Cool decor and the food is good and fast, but there are so many pho places in Riverside, I gotta say - meh. Though the servers are friendly, they just seat, you, take your order and deliver your food. That's it. they don't come back to check on you or clear away dirty plates. I saw this with the tables around us. So we only tipped 10% as they didn't care to "serve" us. Our pho came quickly but we had to wait awhile for the basil/sprouts/jalapenos and lime, which were a skimpy. We waited so long we got up to ask if we were going to get any and they said yes, it's on it's way. All pho restaurants bring that plate out immediately after ordering. A heaping plate. Would have been nice if they told us this platter was on it's way. We were partially through our bowl when it arrived. I ordered my usual, Pho Tai. Most pho places serve the thinly sliced beef rare, over the hot broth and noodles. I would swish it in the broth and it's cooked. This place broth the beef fully cooked, not thinly (not shaved) sliced and the meat was of poor quality. Very tough. The broth was good but not much flavor. No check was presented, so we assumed we have to go up front to pay. That's when the server got up from a booth where she was relaxing to check us out. Again, hence the 10% tip. read more

Parking is tough especially around dinner time. The place has a cool decor with murals of old Hollywood but the lighting is dark and dreary. Service was extremely slow for it not being busy. They were a bit stingy on the lemon wedges and veggies. There were three of us and we ordered three bowls of Pho. We got one small plate of veggies and two lemon wedges. When we asked for more lemons, waiter looked over at our table to make sure we actually needed more lemons. When we asked for a sauce plate/cup, he looked bothered. Well next time just put little sauce plates on the table and we wouldn't have to ask you to get it. Like how do they not know people like to dip their meats in Siracha and Hoison sauce. Not everyone just pours it into the bowl. When we ordered our Pho, we also ordered a Banh Mi sandwich as a to go order. At the end of our meal, my wife went to pay and the check included the price with the sandwhich. She paid and asked how long the sandwich would take, they said, "what sandwich!" Uh, the one we just paid for. Cashier looked confused and asked to see the receipt. Then he went to the back and asked about the sandwich. We could hear someone in the back saying they didn't make a sandwich. Cashier apologized and we waited another 12 minutes for the sandwich. Pho was actually good but a bit on the pricey side. $20 for the Dac Biet. Next time we'll just go to Pho Ha down the street for better noodles at a cheaper price and they won't charge you for a sandwich that doesn't exist. read more

Went back today for some pho. It was the best pho I've had over here in this area. The service was excellent and quick just like before. The restaurant wasn't busy this time so it had more of a chill vibe and they had good music playing. I really like this place and plan to continue making visits. read more

We ordered some take out here last night. Hubby wasn't feeling too good and pho always makes him feel better. We called in ahead over the phone for a to go order. We order the pho special, it's great with an assortment of meats, the vermicelli noodle with grilled pork, eggrolls and some veggies and a side of fish sauce and lastly 2 orders of spring rolls comes 2 in an order. The Springs rolls were refreshing and good with shrimp and peanut sauce. The pho special is our favorite here. My son loved the vermicelli pork noodle. The restaurant here is very clean. This is my first time here. I will definitely come back to this location. At first a being seated it took about 10 minutes before anyone came to take my order and I was about ready to walk out. I'm glad I stayed. I ordered Filet Mignon and the Shrimp Spring Rolls. The flavor of the broth was on point and not salty at all. I added the chili oil to the broth and the taste was on point. Pho Star Bowl is the only pho so far that comes a little close to the pho in the OC. We usually go all the way out to the OC for our pho cravings. As we haven't found any close to us in the IE that are good. Except for Pho Star Bowl. The broth is tasty and the meats are fresh. The inside has a very inviting and unique design/decor. The service is good. We have enjoyed their combination pho, beef banh mi, their beef shrimp rice noodle salad and Thai tea. Everything has been on point. My only complaints is that they give very little veggies for the pho and their prices are a little higher than other pho joints. I like when places give you a big plate of veggies as I like a bunch of beans sprouts and basil in mine. Overall it's a great alternative to having to drive all the way to Anaheim. read more

