When we got here, our server was outside cleaning the outdoor seating and opened the door for us; how gentlemanly! I think it's interesting that the menu has Vietnamese, Korean, and Latin options. It made me a bit sad that even with the Korean options, there was no soju in the drink menu- it would go great with some of the options! but it's a Vietnamese restaurant so I get it. I haven't tried any of the Korean or Latin dishes yet, but when I do, I'll report back. As I am a creature of habit, I of course ordered the pho dac biet. The broth was good! I'd rate this pho a 3.5 due to a lack of meat (it was mostly the meat balls), but it was at a reasonable price of $14. They give cute little sauce jars with hoisin sauce and siracha sauce! The third sauce is my favorite, though. It's vinegar with pickled (?) onions and chili! So yum... For dessert we got the mango sticky rice!! Used to be Lucky corner. Not sure if same owners but I doubt it. Menu is pretty different. Didn't see pho chay- the vegetable broth pho- on the menu. Had to ask for it but confirmed it's veg broth and vegan. Got with steamed tofu. Hearty sides to go in the pho. Was good pho. Kind of so service for not being super busy. Had to ask for water like 4x. But no shade. People have bad days. read more

Identity crisis lol. This place was a ethnic melting pot with Latin, Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese, Korean and some Japanese mixed into the menu. Good news is the pricing was reasonable for the portion sizes and the food was good. The service was also friendly, efficient and fast. We were in and out in less than 1hr. The place is also pretty cute with the paper lanterns hanging from the ceiling...With an eccentric twist of Christmas wrapped ceiling tiles? Lol. Our favorite was the snapper and huge wontons. The pho was good but nothing particularly stood out except for the rib presentation. We were a bit let down by the blandness of the tofu dish (which was hyped up to be very flavorful). There was also waaay too much onion and unappetizing shreds of ginger in the dish that made it unpleasant. The tofu wasn't fried crispy enough either so it had a slight rubbery texture. It's been a minute since I ate at the Lucky Corner, the REAL one back in the day, not the shopping center version which swore us off of visiting after the disjointed meal service we received, cold food etc. Located in the original "Lucky Corner" building and purportedly by the same original owner, this was the joy and indulgence of a meal I'd been craving for some time. The Vegan Pho we ordered and the Tofu Summer rolls were out of this world! The broth was so delightful I didn't need to add anything. The toppings, both for our pho and the limes for our water, were abundant and fresh, vibrant even. What made the meal spectacular was the kindness and generosity of our host(s). I mistakenly asked for extra spicy (it was and it was exactly what I wanted) and ordered the same for my partner leaving out the fact that she did NOT want it spicy. They made the necessary modifications at no charge, with no fuss and not even an appreciable gap in service. They even sent us home with complimentary extras! We were craving pho and were extremely disappointed in the freshness of the ingredients. Tripe and meat cuts in the pho dac biet looked and tasted old. We were kind of scared to eat the meats. The broth wasn't flavorful either. I don't expect much when it comes to Vietnamese food in the Frederick, Md area as the Asian food scene isn't quite there yet. But quality and freshness would be a baseline requirement. The service I will say was kind and attentive once we were served. But it took a moment when we entered to be seated. Not sure if Vietnamese food though is the best choice for them. There were 3 of us that went here for the first time about a month or more ago. I ordered the carmelized pork in hot pot. And when it came out, it was VERY HOT! It was still bubbling! Very tasty. I have to mention the wonton soup... Both myself and my son got it and it is the best wonton soup we have had. Delicious. After a lovely hike at Cunningham Falls, my friend and I pulled into Fredrick for food and quickly saw Tin Corner online. Since we can never resist Vietnamese food, we popped by and had a delicious experience! We were going to get dumplings, but they were out, so we got the veggie spring rolls instead - so crispy, nice filling, yummy sauce. The order was four spring rolls halves (so 2 rolls), but the flavors were great and definitely worth it. My friend got the pho (vegetarian) and I got the drunken noodles with tofu. Both were very good! The drunken noodles were perfect, with a little kick, but not too spicy (good, since my spice