I haven't tried the food yet so I'm giving two stars hoping the food is decent, but service could be much better. I called in my order 20 min prior so that it would be ready by the time I arrive. I get there, wait 10-15 min while they figure out something with the register or changing shifts. Then when it's finally my turn, hey guess what, my order wasn't even put in! She apologized then took my order again. I tried not to get upset. Her shift was over it looked like. The one good thing was that another girl helped bring the food to my car since I'm handicapped right now. But wait, to top it off, I get home, and my order was wrong!!! Are you kidding me?!! Walked in on a Thursday night. The restaurant was a total mess with dirty dishes everywhere and trash on the floor. 2 servers looked at us but never acknowledged the 5 of us. We found an empty table to sit down. 10 minutes passed, still no acknowledgement. Another group of people came in and sat down on another empty table. The female server proceeded to greet them and moved the dirty dishes for them. WTH? What about us? As we got up to leave, she asked if we were ready to order. Are you kidding me? You haven't even cleaned the dirty dishes off our table yet. NEVER coming back. The only reason we even stepped foot here was because the Japanese restaurant around the corner was packed. Yelpers beware! We came here after the restaurant we wanted to go originally was closed. We saw it was packed, so we decided to try it. We got the pho, seafood noodles, and vermicelli. The seafood noodles were really bland. The soup tasted like water. The vermicelli had very little meat. It was mostly noodles and bean sprouts. The pho was ok, but there is way better out there. Maybe it was toward the end of the night, but everything was just not up to par. This is where it gets bad! When it came time to pay, I noticed they had charged us extra for the seafood soup noodles, even though on the menu stated it was the same price as the other "chicken based soups". We asked the lady at the register why we were charged more (she was the older lady that works there). Her reply? "Because it's seafood." We told her that wasn't the price on the menu, but she brushed us off. Shady and dishonest way of doing business! Rather than arguing, we just paid and left, never to return. Kind of a weird experience here. Walked in and noticed B sign on the front window. When I asked for veggies in my pho ga, only bok choi and other green, had to ask for carrots, not a deal breaker. When the friendly server brought the garnishes, I had to ask for more basil....TWICE. Almost like they were running low and only wanted to give one or two stems. THE BROTH Ehhhhh.....kinda bland. Definitely turned me off. What a bummer, I was really hungry and really in the mood for good pho. SPRING ROLLS I'll pass. Something was missing. Even the peanut sauce wasn't all that good. I wanted to love this place since it was so close to my parents' house and would be perfect for a cold (lol, "cold") day or a Sunday (yadadamean') but was extremely disappointed and will not be coming again. Service: granted, I came during lunch hour, the waiter never came with the menu (I grabbed it from near the soda fountain). Took 10 minutes to come by and take our order, and another 15 for the food to come out. Food: our TWO spring rolls came out last, after our broken rice dish and steamed veggies plate. The pork on the broken rice plate was extremely dry and looked like it was either picked out from somebody's left overs, or had been left out for too long. We proceeded in drenching all of our food in fish sauce to make it somewhat edible. Verdict: I guess if you are not Asian and was really craving Asian food, then ok. Get the #5 or #6 (the one with all of the meat) and ask for the garlic soup/broth, it's very good when you put some chili sauce in it. $5.50 for small, $6.50 for large. They give you more meat than the other restaurants out here and it's definitely better than Pho Ha and Pho Vinam in Riverside. read more

Ordered the chicken rice here and I have a lot to say... The Chicken was VERY FLAVORFUL : it's good if you eat it alone. The Rice (tomato rice) was also very flavorful but maybe too much flavor? The consistency made me not want to eat it? It was overwhelming towards the end of my meal. SALAD: would be good with steak dish but not the chicken, it's too sweet and sour. Forgive me if I sound a little biased, but I go here for lunch almost once every week. Being an Indian dude, I have no clue what authentic Vietnamese food really tastes like, but if I had to take a guess, this place would be it. Whether I get the popular Pho or the noodles or the fried rice from the Wok, they never fail to impress me. They are very courteous and always serve with a smile. They even take special requests sometimes. There is the Seafood Pho and there is the Garlicky Chicken,Shrimp and Barbeque Pork Pho. Today, the prices are higher, service is spotty and the food is just eh. I'm writing this review after the last time I was here, hoping they would get their act straight after numerous incidents... First, how do you run out of lime?? There is a 99 Ranch market right next door. Eating pho without lime is like eating eggs w/o ketchup!! (I know... It's not for everyone! haha) it tastes bland and tasteless. This happened so many times I started bringing my own damn limes, just in case! Next, their noodle to soup ratio is so off. I came with my family of 5 and half got a ton of soup with hardly any noodle and the other half the opposite. Water rarely gets filled, and all the pho condiments come after the food is already out. Yay so excited that we have found a good pho place near us, first try too- thank you Yelp! We started with spring rolls with sausage in them (don't remember the name) and they were pretty good. I'm not sure what the sauce was that came with them but I liked it. I ordered BBQ pork with rice and my husband ordered a large pho. My food was good but then again, I haven't tried a BBQ pork with fish sauce dish that I haven't liked. My husband really liked the pho here, mainly because there was cilantro in the dish of herbs and beansprouts and he LOVES cilantro. The service was good and the prices are decent. Pho Anam is pretty daaaamn good. And this is coming from someone who's been eating Vietnamese food his whole life. FOOD : For appetizers, I recommend getting fried calamari, egg rolls, and spring rolls. I'm a big fan of calamari and its a must order for most restaurants I eat at, and this by far was the best I've had. The dipping sauce, which was sweet and sour, went with it perfectly. Who would've known a Viet restaurant would make delicious fried calamari. Egg rolls and spring rolls taste