Came in n a Sunday afternoon and the outside is a very unassuming bit when you enter I was pleasantly surprised that it was a very welcoming and nice sit down restaurant. They did seat us promptly but it took another 5-10 minutes for them to come back to take our drink order and then another 5 mi it's to order our food. I'll admit it was a little busy and they not had 2 servers that I saw and I had to be the be to flag them down for anything we needed. The food though was pretty dang good and worth the longer waits. I had the garlic steak and butter rice and it was very good. We also ordered the pork and spring roll over noodles (was supposed to be rice) and was pretty good but the garlicky c steak and butter rice was much better. Would I come back again? Yes for sure. CBU parents here! We met up with our biological and bonus college kiddos to have an early Sunday dinner with everyone. At 4:00, there was plenty of seating and a table for 10 was available. We ordered pho, rice dishes, egg rolls, and spring rolls. Everyone was delighted with their food and very full. The servers were excellent and attentive. Would definitely go back! Wow this place was a very unassuming gem. The decorations are a pop icons dream. Love the movie and music artist paintings and decor. Not what you would expect from a Pho spot. Apparently the owner painted and decorated the entire place. We had the whole place to ourselves as we arrived an hour before closing. Service was obviously fast and friendly. My daughter and I went there for a weekday lunch. The parking in the plaza is not the greatest but we were able to find a parking spot during the peak lunch hour. We ordered pho and Vietnamese iced coffee, I will give five stars to the food. The service was not that great from the waitress, however the manager/owner it's quite friendly. The waitress never offered a highchair for my toddler. I had to ask for one after our pho was on the table. The decoration inside the restaurant is pretty cool, and has its own theme. Even though the restaurant looks small from the outside, it's actually pretty spacious inside. Will come back to try more items on the menu next time for sure. read more

Me & my boyfriend were in the mood for pho today since it was a rainy day... we originally went to our favorite pho spot in Moreno Valley, but we quickly left because the wait was too long & we were starving. So we get there after our errands, super hungry, we signed in, only waited about 5 minutes. We got sat, waited a few minutes & then the waitress came to us & we ordered our food right away. The first thing I noticed was the sriracha at the table was brown looking, that threw me off a bit. So our bowls get there & our toppings on the side of course, the plate only came with two jalapeños each, as people who love spicy pho, we need more than just two. We asked the lady if she could bring us more jalapeños & she did but only about 5 more for the both of us... so whatever we made it work. We start eating & the Pho was solid. The broth was on the sweeter side to me but still tasted good. The portion was pretty big as well. Halfway through, my boyfriend needed a refill of water, so he gets up (because the waitress never came back) & he goes to ask for water... they only filled his cup up to not even halfway! Like what?! That threw us off. When we finished, my boyfriend had to go pay up there as well because the waitress never came. After we pay I go ask the lady where the bathroom was & she just looked at me & kinda pointed in the direction & then just completely ignored me. So I was just like okay whatever I guess I'll find the bathroom myself. The bathrooms did not have toilet paper so I had to grab hand paper towels from the dispenser. food: i have been here a few times in the past. i usually order the vegetarian fried rice (with egg) and it has always been consistently good. their hot jasmine tea is always always good and has refills. this time i decided to order the bún bò huế soup. it comes with thin filet mignon, ham, tendon, and a good piece of rib and thicker noodles compared to pho. i have never tried it before but the person taking my order explained it was made with shrimp paste and she explained it was very spicy. i picked this one because i wanted something warm with a kick. this dish is well known for its "spicy, sour, salty, and sweet" flavors blending perfectly. it was my first time trying it so i am not too familiar but it did taste sweet and sour. i was expecting a kick but i didn't really get any...more just the strong fishy flavor (but it could be just my tolerance for spice). i didn't really mind the fishy taste after putting more chili and other toppings they have to accompany the soups (bean sprouts, basil, jalapeños, lemon). the jalapeños themselves were spicy either but they had a good crunch. we also ordered a plain beef pho noodle soup. plain as in no meat. it was simple and delicious. we especially loved that this soup was so warm compared to the other when coming to the table. the pho was boiling and bubbling. very rich tasting broth and the rice noodles were thin but not over cooked or anything. just right. for my drink i had water and a vietnamese iced coffee. it was one of the best ive tried. it is perfectly strong and not too sweet at all. just how i like it. they have a lot of ice in it to help with diluting but i was finished with it before it melted haha. i had to order another. their ice is nice also it has a good crunch it's like popcorn ice. service: the service provided is usually amazing. i think i had gotten used to that haha. this time it was just alright. my party and i had finished our waters and they usually refill even before it's gone empty but this time we had to flag them down to get more. and for any questions or things we needed. i do not blame them though the other man is usually most attentive and i think they must've been short staffed maybe. ambiance: it is always nice and calm eating here. it also feels welcoming and i am usually always here over an hour! they have nice music playing, tvs running, and a lot of art and paintings all over the walls. the place is also very clean from the tables, floors, to the restrooms. they have great attention to detail. with their decorations too. i especially like their little room with a record player. a lot of very empowering sayings which was nice to read. i enjoy trying to spot differences whenever i go. read more