tolerance isn't amazing). The tofu wasn't soggy/oily too, which was nice. My friend's pho was good and came with a very traditional mountain of greens and bean sprouts, which she enjoyed. I will say I was confused that they also had things like Latin food on the menu, which I can't vouch for, but if you stick with the foods that are more classically Vietnamese/Thai, it seems like they do that very well! I am a fan of this restaurant because the staff are fun, the food is pretty darn good, and when the weather is nice you can dine outdoors. The pho is very good. The fried fish is very good. The appetizers are all very good. The service is very friendly but they seem perpetually understaffed. It's always easy to get a seat here, and the food is always rewarding! This is a great little Frederick find! We came here (a party of 12) for Mother's Day. The food was fantastic and the service was rendered with a smile! Every dish was absolutely delicious, served hot and flavorful! With our massive party I can't remember exactly what everyone ordered but I was very pleased with my vegetarian fried summer rolls and tofu curry. When I learned about the "new" Vietnamese restaurant, Tin Corner, located in downtown Frederick was opening, I eagerly wanted to try it out. I'd visited in its past iteration and enjoyed the food. It is now under new ownership and has been renovated and rebranded. The menu is pared down considerably, which isn't a bad thing. The portion sizes are pretty big, so you won't leave hungry. The pho wasn't as flavorful as I'd hoped, but it was still delicious. Customers order their food at the counter, so the restaurant has a much more casual feel. The staff is friendly and works quickly and efficiently. I will definitely visit again. read more

Yikes. I have no clue how this place has so many good reviews. My partner got drunken noodles with chicken that was so chewy he had to send it back, which he NEVER does. I got the house special pho, which was so salty and cloudy that I don't know if I would classify it as authentic pho. The bowl of sprouts, which I didn't touch, was grey, smelled like it may have turned, and a gnat literally flew out of it. I actually would give it 3.5 stars. I got the pho and vegetarian spring rolls. What was great: broth was beefy and hot, plenty of meat, all ingredients fresh, spring rolls crispy. What was just ok: broth wasn't that flavorful beyond the beef. I added salt and lime but it still tasted a little flat. I like my spring rolls with lettuce and herbs for dipping because they are pretty greasy and you need something to cut all that grease. Springrolls don't come with anything here. We visited Tin Corner today and it was delicious! We had their spring rolls, cubed beef and house pho. The cubed beef was tender, the house pho broth was flavorful. Only suggestion would be to cook the potatoes in the cubed beef a bit longer and a touch of salt in the broth (but I love salt! So I'm bias) in addition to the delicious food the gentlemen in the front who took our order was so nice and I think it was the owner that served us, he was lovely. Finished the meal off with some ginger tea. The location is great and has a little private parking lot and the inside of the restaurant is cute. Excellent quality entrees with very polite service. The Pho is exquisite based on other customers comments. We were enjoying a Da Nang noodles and a Lemongrass Chicken with my wife. We ordered a mild spice for each entree and were pleasantly surprised the chef hit the seasoning perfectly. Our next visit will include a moderate spice to measure comparison to mild. This review is for the Spicy Soup (BBH) only. Major disappointment!. The soup does not have authentic flavor and it is missing several important ingredient to make it a BBH. Also, who would handout menu with handwritten changes (price, deletion) all over the place. Changing from 16 to 15.99, why?. We often eat here when it was Lucky Corner and even after that with new owner. We thought we would give this a chance. I could not even finish 1/3 of my BBH. I finally got a chance to try out Tin Corner and I had a pleasant experience. The place has been given a facelift and the atmosphere is straightforward and clean. Our server was Ceasar and he did a wonderful job describing the different dishes my friend and I were interested in trying. I had one of their best-selling dishes, the Chef's Special Chicken which is their rendition of General Tao's Chicken. The spice level was as I requested, just a bit hotter than mild, and the sauce was very flavorful. I also ordered a small Tom Yum soup that was made with vermicelli noodles.....not traditional, but an added pleasure. I plan on returning soon. read more