fresh and authentic compared to ones I've had at other restaurants. Also The fish sauce that comes with the egg rolls wasn't too overpowering that it would get in the way of me enjoying those egg rolls, just how like it growing up. For the main course I ordered the Pho Tai Large and it didn't taste like those generic m.s.g. ones in garden grove. AND BE WARNED! THE LARGE IS FILLING! you get what you pay for, and some. I also tried the Bun Cha Gio Thit Nuong (Vietnamese Rice Noodles with BBQ Pork, Egg Rolls, and Vegetables) and Com Tam Bi Cha Thit Nuong (Broken Rice with BBQ Pork) on separate occasions. The Bun Cha Gio and Com Tam both had a perfect ratio between noodles/rice, BBQ pork, egg rolls, and veggies. And with their delicious fish sauce to go on top, I couldn't get enough. SERVICE : Service was quick to seat us. Took them a little while to come and take our orders but once they did the food came out nice and hot. The servers can come off a little cold and distant at times but once you wave them down they are there to help. After a great day snowboarding during a crazy windy snowstorm, my friends and I wanted something warm and fuzzy to fill our bellies with. We stumbled onto Pho Anam because it just so happened that we parked our other car in this lot. It was raining and cold outside so when we entered the restaurant, there were hardly any patrons. The menu didn't seem as extensive as other Vietnamese restaurants I've been to. We each ordered a nice, hot bowl of pho and an order of egg rolls for the table. The egg rolls were hot and fresh. I wrapped those babies in lettuce and dipped them in my fish sauce. Delicious! I ordered a Pho Tai and that broth was probably the one of the best I've ever had. I was even with two Vietnamese friends that said that it was pretty good too. I don't like to alter my pho broth too much so usually all I do is add basil, lime, and jalapenos. This broth tasted so flavorful that I could have eaten it without adding anything at all. It was this good with my congested nose and inability to taste right now. I can only imagine how great it'll be next time I come when I'm not sick. Pho Anam really surprised me. I honestly wasn't expecting very much when I walked i the door, but after sitting down and enjoying a really great meal, I hope this new business makes it through the years. I ordered the Pho Ga...always nervous when the entire menu is written in English...not like I can spell, read nor understand Vietnamese but I like the authenticity. I also got an order of spring rolls, an order of pork rolls and #26...I explained my BF wanted a noodle dish with great flavor and no broth...he told me this was a mixed meat and tasted like chow mein....totally failed. Pho Ga----I was not stoked on my soup, while the chicken was good, the broth was not. The veggies were abundant and fresh but none matters when the broth sucks....so boo :( Spring rolls---- I have definitely had better. He took a squuez bottle off the counter and squirted some in the Styrofoam cup...it was icky and tasteless. The rolls were not wrapped tight...pork tasted good though. The Pork Rolls--- now this pork was gross. Period. #26----I think anyways....the noodles were vermicelli noodles, even though he explained the dish as chow mein like..there was no true flavor that came through. it was a combo meat and seriously had three shrimps and a couple pieces of chicken...this dish was $8.00 , I was expecting some protein for lords sake. One of those classic " IF I COULD GIVE NO STARS I WOULD " review. It was our first time here, we got the P4 and P11 large bowls with a side of shrimp and pork spring rolls. The broth for both pho's was tasteless, I nearly finished all of the chili sauce and salt the table had just to try to find a decent tasting broth. The meat from the P4 was tough and mostly fat same goes to the P11. The spring rolls were nearly falling apart from not being rolled right enough. The pho here is pretty good. I'm usually out of town all week on business but when I come home and crave a nice big bowl of good pho, this is the place I go to for it. Sure, sometime the service may not be the best (when I go they're usually packed since I go on weekends, and having worked in the food industry eons ago, I can understand) but then again, I'm not like most people on here who come on here to whine and complain. This is fast becoming a nation of complainers. At least to me it seems that the people who post negative comments on here want the staff to drop everything they're doing, roll out the red carpet for them and maybe even spoon feed them. C'mon people, get real. Anyway, I digress. They take my order and bring me a hot bowl of pho and provide what I need to enjoy a decent meal. You get free refills on your soft drink and heck, they'll even refill your glass for you! It's a family run establishment and they do their best to make you happy. I've never had a bad experience here. So in short, if you want to have decent pho, I recommend this place. If you want to pretend you're a royal and want to be spoiled to bring up your low self-esteem, go someplace else where they'll charge you an arm and leg and the food will likely not be as good. I Love the pho here. It is delicious. I usually have a beef bowl, and this place seriously has the best tasting broth in the area. Better broth can only be found in orange county. The price is typical, 5.95 for regular or 6.95 for Large. and that goes for all their pho bowls, whether its beef, chicken, seafood, or vegetarian. The meat portions are plentiful, i would say they added a good quarter pound of meat into my bowl. I went in there with a buddy for lunch. I asked if there were any lunch specials but the only have to menu options. No big deal. I didn't even look at the menu options other than what type of Pho was offered. They have different types of Pho with tripe and even a seafood dishes. There are 3 bowl sizes to choose from. I'm a big guy and large was more than enough for me. The super size is for 2-3 people to share. Fresh ingredients and the fresh basil was great! Overall clean, good customer service and friendly spot. Wait times were not long if you are in hurry for lunch. I will go back again in the near future. read more

I was hopeful that this place would be good, but I was wrong. The pho was okay, nothing special. It lacked the taste of basil due to the lack of basil!! We ordered garlic fries and when we got our "garlic fries", they was nothing on them. We asked the waitress and she said: we have new cooks in the back and this is how they've been cooking them even though we tell them to put garlic. SERIOUSLY??? So because you have new cooks, and they don't know how to make them, you're still going to offer them anyway? Waaa?!
