinner last night (17 July 2021) was excellent and authentic!  DH and I shared the spring rolls. They came right out of the fryer and were tasty. They came with the typical sweet dipping sauce. For my entrée, I had the Combo Vermicelli Noodles (pick three), in which I selected the grilled lemongrass beef, grilled pork, and grilled shrimp. I liked the grilled pork the best.  Great flavors. DH had the Pad Thai Noodles that had shrimp, chicken, and fish balls. I tried the Pad Thai and I really liked it. It wasn't as sweet as other restaurants. Both of our  entrées were big servings, enough for a couple more meals. We were surprised how empty the place was being a Saturday night.  This place should be packed!  The food was excellent. My son was craving Asian food after goalkeeper training and we were headed towards Frederick. Did a quick search of our route home and saw that this place had 5 stars, so we figured why not check it out. Thankfully we did because the food and friendliness/attentiveness of the staff did not disappoint. Less than 5 min of being seated we were already given water and our orders taken. Summer rolls and crispy spring rolls were our appetizers, my son ordered the spicy beef pho bowl, and I ordered the combination rice platter with grilled beef, grilled pork, and grilled chicken. The summer rolls were big and packed with a copious amount of vermicelli noodles, shrimp, and pork. At other places I've been, the pork usually has no taste but this pork was slightly sweet like char siu and complimented the shrimp very well. The peanut sauce for the summer rolls was spot on. The spring rolls were thick and crispy, and filled with a lot of meat...got my money's worth of protein with this appetizer My son's spicy pho bowl had a very smooth, spicy, lemongrass broth that paired well with the noodles and thinly sliced beef. For my platter, a generous amount of grilled meats were placed on top of white rice with pickled cabbage, carrots, and daikon. It was difficult to tell which was pork and which was beef, but who cares when the meats were perfectly seasoned and grilled to perfection! And did I mention the juice of the meats that were soaked up by the rice on the bottom of the plate m, mixed with the pickling juice? Mmm! For a flavor explosion, try a drop of chili sauce and hoisin on each meat strip, then dunk it in the fish sauce. Yummy. This is a definite 5 star and a place we plan to come back to, for sure. read more

I should start by saying that I may be spoiled by really good Vietnamese food in the N. Virginia, Baltimore county areas and NYC. Food is decent here! Prices are very fair, service fantastic. But I wouldn't quite rate it 5 stars. I'm giving the food 3.5 stars. Which isn't bad! We had summer rolls. Those were made nice, but the peanut sauce could be more peanut-y and less acidic. I got the Maryland Chicken, which was freshly fried but lacked a bit of flavor I think. It came with a sweet garlicky dipping sauce, which I actually found too sweet. The tomato rice was ok. And I love rice. Tasted like rice with a bit of tomato flavor. A little bit on the greasy side. We also got Banh Mi sandwiches. Decent, but just not as tasty as Banh Mi DC Sandwiches. (To compare, these were 7 out of 10.) Could use a bit more pickles and the jalapeños were not spicy. Not their fault as sometimes you get sweet peppers, but I like a kick in it. Their pickled radishes and carrots were a bit more on the sweet side, and I tend to like my pickles more vinegary. Our friend got the quail, which looked like it was cooked well. He didn't quite rave about it tho, and I didn't taste it so I don't know. But it looked nice! Food came out pretty quickly. Would I give the place another try? Sure. Curious how their pho is. Best pho in Frederick hands down- the only thing I would criticize is the lack of veggies with the chicken pho but now I started getting the veggie pho with beef broth and add chicken. DELICIOUS!!! The summer rolls are my fav apps on the menu (full disclosure I haven't tried the other apps) but by far the best summer rolls around. read more

We were traveling through Frederick recently and decided to come here based on the reviews. Upon arrival, we noted that there was nowhere to park, in front or in the back. We ended up parking on a nearby side street and walking to the restaurant. Once inside, we found the restaurant busy and determined part of the parking problem was a party of 17 that had just arrived. Oy. The restaurant space didn't feel homey (is it a former 7-Eleven?) but they did add a bit of charm with plants on the tables. Throughout our time there, we found the employees to all be gracious and friendly. We started with summer rolls which were predictably good. Unfortunately, neither of us liked the peanut sauce. It had zero peanut flavor. Shame. The pho was really good and the broth had depth of flavor. The vermicelli bowl was larger than expected/usual and the pork was tender and flavorful. Both mains were really enjoyed. One thing that bothered us was the condiments. Nothing resided on the table, which was fine, and they proactively brought hoisin and sriracha. Great. It wasn't until after we finished that we saw another table had the good stuff - chili crunch. If we had known that was available, we certainly would have requested it....but...we shouldn't have had to request it. Seems it would be much simpler to keep all of those condiments on the table OR have caddies that hold all of them and bring them all when food is ordered. We're likely to return the next time we're traveling through Frederick...just hope there's somewhere to park! read more

One of the best restaurants in Frederick. It was recommended to me by a Vietnamese friend with high standards for her home country cuisine. Everything I've tried has been very good and I find the portions generous. The restaurant is a good size with plenty of seating. There always seem to be plenty of diners and they do a brisk carry out business. The wait get long on the weekends but unlike other popular restaurants, I've not had a bad experience with it taking more time than quoted. read more

Sunday lunch, we got a couple orders of pho, a chicken curry soup (gluten free-free), and some Singapore noodles. Everything was fresh & delicious. Also, portions were generous, to say the least! My curry soup was "the gift that keeps on giving"--ie, had a full meal at lunch, got a 1 quart container that my leftovers *completely filled* then made a nice dinner of it a few hours later--AWESOME. One lunch-mate works nearby, and he's now determined to add Pho An Loi as a weekday fav among his coworkers. Long story short: we'll be back :-) read more
